1 Jilliby Shelly – Checked rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
7 Racing Queen - Turned its head outwards towards another runner rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainers representative J Cauchi regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mrs Cauchi, stewards deemed Racing Queen had taken its attention away from the lure and therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Racing Queen was suspended from racing at Albion Park for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.
