General:

·       Stewards conducted an inquiry following race 12 into an alleged interaction between two trainers whilst boxing the dogs for race 5 at the 315m boxes. After hearing all the evidence from both parties and their witnesses it was deemed that there was insufficient evidence and the matter was concluded.

Race 1 – TAB MAIDEN 315m

 

3. Epic Black – Checked entering the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed nearside triceps and nearside deltoid muscle strain and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) was stood down for 5 days.

 

4. Amity – Checked heavily approaching the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed offside wrist sprain and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) was stood down for 10 days.

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING NOV/M (1) 460m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 3 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS NOV/M (2) 460m

 

1. Paris Can Wait – Checked heavily and fell approaching the first turn before regaining footing and completing the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising to the shoulders and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) was stood down for 5 days.

 

4. Urge – Deviated attention from the lure towards a runner on the outside entering the front straight. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Trevor Lindsay regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the front straight, Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 - Failing to pursue. Mr Lindsay pleaded guilty to the breach, and the greyhound was suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 127, before any future nomination will be accepted.

 

Race 4 - GLOBAL TURF GRADE 5 (1) 315m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 5 - CRAFT RENTALS GRADE 5 (2) 315m

 

3. Monaco Diesel - Late scratching at 11:00 am due to weight variation (GAR 101(1). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, John Kuhn was given a reprimand acting under GAR 101(3)(b).

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 6 - UNCLE RUSTY'S PHOTOS GRADE 5 531m

 

4. Hollow Hayze – (Beaten favourite) Checked entering the first turn. Forced wider in the back straight.

 

6. Cambla Bliss – Checked and dragged down from behind on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed groin muscle strain and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) was stood down for 10 days.

 

Race 7 - QGOLD HEAT 1 OPEN 460m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 8 - QGOLD HEAT 2 OPEN 460m

 

6. Irish Diva – Checked and disadvantaged exiting the first turn.

 

8. Bow Street – Tightened for racing room and checked heavily giving ground exiting the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed triceps and deltoid muscle strain and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) was stood down for 10 days.

 

Race 9 – ISFAB MIXED 3/4 315m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 10 - WALKER ST WHOLESALE BAKERY MIXED 4/5 460m

 

Sirius Lilly – missed the start and remained wide in running for the remainder of the event.

 

Race 11 - RACE REVOLUTION GRADE 5 460m

 

Galaxies – Deviated its attention from the lure towards a runner on the outside entering the front straight and near the winning post . A post-race veterinary examination revealed poor recovery however no veterinary stand down was issued.  Steward’s spoke to trainer Miss Lucy Roche regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the front straight and near the winning post. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to pursue (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Bundaberg and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

Race 12 - CARVE INDUSTRIES MA5 460m

 

Best Mate - At the trainers request due to a suspected incident in the catching pen A post-race veterinary examination revealed a nearside toe ligament injury and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 60 days and will need to perform a veterinary clearance trial before returning to racing.
