Race 1 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE MAIDEN FINAL MAIDEN 2 395m

1 Super Leon – Turned its head outwards towards another runner in the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the offside shoulder and was subsequently stood down for 14 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr R Hazelgrove regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125(a), failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) Super Leon must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 127(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

2 Pied Art – Turned its head outwards towards another runner in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr R Ayres regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mr Ayres, stewards deemed Pied Art had taken its attention away from the lure therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Pied Art was suspended from racing at Albion Park for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

Race 2 - BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MAIDEN 2 395m

6 Royal Billy – Turned its head outwards and made muzzle contact with another runner in the home straight. Stewards spoke to trainers representative Mr D Pearce regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Royal Billy did make muzzle contact with the greyhound to its outside therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Royal Billy was suspended from racing at Albion Park for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

3 Bali Lava – Eased and turned its head inwards towards another runner in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr J Quarman regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mr Quarman, stewards deemed Bali Lava had taken its attention away from the lure therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Bali lava was suspended from racing at Albion Park for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

Race 7 - ORCHESTRATE @ STUD 0400 351 880 BEST 8 2 395m

Race 8 - MARBURG PUB 5TH GRADE FINAL GRADE 5 2 395m

6 North Star – Declared a late scratching @ 1:49pm acting on veterinary advice.

7 Flawless Scottie – Checked in the back straight and commenced to give ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the offside hip and was subsequently stood down for 14 days.
