General: Following the lure malfunctioning prior to the running of race one, stewards moved the meeting back by one race, to allow for the track staff time to perform repairs

Race 1 - SKY RACING MAIDEN 460m

 

3. My Resolution – Checked in the first turn and gave ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a hip muscle 4strain under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

 

7. Bare Facts – Checked in the first turn. Checked in the back straight. Checked in the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

Race 2 - BUNDABERG MAIDEN 1000 FINAL MAIDEN 460m

 

6. Cambla Princess – Faulted in its action and appeared to have trouble taking the turn and collided with another runner exiting the turn onto the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside wrist sprain under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

 

Race 3 - GLOBAL TURF MIXED 3/4 315m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards

 

Race 4 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS GRADE 5 (1) 460m

 

1. Burrum Betty – Severely checked and became unbalanced in the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

·       Following the conclusion of the event the lure malfunctioned again, with track staff getting the lure repaired before the commencement of race 5.

 

 

Race 5 - UNCLE RUSTY'S PHOTOS MIXED 4/5 460m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards

 

Race 6 - RACE REVOLUTION GRADE 5 (2) 460m

 

2. Social Impact – Slow to begin. Gave considerable ground in the first turn, taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed offside shoulder & a hip muscle strains under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

Stewards spoke to trainer David Raines regarding the greyhound’s performance. Mr Raines stated that although the vet had found an injury his intention was to speak with the owners and retire the greyhound from racing.  Stewards noted the explanation.

·       No matters of concern to stewards

 

Race 8 - BUNDABERG SPRINT FINAL OPEN 460m

 

4. Baby Guinness - Late scratching when Mr Stephen McDermott reported the greyhound to have a laceration GAR 76(2). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 76(5) before any future nomination will be accepted.

 

 

5. Mount Cambla – Faulted in its action entering the back straight, taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside leg injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 60 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Injury Review Panel

 

Race 9 - SHERRIFF ELECTRICAL MA5 460m

 

·       Prior to the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track in the first turn and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.

 

6. Beauty Edition – Checked entering the first turn. Gave ground in the first turn. faulted in its action entering the home turn and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside wrist sprain under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 21 days

 

7. Red Card Bob - A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside wrist sprain, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 21 days

 

8. Midnight Cambla – Slow to begin. Faulted in its action immediately after the start and took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a back muscle injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 60 days and perform a veterinary clearance trial before returning to racing.

 

Race 10 - WALKER ST WHOLESALE BAKERY GRADE 5 (1) 315m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards

 

Race 11 - CARVE INDUSTRIES GRADE 5 (2) 315m

 

2. Frank Footluce – Checked and dragged down in the home turn. Heavily checked from behind and fell approaching the exit of the second turn, taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a suspected nearside wrist injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

8. Louisiana Flyer – Collided with fallen runner round the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
