Stewards Trial – 460m

The greyhound ROCKY STATE failed a stewards trial over the distance of 460m

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

BUNDY BOWL AND LEISURE MAIDEN 460M

First away was TROMOND KAHN, last away was NOTRE CAMBLA. Approaching the 1st corner CAMBLA DRUMMER and CAMBLA BABY checked on a few occasions, as CAMBLA DRUMMER attempted to go around DIESEL SOOT. SPIFFY and TROMOND KAHN collided heavily through the 1st corner, with SPIFFY stumbling and TROMOND KAHN turned sideways momentarily. CAMBLA DRUMMER bumped into the back of NOTRE CAMBLA at the start of the back straight and lost ground as a result. DIESEL SOOT went wide at the home corner and down the home straight.

 

The greyhound TREMOND KAHN underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered a left front neck and shoulder injury and was a stood down for a period of 10 days

 

The greyhound SPIFFY underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found have no apparent injuries.

2.

READING CINEMAS NOVICE 460M

First away was KINKY CAMBLA, last out was CAMBLA DARLING. At the 1st corner MINUS TWO was tightened for running room. Running past the 720m boxes SMILES ALL ROUND started to slow and dropped back through the field rapidly, causing slight interference to MINUS TWO as it did. KISSY FIESTA went wide at the home corner. KINKY CAMBLA raced wide down the home straight.

 

The greyhound SMILES ALL ROUND underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injuries.

 

Stewards charged the greyhound SMILES ALL ROUND under rule 69 1B and was stood down for a period of 28 days and will need to perform a satisfactory stewards trial.

3.

BUNDABERG STOCK FEEDS 5th GRADE 460M

First away was TWO BEERS, last out was LAUREN LEIGH. The entire field was tight at the 1st corner, with the exception of TWO BEERS. STIRLING BLUE and SPRING CRUSHER were impacted the most, then NIGHT TIME LOVER come out the back and collided heavily with HAVOC AND MAYHEM causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground. SPRING CRUSHER raced wide down the back straight. LAUREN LEIGH raced wide at the home corner.

 

The greyhound NIGHT TIME LOVER underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to lame off side and near side shoulders and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

4.

SHERIFF ELECTRICAL WHOLESALERS 5th GRADE 460M

First away was NEDGOHEATHER. At the 1st corner MEGSIE MAC, BILLS FLASH, THURRUNGO and NOVA DE KAHN come together, then checked onto CUPPA TEA KIWI who lost considerable ground.  NEDGO HEATHER raced wide at the home corner.

5.

HOWARD BUTCHERY 5th GRADE 460M

First away was NEW ABODE, last away was KORONG. BET YOU WILL and PARIS LIGHTS raced tight then checked GO THE SPOILS, at the 1st corner. PURE LEE CRUISY checked off the back of NEW ABODE racing down the back straight. KORONG was tightened for room and checked at the back corner.

6.

BUNDABERG CUP HEAT 1 550M

An even start. DONT WEAKEN and SUMMERS PRANCER raced tight after the jump. ELING FEELING and LOOKING AMAZING come together at the 1st corner, then went wide causing both greyhounds to lose significant momentum.  PANAMA EYES went wide at the home corner and down the home straight.

7.

BUNDABERG CUP HEAT 2 550M

First away was MAGIC MAIDEN, last away was YES GERONIMO. COPPER LIGHT and WATCH ME WIGGLE raced tight, then wide, at the 1st corner. DARK DEFENDER and FREAK UNLEASHED also went wide at the 1st corner. DARK DEFENDER raced wide from the back corner onwards.

BUNDABERG CUP HEAT 3 550M

The All Clear was delayed to allow the Stewards the opportunity to view the Official Race Video, to determine that any of the Greyhounds that fell in this race had a material effect on the outcome of the event. After viewing the video the Stewards were satisfied that no greyhound that fell affected the outcome and therefore declared the ‘all clear’ on the Judges placings.

 

It was an even start with the exception of EIGHT PINTS which was slow to begin. At the 1ST corner OUR CHALLENGE and GOOD GIRL JANICE checked causing GOOD GIRL JANICE to fall and then causing KIALLA, SPRING FIRECHIEF, ALL ABOUT HOPE and EIGHT PINTS to become entangled and also fall. DIAMOND ROBYNE raced wide at the home corner and also down the home straight.

 

The greyhound KIALLA underwent a post race veterinary examination and was euthanized as a result of its injuries.

 

The greyhound EIGHT PINT underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered severe bruising and Right shoulder injury and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

 

The greyhound ALL ABOUT HOPE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration on the left thigh and left shoulder and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

9.

UNCLE RUSTY’S PHOTOS 3/4th GRADE 460M

First away was MADE THAT WAY, last out was MR REALITY. LADY GLEN, MADE THAT WAY and NANNY CHAR CHAR raced tight at the first corner, with SPOT THE DOT running up behind that trio and being blocked for racing room. MR REALITY raced wide down the back straight. SPOT THE DOT raced wide at the home corner and down the home straight. MALLOURY QUEEN also raced wide down the home straight.

RACE DAY SUMMARY

As the result of a major incident in the running of race 8, that resulted in a number of significant injuries, races 3,4,6 and 7 were not swabbed because of the extensive treatment of the animals involved.
