1 Whispers – Forced wider in the back straight.

4 Clever Cambla – Shifted wider in the back straight. Whilst rounding the second turn and exiting the turn onto the front straight the greyhound deviated its attention from the lure towards another runner on the outside. A veterinary examination revealed nearside & offside front wrist sprains and a nearside hip muscle sprain and stood down for 28 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Louise Cameron regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and hearing the submissions from Ms Cameron, stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the greyhound had suffered these injuries before this point of the race and the fact it was still looking to the runner on the outside along the finish straight, and deemed Cambla Clown had taken its attention away from the lure therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 2nd offence under this rule it was suspended from racing at all tracks for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial and must also perform a veterinary clearance trial.
