General:

· Race 1 - Following an incident raised with stewards in the swab kennels involving the winner from race 1, Stewards investigated and spoke with the trainer involved, and the kennel attendant responsible for bringing the swab dogs back and locking them away until required by the swab official. It was discovered that the swab kennel for the greyhound was not padlocked shut by the kennel attendant and not realised by either party until the greyhound was collected for its post-race swab. Stewards spoke with the swab official and the kennel attendant and were satisfied that the integrity of the swab was not affected as the swab kennel bay was locked the entire time and there was always the swab official or kennel attendant in attendance at any time the kennels were opened. The trainer was aware of the incident and had taken a photograph of the kennel and was happy to continue with the swab. Stewards reminded the kennelling staff of the protocols and the importance of following procedures.

· Race 4 - Handler Mr Glen Boody was found guilty and fined the sum of $100.00 in respect of a charge issued pursuant to Greyhounds Australasia Rule 156(f)(ii) for Presenting the greyhound with the incorrect racing rug which conduct which in the opinion of the Stewards is negligent.

2 Electric Cambla - Slow to begin. Checked around the first turn.

3 Canen Mable - Bumped and checked racing off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside wrist injury and was stood down for 7 days.

4 Cascade Girl – Checked soon after the start. Checked around the first turn. Checked off heels into the back straight.

5 Pearlescent - Slow to begin. Checked around the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

7 Penny And Clyde – Checked soon after the start.

8 Thermal Current – Slow to begin.

Race 2 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS NOVICE 460m

2 Flexibility – Checked soon after the start.

3 Trinity My Mum – Slow to begin. Checked racing into the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

4 Big Wednesday- Slow to begin.

5 Burrum Josie – Checked soon after the start.

8 Shell And Sea – Slow to begin. Checked racing into the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 3 - QGOLD HEAT 1 OPEN 531m

1 Baronga Breeze – Tightened and checked racing into the first turn.

2 Off Break – Bumped heavily soon after the start. Checked racing towards the winning post on the first occasion.

4 Leo Gibbs – Bumped heavily soon after the start. Checked racing towards to winning post on the first occasion.

5 Yo Yo Lad – Checked rounding the home turn.

7 Getaway Gherkin – Stumbled momentarily nearing the second turn. A veterinary examination revealed an offside leg injury and stood down for 60 days and will need to perform a veterinary clearance trial before returning to racing. This will be referred to the racing injury review panel.

8 Alpha Humbug – Slow to begin.

Race 4 - QGOLD HEAT 2 OPEN 531m

1 Orson Alison - Checked around the first turn.

2 Mount Cambla - Checked around the first turn.

4 Just Another Mac – Handler Glen Boody was fined $100 under GAR156(f)(ii) for negligently placing the incorrect numbered rug on the greyhound when presented for the pre-race microchip check.

5 Daysea's Rowdy – Slow to begin. Checked around the first turn.

8 Queen Norma – Slow to begin.

Race 5 - SKY RACING MIXED 4/5 460m

1 Spot On Mate – Slow to begin. Checked around the first turn.

3 Goody Goody Yum - Checked racing into the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right groin area and was stood down for 5 days.

6 Classy Nebo - Checked around the first turn.

7 Cyclone Rinaldo – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left hip area and was stood down for 5 days.
