RACE REPORTS

1.

D.S.R. RACING MAIDEN 410M The beginning of this event was delayed due to the absence of an accredited judge on course. As a result all races were moved back one timeslot. PARIS AUGOGO was slow to begin. In the 1^st turn HEATHEN BRETT improved onto the heels of DISPLOSION and both greyhounds were checked. Entering the back straight DISPLOSION made contact with the running rail and lost ground. Through the back straight OSPREY LIZ improved onto the heels of BLOCKER’S ANGEL and both greyhounds were checked. The greyhound DISPLOSION underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

BIGBOY SKIP BINS NOVICE 410M ELITE AND BLACK was best to begin with GO GWAN was slow. Shortly after the start TOP TELLER was tightened and lost ground. Shortly after, SHARP INTENTION was tightened and lost ground. Approaching the top turn SHARP INTENTION improved onto the heels of TOP TELLER severely checking this greyhound and causing it to lose significant ground. Entering the home straight NO WORRIES BUDDY, GOJO MOJO all collided and were unbalanced. The greyhound TOP TELLER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

3.	THANK YOU TOWNSVILLE TRAINERS 5^th GRADE 410M MISS LARDIE DA and ABSOLUTE SERIAL were best to begin. Shortly after the start MAX ROCKET checked off heels. In the 1^st turn GLENALLON ZULU and COLLISION COURSE came together. Entering the home straight MANHATAN MAID shifted wide on the track hampering ABSOLUTE SERIAL and MAX ROCKET and both greyhounds lost ground.

4.	HEDLEY CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR CUP 5^th GRADE 544M The starting boxes were manually started in this event due to a malfunction. SPUDNUT, ZEPHYR ZEUS and KERRIE’S A MINX were all well away. Approaching the 1^st turn ATOMIC OPIE checked off the heels of IT’S HIS JOB and lost ground. NOVA PARTY and NEVILLE ROSE which were following were hampered as a result. NEVILLE ROSE lost significant ground.

5.	TUBBY OLSEN MEMORIAL 3/4^th GRADE 410M BIG BOY BATINA was best to begin while WESTOVER was slowly away. In the 1^st turn DIAMOND OLLIE was tightened and lost ground. WESTOVER which was following collided with DIAMOND OLLIE as a result and both greyhounds were checked. SMILES ALOT was wide in the home straight.

PICCONES SUPA IGA EDMONTON 5^th GRADE 410M Even start. Shortly after the start CYCLONE ROSIE was tightened between SMOOTH FLAME and GAR and lost ground. Shortly after, PRETTY ERIN, SKY BOND and ZIPPING BUBBA were tightened between SAINT’S CHARM and AMARDA and were inconvenienced. Approaching the top turn ARMARDA shifted in tightening GAR which lost ground. As a result SMOOTH FLAME was forced to check off heels and collided with PRETTY ERIN, ZIPPING BUBBA and SKY BOND and all greyhounds lost ground. In the top turn SKY BOND shifted wide and collided with SAINT’S CHARM and SMOOTH FLAME and all greyhounds were forced wide through the turn.

7.	RQ YOUNG GUNS FINAL 410M THRILLA STROKE and ALL FUELED UP were best to begin while SCOTT SPEED was marginally slow. In the 1^st turn SCOTT SPEED improved onto the heels of BURNER BANT and both greyhounds were checked. Entering the back straight THRILLA STROKE shifted in tightening ALL FUELED UP which lost ground and GUNNADOO TWIST and INNOCENT MAN which were following were hampered. DIMAOND FIESTA was wide in the top turn.

8.	CURTIS PITT M/P 4/5^th GRADE 410M The starting time for this event was revised to 9.35pm as a result of the earlier timeslot changes. Subsequently, the start of this event was delayed due to a malfunction with the mechanical lure. HIGH CLASS MISS was best to begin. In the 1^st turn MONOCHRONE, MACADAM, WENEREX and BLUEFIRE CHALICE were all tight and became unbalanced. Passing the catching pen HARA’S SIZZLE shifted in tightening HIGH CLASS MISS which lost ground.
