Race Reports

Race 1 – WELCOME CAIRNS HARDWARD SOCIAL CLUB MAIDEN – 410M

LITTLE BIT LOST and SHORT CUT CHARLY were best to begin. Leaving the first turn LITTLE BIT LOST was checked and lost ground. DON’T BABYLON raced wide in the back straight. In the back straight FORGOTTEN GEM checked off heels.

Race 2 – B & K AUTO NOVICE – 410M

JUST KISS IT was best to begin. Leaving the first turn HEZA CHOP CHOP was hampered as MAGIC GIZMO shifted out. Entering the top turn JUST KISS IT sustained an injury and gave considerable ground.

Race 3 – QUALITY TIMBERS MAREEBA 5^TH GRADE (1) – 410M

KY KENNETH was fractious when placed in the starting boxes and as a result upon jumping, was no longer fitted with the (8) rug it was wearing when placed into the starting boxes by the handler. Consequently KY KENNETH completed the event without a rug. Connections were informed that the greyhound would be endorsed ‘hard to box.’

SPRING BEK was best to begin while KY KENNETH was slowly away. In the first turn CHANDON ELIXIR was checked and lost ground. BANJO AN’ HENRY was hampered in the back straight.

KY KENNETH underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 4 – JEFFREY DOWN BOOKMAKER 5^TH GRADE (2) – 410M

MAXIMUM BABE and POPPA’S PICK were best to begin. Leaving the first turn JACK ADDI and GOLDENPAW FLYER were checked and lost ground. MAXIMUM BABE checked off heels and lost ground in the back straight and POPPA’S PICK was also hampered.

Race 5 – FISHERY FALLS HOTEL MIXED 3/4^TH GRADE – 410M

Even start. Leaving the first turn DREAM AMORE was hampered. In the back straight SPRING POLLY checked off heels.

Race 6 – ALOOMBA HOTEL MIXED 1/2^ND GRADE – 410M

HANNAH JAY JAY began well. In the first turn KARMA’S COMING, CREED, and BURNER BANT were checked and momentarily hampered.
