BIRTHDAY ARTHUR GOSPER MAIDEN 410M LIBBY’S HERO was the best to begin. FABULOUS MIA was tightened for racing room
and lost ground approaching the turn into the back straight. MR. CANNA checked across the hind quarters
of TAHNE’S PICK on the turn into the back straight resulting in MR. CANNA
becoming unbalanced and shifting out bumping FABULOUS MIA forcing that
greyhound to race wide. TAHNE’S PICK
and SLATER’S PICK bumped entering the back straight resulting in both
greyhounds losing ground. MR. CANNA
raced wide into the front straight. |

NOVICE 410M CALL ME DORY was the best to begin. CALL ME DORY shifted out entering the front
straight bumping GLIDING MISS and forcing that greyhound to race wide. Stewards questioned the racing manners of
CALL ME DORY in particular in the front straight. After viewing the film of the race and
speaking with trainer A. Wooler, CALL ME DORY was
stood down from racing for a period of 28 days and the completion of a satisfactory
trial for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment in the front
straight. |

MR. MERVE to race wide into the front straight. FERAL CHERAL raced wide to the finish. |

PLUMBING BEST 8 410M Trainer E. Bryant was fined $50 under the
provisions of GAR 39.1 for presenting PUT THONGS ON to race with a weight
variation in excess of the requirements of the Rules of Greyhound
Racing. Subsequently PUT THONGS ON was
a late scratching from the race. MANHATTAN MAID was the best to begin. MANHATTAN MAID checked off HARA’S FLYER and
lost ground entering the back straight.
TOP TELLER and ATOMIC OPIE bumped entering the front straight
resulting in both greyhounds losing ground. |
