RACE DAY SUMMARY

GENERAL:

Stewards questioned trainer R. Lound in relation to the scratchings of MR. MACGREGOR, and MAGICAL DASH in Race 1, GLIDING MISS in Race 2 and BIG SAV in Race 4.  Mr Lound explained that he does not check his greyhounds until Wednesday afternoon which is after nominations close for Cairns.  Stewards suggested that it would be best practice to ensure greyhounds are fit to race prior to nominations.  Mr Lound was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required for each greyhound confirming the injuries prior to the greyhound starting again.
