Race 1 – TAB MAIDEN 315m

 

1 Brick- Beaton Favourite. Checked by another running entering the turn out of the back straight and was severely inconvenienced.

 

2 Dexter Dewalt- Checked with another runner entering the turn out of the back straight, forcing both runners to the outside of the track. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the near triceps and deltoid muscle. Dexter Dewalt was stood down from racing for a period of 7 days. Stewards spoke with trainer Mr W Warner regarding the greyhound’s performance, in which Mr Warner commented that it was his opinion that Dexter Dewalt was unable to make the turn and become unbalanced with the outside runner. Mr Warner further adding that he believes the greyhound may be unsuited to circle tracks and will pursue straight track racing in upcoming starts. No further action was taken.

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN 460m

 

5 Kasey’s Cash- Faltered through the turn out of the back straight and lost ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the near side triceps and deltoid muscle. Kasey’s Cash was stood down from racing for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 3 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS NOVICE 315m

 

8 Baby Shocker- Commenced to weaken entering the turn out of the back straight and trailed the field for remainder of the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the nearside groin and was stood down from racing for a period of 14 days.  

 

Race 4 - GLOBAL TURF NOVICE 460m

 

2 Yogi’s Menace- Commenced to weaken through the first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the nearside hind foot and was stood down from racing for a period of 7 days.  

 

Race 5 - CRAFT RENTALS GRADE 5 531m

 

No significant racing incidents.

 

Race 6 - UNCLE RUSTY'S PHOTOS GRADE 5 (1) 315m

 

2 Champagne Talks- Beaton favourite. Slow to begin. Checked approaching the turn out of the back straight and again entering the home straight.

 

Race 7 - RACE REVOLUTION GRADE 5 (1) 460m

 

No significant racing incidents.

 

Race 8 - WALKER ST WHOLESALE BAKERY GRADE 5 (2) 460m

 

8 Tokyo’s Gem- Turned its head inwards towards another runner in the home straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr W Warner regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and hearing the submissions from Mr Warner, stewards deemed Tokyo’s Gem had taken its attention away from the lure therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Tokyo’s Gem was suspended from racing at Bundaberg for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

 

Race 9 - TOTAL GREENS TURF GRADE 5 (3) 460m

 

1 Hill’s Legend- Checked with another entering the home straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr D Sloan regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and hearing the submissions from Mr Sloan, no further action was taken.

 

Race 10 - SHERRIFF ELECTRICAL MA5 460m

 

4 Eagle Monelli- Checked in the first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the triceps, deltoid and offside groin muscles and was stood down from racing for a period of 21 days.

 

Race 11 – ISFAB MIXED 4/5 315m

 

3 Aces Up- Severely checked entering the turn out of the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the stomach muscle and was stood down from racing for a period of 5 days.

 

Race 12 - CARVE INDUSTRIES GRADE 5 (2) 315m

 

3 Canoe Paddler- Checked approaching the first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the groin muscles and was stood down from racing for a period of 21 days.

 

4 Monaco Diesel- Checked approaching the first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the triceps and deltoid muscles and was stood down from racing for a period of 7 days.

 

7 Despicable Pryce- Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the offside hind foot and was stood down from racing for a period of 60 days. Due to the priority pain relief administered to the greyhound, no post-race sample was collected from Despicable Pryce. Stewards further added that Despicable Pryce must complete a satisfactory trial before returning to racing.
