General:

Trainer Mr Jeff R Crawford pleaded guilty to a charge Under GAR 156 (f)(ii) constituting negligence and fined $100.00 after placing the incorrect rug on his greyhound prior to the running of race 5

Trainer Matthew Evans pleaded guilty to a charge under GAR 156(f)(ii) for misconduct in that after the running of race 10 in the kennelling block he directed foul language towards Melissa Carter and also made a derogatory comment about her, which in the opinion of stewards constituted  misconduct. A fine of $1000 was imposed with $500 fully suspended for a period of 12 months on the condition that there are no breaches of any conduct rules during that period. In determining penalty stewards were mindful of penalties to serve as both a specific and general deterrent, the trainers immediate remorse and guilty plea and previous clear record in relation to such matters.

Race 1 - KALKI MOON MAIDEN (1) 460m

1 Bar Cool Rocks – Checked off the heels of another runner entering the first turn.

2 Unlimited Wolf  – Late scratching at 10:34am due to weight variation (GAR 101(1). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Ashley Bock was fined $100 acting under GAR 101(3)(b)

3 Lucky Clover – Checked and disadvantaged nearing the second turn.

4 Bomber Bar Cool – Checked on the heels and dragged down entering the first turn.

5 Koko Girl – Checked entering the first turn. Checked entering the second turn.

6 Key Status – Slow to begin.

7 Lorna's Flying – Checked and disadvantaged nearing the second turn.

8 Bye Bye Taipan – Shifted inwards and checked another runner nearing the second turn.

Race 2 - KALKI MOON MAIDEN (1) 460m

1 Belle Bar Cool – Checked off the heels of another runner and shifted wider exiting the turn onto the back straight.

2 Honey Bar Cool – Forced wider exiting the turn onto the back straight.

4 Trinity My Mum – Checked heavily shortly after the start.

5 Switched Out -  Inconvenienced shortly after the start. Checked entering the first turn.

6 Banana Prince – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner entering the first turn. Checked and disadvantaged in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

7 Whacker Wilson – Checked heavily shortly after the start.

8 Lady Lil – Checked off the heels of another runner nearing the second turn.

Race 3 - TERRY SIGNS NOVICE (1) 460m

1 Wicked Storm – Slow to begin. Checked after the start. Checked around the first turn.

2 Barcia Lady – Checked immediately after the start. Bumped several occasions leading into the first turn and severely checked around the first turn and lost ground. A veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

3 Leo Gibbs – Shifted in and checked another runner immediately after the start.

6 Miss Sassy Girl – Slow to begin. Checked shortly after the start.

7 Voldemont - Checked shortly after the start. Checked entering the first turn.

Race 4 - EAST END HOTEL NOVICE (2) 460m

2 Starlight Nelly – Tightened for racing room and bumped other runners entering the first turn.

3 Cambla Clown – Tightened for racing room and bumped other runners entering the first turn.

4 Canent Percy – Slow to begin. Tightened for racing room and bumped other runners entering the first turn. Checked heavily off the heels of another runner around the first turn.

5 Uncle Charlie – Tightened for racing room and bumped other runners entering the first turn. A veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

6 Evil Evee – Tightened for racing room and bumped other runners entering the first turn. Checked heavily on the heels and dragged down around the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed pin muscle and hip muscle strains and stood down for 5 days.

7 Weaver's Cut – Tightened for racing room and bumped other runners entering the first turn. Checked around the first turn.

Race 5 - TAB 1-5 WINS 531m

3 Katara Love – Checked off the heels of another runner nearing the second turn.

4 Mighty Gunn – Slow to begin. Checked on the hind quarters and momentarily lost footing in the front straight on the first occasion. Lost ground entering the first turn. a veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

5 Brightest Gunn – Checked entering the second turn.

7 Yo Yo Lad –  Checked off the heels of another runner, lost footing and collided with the running rail in the front straight on the first occasion. A veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities

Race 6 - MCBRIDE SANDS GRADE 5 (1) 460m

1 Spring Dani – Checked other runners to varying degrees nearing the first turn. Collided with injured runner in the back straight and fell heavily, before regaining balance and finishing the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising and stood down for 5 days.

2 Here's Yours – Checked other runners to varying degrees nearing the first turn. Checked around the first turn. Changed stride and appeared injured and began to lose ground in the back straight. A veterinary examination revealed a nearside wrist sprain and stood down for 10 days

3 Zipping Mork – Tightened for racing room and bumped other runners shortly after the start.

Checked other runners to varying degrees nearing the first turn.

4 Deadly Sea – Tightened for racing room and bumped other runners shortly after the start. Checked other runners to varying degrees nearing the first turn. Forced wider in the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent injuries.

5 Doctor Rossi – Tightened for racing room and bumped other runners shortly after the start. Checked other runners to varying degrees nearing the first turn.

7 Wild Oates – Checked on the hind quarters nearing the first turn.

8 Audrey Zola – Checked around the first turn. Shortened stride, appearing injured and lost ground in the back straight and was galloped falling as a result. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a catastrophic offside leg injury and was euthanised on humane grounds. This will be reported to the racing injury review panel.

Race 7 - ACE FABRICATIONS GRADE 5 (2) 460m

1 Capacitor – Tightened for racing room and bumped another runner entering the first turn.

4 Mount Cambla – Checked immediately after the start. Tightened for racing room and bumped another runner entering the first turn.

5 Out Of Scope – Checked immediately after the start. Tightened for racing room, bumped another runner and hampered around the first turn.

Race 8 - SKY RACING MIXED 4/5 460m

2 Lost Signal – Slow to begin. Checked nearing the second turn. Checked around the second turn.

5 At Sea – Slow to begin. Knocked off balance entering the first turn.

8 There's A Shadow – Shortened stride and appeared injured in the back straight. and lost ground around the second turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a nearside front stopper bone injury and stood down from racing for 42 days and will need to perform a veterinary clearance trial. This will be referred to the racing injury review panel.

Race 9 - SUPERTECH MA5 460m

2 Ragin' Comet – Shifted wider and checked in the back straight. Checked on the heels nearing the second turn.

3 Cribb Island Gal -  Checked shortly after the start.

4 Sir Diamond -  Checked shortly after the start.

5 Sassy Elle – Checked by an unbalanced runner in the back straight.

6 Rosebud Smile – Tightened for racing room and bumped shortly after the start. Checked around the first turn.

7 Betty Jo – Slow to begin. Checked around the first turn.

8 Mia Moo Moo – Tightened for racing room and bumped shortly after the start. Checked and forced wider becoming unbalanced and checked the runner on its outside in the back straight.

Race 10 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS GRADE 5 (3) 460m

1 Boston Sox - Underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

2 Dodgy Mick – Slow to begin. Tightened for racing room and bumped around the first turn.

4 Federal Ruby – Shifted wider around the second turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

5 Yumar – Slow to begin. Checked shortly after the start. Tightened for racing room and bumped around the first turn.

7 Storm Rose – Slow to begin. Checked shortly after the start. Tightened for racing room and bumped around the first turn. Forced wider around the second turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
