General:

·       Stewards monitored the temperature both inside the kennel block & on the track throughout the course of the meeting and implemented various procedures in line with the QRIC heat policy

 

·       Following the hot temperatures & humidity levels stewards ordered that the greyhounds be kept for a minimum of 2 x races after their event to let the greyhounds recover in the air conditioning.

6. Smudged - Late scratching at 11:15am pursuant to GAR 92(2) when the greyhound was found to have a nearside hip muscle injury during kennelling, the greyhound has been stood down for 60 days and will need to perform a veterinary clearance trial.

Race 3 - SKY RACING GRADE 5 (1) 315m

Race 4 - MUNN'S PLUMBING MIXED 4/5 315m

 

2. Gilmore Hayze –Beaten favourite. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant finding. Stewards spoke to trainer Tracy Trigg regarding the greyhound’s performance, who stated, that the dog had not raced for 140 days and thought the greyhound would have run better following recent trials. Stewards noted her explanation.

Race 6 - CARVE INDUSTRIES GRADE 5 460m

3.Wild Oates – Checked on the first turn. Bumped in the back straight.  Faulted in its actions and gave ground entering the second turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

 

Race 7 - GLOBAL TURF GRADE 5 531m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 8 - ISFAB QGOLD FINAL OPEN 460m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 9 - CRAFT RENTALS GRADE 5 (2) 315m

 

3. Rattle The Cage – Checked and fell heavily on the first turn, before regaining its feet and completed the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
