General: The all clear for race 7 was delayed allowing stewards to review the available patrol footage as to the reason for DAYSEA’S RORY appearing to being disadvantaged approaching the back straight. Upon viewing the films, it was established that DAYSEA’S RORY came into contact with a bird, resulting in the greyhound losing its momentum. Acting under the provisions of GAR 110 (2)(b) stewards subsequently declared DAYSEA’S RORY a non-starter.

1. Petite Gal – Approaching the winning post on the first occasion was checked. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no significant findings. Stewards spoke to trainer Thomas Weldon regarding the greyhound’s performance. Mr Weldon stated the early interference affected the greyhound’s performance. Mr Weldon further stated he will be conducting further education with the greyhound before making a determination of future nominations. Stewards noted the explanation. |
