General

·       Following race 8 and due to stewards growing concerns with the significant degradation of the track surface, particularly Entering the second turn. Around the second turn and Exiting the turn onto the front straight. Stewards inspected the surface and deemed the track as unsuitable and unsafe to continue racing. The remainder of the race meeting was abandoned at 2:36pm.

 

 

Race 1 – TAB  MAIDEN 460m

 

7 Fabulous Carter – Checked shortly after the start.

 

9 Pocket Size (8) – Checked shortly after the start.

 

10 Lady Beetroot (6) – Checked shortly after the start.

 

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING NOVICE (1) 460m

 

1 She's So Crazy – Checked and knocked off balance, colliding with other runners around the first turn. A veterinary examination revealed a strain to both shoulder muscles and stood down for 5 days

 

2 Bear Blaster – Checked off the hind quarters of another runner entering the first turn. Checked and fell heavily, before regaining footing and completing the event around the first turn. A veterinary examination revealed bruising and stood down for 5 days.

 

5 Sunset Woman – Checked and dragged down around the first turn.

 

6 Canent Percy – Checked immediately after the start. Checked and disadvantaged around the first turn.

 

7 Farmor Iconic – Collided and checked around the first turn.

 

 

Race 3 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS NOVICE (2) 460m

 

·       Prior to the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track following ongoing rainfall & the surface around the home turn degrading and were satisfied it was satisfactory.

 

3 Sleek Lilly – Checked entering the first turn. Dragged down around the first turn. A veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

 

5 Business Flight – Checked entering the first turn.

 

6 Midnight Prince – Checked entering the first turn.

 

7 Evil Evee – Checked entering the first turn.

 

 

Race 4 - GLOBAL TURF MA5 460m

 

2 Summer Cash – Checked exiting the turn onto the back straight.

 

5 Lone Munster – Checked exiting the turn onto the back straight.

 

6 Chillout Cookie – Exiting the turn onto the front straight the greyhound deviated its attention from the lure towards the runner on its outside and made muzzle contact. A veterinary examination revealed neck, shoulder and hip muscle strains and stood down for 5 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Gary Keep, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners exiting the turn onto the front straight and acting under the provisions of GAR 123 marring. Mr Keep pleaded guilty to the breach, Chillout Cookie was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 127, before any future nomination will be accepted.

 

 

7 Katara Love – Shortened stride shortly after the start and lost considerable ground. A veterinary examination revealed a back muscle strain and stood down for 28 days and will need to perform a veterinary clearance trial before returning to racing.

 

 

Race 5 - CRAFT RENTALS GRADE 5 (1) 460m

 

·       Prior to the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track following ongoing rainfall & the surface around the home turn degrading and were satisfied it was satisfactory.

 

4 Conair - Late scratching at 10:44 am due to a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Stewards advised Mr Bill Wormer that the greyhound will be stood down for 10 days and evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the late scratching in order to avoid a fine The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.

 

 

5 Endless Dancing – Checked and momentarily lost footing shortly after the start.

 

 

Race 6 - UNCLE RUSTY'S PHOTOS GRADE 5 (2) 460m

 

1 Almost Famous – Checked entering the first turn.

 

 

8 Zipping Parker - Handler Louise Cameron was found guilty of negligence GAR 156(f)(ii) and was fined the sum of $100.00 for presenting the greyhound Zipping Parker with the incorrect racing rug.

 

 

9 Wendy Maree (6) – Checked around the first turn.

 

 

Race 7 - SUPERTECH ELECTRONICS GRADE 5 (3) 460m

 

2 Wildash Venus - Handler Erica Russell was found guilty of negligence GAR 156(f)(ii) and was fined the sum of $100.00 for presenting the greyhound Wildash Venus with the incorrect racing rug.

 

 

5 Queen Norma – Checked and disadvantaged around the first turn.

 

6 Ethan's Thunder – Slow to begin.

 

 

Race 8 - CARVE INDUSTRIES 0-4 WINS 531m

 

4 Jackson's Miss – Slipped and lost footing exiting the turn onto the front straight.

 

8 Kick Son – Jumped up with the boxes as they opened and lost ground.

 

 

Race 9 - TOTAL GREENS TURF MIXED 3/4 460m

 

·       Prior to the running of this event, Stewards had growing concerns with the significant degradation of the track surface, particularly entering the second turn. Around the second turn and exiting the turn onto the front straight. and inspected the surface with club president Mr. Stephen Bland and deemed the surface as unsuitable and unsafe to continue racing and abandoned the remainder of the meeting.
