was difficult to load delaying the start.
MONOCHRONE will be loaded first in future races. ZIPPING CARLTON was the best to begin. HE TELLS LIES was slow to begin. MONOCHRONE and GOJO MOJO bumped on the turn
into the back straight resulting in both greyhounds losing ground. SMILES ALOT raced wide in the back
straight. MONOCHRONE and SMILES ALOT

WHEEL DRIVE ATHERTON 3/4th GRADE 410M Stewards spoke to trainer R. Lound in relation to the boxing of ALL FUELED UP. Mr Lound was
advised that the time taken to box ALL FULED UP was bordering on
unacceptable. Mr Lound
stated that he would endeavour to have the greyhound boxed by a more
experienced handler in future races. ALL FUELED UP was the best to begin. ALL FUELED UP was tightened for racing room
and lost considerable ground on the turn into the back straight. LEAD CONTENDED checked off PUT THONGS ON
and lost some ground entering the back straight. CHIEF BOLT checked off LEAD CONTENDER and
lost ground in the back straight. DILSTON
BRAE and CHIEF BOLT raced wide in the front straight. |

TYRES ATHERTON BEST 8 410M Even start with BURNER BANT slow to begin. FROM THE TAP was tightened for racing room
and lost ground on the turn into the back straight. BELLA MARLO checked off HARA’S FLYER and
lost ground on the turn into the back straight. MANHATTAN MAID and CRUSHED ICE bumped on
the turn into the front straight resulting in both greyhounds becoming
unbalanced and losing ground. |

RACE DAY SUMMARY |

GENERAL: Stewards questioned trainer R. Lound in relation to the scratchings
of MR. MACGREGOR, and MAGICAL DASH in Race 1, GLIDING MISS in Race 2 and BIG
SAV in Race 4. Mr Lound
explained that he does not check his greyhounds until Wednesday afternoon
which is after nominations close for Cairns.
Stewards suggested that it would be best practice to ensure greyhounds
are fit to race prior to nominations. Mr
Lound was advised that a veterinary certificate
would be required for each greyhound confirming the injuries prior to the
greyhound starting again. FINES:
