General: Races 11 & 12 were delayed while track staff carried out remedial work to the track after it was impacted by heavy rain between races.

Race times were amended as follows:

R11 – 10.14pm

R12 – 10.50pm

Race 1 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN 2 520m

3 Jimmy Giant – Slow to begin, gave ground in the back straight then trailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Steward’s spoke to trainer’s representative Martina Kirillidis regarding the greyhound’s performance. After considering all available evidence, Stewards deemed the performance to be unsatisfactory therefore invoked GAR 129 Unsatisfactory performance the greyhound must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

4 Single Ladies - Late scratching at 6.20pm pursuant to GAR 92(2) when the greyhound was found to have a pre-race illness, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

6 Skip A Beat – Turned its head outwards in the front straight and entering the home straight taking its attention away from the lure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near side wrist injury under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

Steward’s spoke to trainer’s representative Rusty Dillon regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to purse by reason of injury – 10 days stand down and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

Race 2 - CARINA LEAGUES CLUB NOVICE 2 520m

1 Scrubs King – Checked entering the first turn, gave ground in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising to the offside hind leg under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

Trainer Travis Elson stated that the greyhound is still young and inexperienced, and he doesn’t believe the greyhound is handling the step to the 520m therefore intents to drop the greyhound back in distance. Stewards noted his submissions.

Race 3 - BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MA5 2 520m

7 On The Off – Beaten favourite. Checked entering the first turn. A post-race urine sample was obtained. Trainers representative Martina Kirillidis stated that the greyhound has recently returned from a spell and ran to her expectations in tonight’s event, Ms Kirillidis further stated that to her knowledge connections did not support the greyhound. Stewards noted the submissions.

8 Make It Count – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant findings.

Race 4 - SENNACHIE @ STUD - STEVE WHITE GRADE 5 1 710m

No matters of concern to Stewards.

Race 5 - NEWHAVEN STUD FARM NMW (1) 2 520m

4 Smart And Classy – Made contact with the rail approaching the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Race 6 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS GRADE 5 (1) 2 600m

1 Magical Gunn – Gave ground in the home straight. Underwent a post-race vet examination after collapsing in the catching pen. Acting under the provisions of GAR 42 Stewards invoked a 28 day stand down and the greyhound must complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing next.

Race 7 - BORGBET TIPPING SERVICE GRADE 5 (2) 2 600m

7 Albies Cruiser – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an offside hind leg injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

Race 8 - SKY RACING MIXED 4/5 2 520m

3 Mumma’s Brew - Late scratching at 5.45pm pursuant to GAR 92(2) when the greyhound was found to have an offside hind leg injury during kennelling, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

Race 9 - TAB - VENUE MODE NMW (2) 2 520m

No matters of concern to Stewards.

Race 10 - GET IT GIZMO @ NEWHAVEN STUD NMW (3) 2 520m

4 High Range – Severely checked and fell in the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Race 11 - BRISGREYS.COM GRADE 5 (1) 3 395m

No matters of concern to Stewards.

Race 12 - TWITTER @ BRISGREYS GRADE 5 (2) 3 395m

4 Matt’s Magic – Checked on the first turn, checked entering the home turn, checked and became unbalanced entering the home straight then collided with another runner.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near side fore stopper injury under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
