General: Stewards convened an inquiry after the race meeting following a complaint raised by Mr Stephen Bland that during kennelling his greyhound Ragin’ Comet was weighed with a collar still on. Stewards questioned Mr Bland regarding the alleged incident, and he advised that he didn’t handle the greyhound during kennelling and another trainer was handling the greyhound for him at the time of the alleged incident. When questioned the QRIC steward in charge of the scales during kennelling was certain that the greyhound was not wearing any collar while it was on the scales and was weighed correctly and the weight was correct. The person handling the greyhound agreed and stated that the collar was in his right hand whilst the dog was on the scales as is his standard habit over the last 15 to 20 years training greyhounds. Stewards were satisfied that the greyhound was weighed correctly and suggested that Mr Bland collects all the facts before making an accusation in the future and deemed no further action will be taken at this point.

Race 1 – TAB MAIDEN (1) 460m

1 Apache Bear – Checked and disadvantaged entering the turn off the front straight. Stumbled exiting the turn onto the front straight momentarily checked runner on the outside. Stewards reviewed the footage and were not comfortable that the dog had committed an offence and advised the trainer that he would be given the benefit of the doubt.  A post-race veterinary examination found a neck strain and stood down for 5 days.

4 Bluesette Queen – Checked approaching the turn off the front straight.

6 Chase Me Candy – Checked approaching the turn off the front straight. checked entering the turn off the front straight.

Race 2 - ACE FABRICATIONS MAIDEN (2) 460m

1 Neil's Trick – Shortened stride and lost considerable ground entering the turn off the front straight. and took no further competitive part in the event. A veterinary examination found a neck muscle strain and stood down from racing for 7 days.

6 I'm Too Short – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner entering the turn off the back straight.

Race 3 - EAST END HOTEL NOVICE 460m

1 Wilby Royalty – Checked shortly after the start. Bumped approaching the turn off the front straight.

3 Garfunkel – Shifted in towards running rail and checked shortly after the start. Checked across the heels of another runner approaching the exit onto the back straight.

5 Jet's Image – Slow to begin. Bumped entering the turn off the front straight. Checked on the heels in the back straight. lost footing and momentarily disadvantaged entering the turn off the back straight. A veterinary examination found nearside and offside shoulder strains and stood down for 5 days

8 Relax Max – Checked off the heels of another runner and disadvantaged in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 4 - BARGARA BAKERY GRADE 5 (1) 460m

6 Not Alone – Checked and forced wider entering the turn off the back straight.

7 Suite Nita – Shifted wider exiting the turn onto the front straight and continued to race wider in the front straight.

10 (3) Tough As Steel – Slow to begin. Checked entering the turn off the back straight.

Race 5 - ENDEAVOUR FOUNDATION MIXED 4/5 460m

2 Hidden Ripple – Checked and disadvantaged approaching the turn off the front straight. Checked off the heels and lost ground in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination found a nearside hind thigh muscle strain and stood down for 7 days.

3 Suite Lexie – Checked approaching the turn off the front straight.

4 Filthy Lucre – Tightened for racing room in the front straight.

5 Winlock Bluey – Tightened for racing room in the front straight.

Race 6 - TERRY SIGNS MIXED 3/4 460m

2 Zambora Chief – Checked approaching the turn off the front straight.

5 Sholto – Checked shortly after the start. Checked approaching the turn off the front straight. Tightened for racing room and bumped entering the turn off the front straight. Checked and disadvantaged entering the turn off the back straight.

6 Slick Mac – Checked shortly after the start. Checked approaching the turn off the front straight. Tightened for racing room and bumped entering the turn off the front straight. Checked entering the turn off the back straight.

8 Roulette – Checked shortly after the start, Checked approaching the turn off the front straight. Tightened for racing room and bumped entering the turn off the front straight.

Race 7 - UNCLE RUSTY'S PHOTOS MIXED 4/5 550m

2 Not Allowed – Slow to begin.

Race 9 – TAB GRADE 5 (2) 460m

2 Sassy Elle – Shifted attention from the lure to the runner on the inside and slowed momentarily entering the turn off the front straight but did not make muzzle contact. Stewards charged the greyhound with failing to pursue 1^st offence GAR 69(a)(1) 28 days and a satisfactory trial.

3 Signify – Slow to begin.

5 Tiffany Twisted – Tightened for racing room and bumped shortly after the start.

7 Little Shelly – Checked exiting the turn onto the front straight.

9 (4) She's Just Magic – Tightened for racing room and bumped shortly after the start. shifted wider and checked exiting the turn onto the front straight.

Race 10 - SKY RACING MA5 460m

1 Blackpool Pantha – Shortened stride entering the turn off the front straight. began to lose ground approaching the exit onto the back straight. A veterinary examination found a shoulder muscle strain and stood down for 7 days

2 Ragin' Comet – Stumbled exiting the boxes after the start. Tightened for racing room in the front straight.

8 Really Royal – Tightened for racing room in the front straight.
