General:
· Due to the greyhound Barefoot Flynn slipping its collar whilst it was being emptied enroute to the track, underwent a thorough veterinary examination prior to kennelling and was passed as suitable to race.
· Because of a software issue stewards replays were not available during the course of the day and had to rely on sky footage
Race 1 - TAB MAIDEN 460m
1. Yogi's Baby - Checked, shifted wider and collided with another runner becoming unbalanced in the first turn. took no further competitive part in the event exiting the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside wrist sprain as well as shoulder and hip muscle strains and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 14 days.
7. Electric Cambla - Faulted its action and checked in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside wrist sprain under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.
8. Sweet Mail - Checked heavily and became unbalanced on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
Race 2 - SKY RACING NOVICE 460m
7. Canoe Paddler - Late scratching at 9:18am when Matthew Helibronn reported the greyhound to have swelling in the nearside track leg GAR 76(2). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a Veterinary certificate before any future nominations will be accepted.
Race 3 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MIXED 4/5 315m
6. Next Stop – Severely checked on the second turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
Race 4 - GLOBAL TURF MIXED 3/4 460m
No matters of concern to Stewards.
Race 5 - CRAFT RENTALS MA5 460m
7. He’s Nosey – Checked entering the first turn. Checked and gave ground on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside wrist sprain under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 5 days.
Race 6 - UNCLE RUSTY'S PHOTOS GRADE 5 (1) 460m
3. Endless Dancing – Shifted wider and checked, and lost footing entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a hip muscle strain under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 14 days.
9. Master Barcia – Unable to obtain sufficient sample for a pre-race swab, therefore a post-race urine sample was obtained.
Race 7 - WALKER ST WHOLESALE BAKERY GRADE 5 (2) 460m
1, Master Mars – Checked and faulted in its actions nearing the first turn, taking no further part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a nearside pin muscle injury under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 5 days.
5. Ramstein Bale – Lost footing and checked immediately after the start. Checked nearing the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a nearside toe ligament injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
Race 8 - CARVE INDUSTRIES MIXED 4/5 531m
No matters of concern to Stewards.
Race 9 - TOTAL GREENS TURF GRADE 5 (1) 315m
6.Calm Sea - Late scratching at 9:11am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 77). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
5. Hotshot Bear - – Late scratching at 10:35am due to a weight variation (GAR 101(1). Last weight, 25.6 – today, 29.0 – variation of 3.4kg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, John White was fined $100 acting under GAR 101(3)(b)
Race 10 - MUNN'S PLUMBING GRADE 5 (2) 315m
