General:

·       Lure jumped off the cable again at the completion of Race 9 (315m) the lure driver repaired and has liaised with staff from Racing Queensland & the club working towards a fix for this issue.

Race 1 - BUNDABERG MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 1 MAIDEN 460m

 

·       Following a dog pulling up in the back straight and running back towards the field stewards ordered the race to finish on the lure.

 

1. Smudged – Checked and gave ground entering the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an inner thigh muscle injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 5 days.

 

2. Black And Classy – A post-race veterinary examination revealed nearside rear pad injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 5 days.

 

 

6. Tiger Mime – Checked and disadvantaged shortly after the start.

 

8. Cambla Assault – Faulted in its actions, gave ground, and took no further competitive part in the event before running back towards the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside wrist injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

 

Race 2 - BUNDABERG MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 2 MAIDEN 460m

 

8. Cheeky Chan – Checked and gave ground entering the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

Race 3 - SKY RACING NOVICE 460m

 

4.Rapid Dozer – Checked dragged down from behind and fell heavily entering the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 5 days.

 

6. Trinity My Mum – hampered by fallen runner entering the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

 

Race 4 – GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MIXED 4/5 460m

 

2. Burano – Gave ground on the first turn. Gave ground in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a thigh muscle injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Anthony Pomerenke regarding the greyhound’s performance. After considering all available evidence and input from Mr Pomerenke, Stewards deemed the performance to be unsatisfactory therefore invoked GAR 129 Unsatisfactory performance the greyhound must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

Race 5 – GLOBAL TURF GRADE 5 (1) 460m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 6 - CRAFT RENTALS GRADE 5 (2) 460m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 7 - CHRISTMAS CUP HEAT 1 OPEN 460m

 

3. Orson Allison – Dragged down from behind and became unbalanced giving ground on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Stewards spoke with trainer Thomas Lowe and asked him to advise on any issues found the following day.

 

Race 8 - CHRISTMAS CUP HEAT 2 OPEN 460m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 9 - CARVE INDUSTRIES MIXED 4/5 315m

 

3. Burnout – Checked and lost footing shortly after the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 14 days.

 

Race 10 - WALKER ST WHOLESALE BAKERY GRADE 5 315m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.
