General:

· Stewards convened an inquiry into the alleged Raceday treatment of Penny And Clyde, which was presented to compete in events at today’s meeting by trainer Darryl Raines. After hearing evidence from Mr Raines and QRIC casual steward John Doss, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that Penny And Clyde had not been treated in contravention of the rules of racing and Stewards therefore ordered that the greyhound be withdrawn from their respective event pursuant to GAR 145 (1)(2)(4)(E)  Samples were taken for analysis. Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a date to be fixed

· Following race 2 Stewards inspected the track entering the back straight and due to the track conditions and further rain expected deemed it was unsatisfactory for racing and the meeting was abandoned.

Race 1 - MUNN'S PLUMBING MAIDEN 315m

· No matters of concern to stewards.

Race 2 - BUNDABERG MAIDEN 1000 FINAL MAIDEN 460m

· Stewards ordered the race to finish on the lure due to a fallen runner that had stopped in the back straight.

1. Rogue Ranger – Entering the first turn, deviated its attention away from the lure towards runners on the outside but did not make muzzle contact. Faulted in its actions and lost footing in the back straight and took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside hind leg injury, The greyhound was charged under the provisions of GAR 125(a), failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 127(a). Under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 60 days and must complete a veterinary clearance trial prior to racing next. This matter will be referred to the injury review panel.

4. Cambla Bliss – Checked soon after the start.

6. Rattlin’ Grace – Checked heavily entering the first turn.

8. Baby No Go – Checked and became unbalanced entering the first turn.

· Stewards inspected the track entering the back straight and due to the track conditions and further rain expected deemed it was unsatisfactory for racing and the meeting was abandoned.
