Race 1 – HANSEYS TURF MAIDEN – 366M
LITTLE
RIPPA was best to begin. PHAROAH’S GOLD
was marginally slow. Immediately after
the start, TAX COLLECTOR shifted out and checked into HOPPING MAD as it did,
with TAX COLLECTOR and HOPPING MAD racing tight and bumping over the initial
stages of the race. Soon after the
start, RUSSIAN ROULETTE and STEALTHY NIGHT came together and checked, and then
again shortly after, causing both greyhounds to lose ground. Approaching the 200m, ROMAN SILVER was
impeded and shifted in. Shortly after,
ROMAN SILVER and RUSSIAN ROULETTE checked.
Race 2 – ON THE BUNNY GREYHOUND TIPS NOVICE – 366M
ROYAL PLAY was best to
begin. FEAR TO FLY shifted in and
checked with YACHTIE immediately after the start, causing both greyhounds to
lose ground. Approaching the 200m,
CAWBOURNE FAWNY and FIRE FLY JAKE raced tight and checked. Leaving the 200m, FEAR THE FLYER and CADOGAN
raced tight and checked. Approaching the
finish line, BARDO’S MEMORY shifted out which momentarily impeded CAWBOURNE
FAWNY.
The greyhound YACHTIE
underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an
injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
Race 3 – KIOWA MON MANNY X QUARRA BALE 0457870324 MA5 –
366M
SONNY
GEORGE was best to begin, BRAVE ULYSSES was marginally slow. BRAVE ULYSSES and MAGIC SPARKLE bumped
immediately after the start. Approaching
the 200m, SONNY GEORGE shifted to the outside.
Shortly after, MAGIC SPARKLE shifted to the inside. Approaching the finish line, STAR BILLING
shifted in which impeded MAGIC SPARKLE, causing MAGIC SPARKLE to check off
heels and lose ground. BRAVE ULYSSES
shifted out off heels just prior to the finish.
The
greyhound STAR BILLING underwent a post race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
Race 4 – GHOUND SYND AUST 0490105995– 5TH GRADE
(1) – 366M
FUNNY
FELLOW was best to begin. SLICK SHANNON
shifted out and checked with PRETTY DAZZLE immediately after the start. Approaching the 200m, THUNDER OF FIRE shifted
in and checked ALPHA RHEA. At the 200m,
THUNDER OF FIRE continued to shift in and checked into REBEL KENNELLY. Shortly after, PRETTY DAZZLE shifted in which
impeded LILY’S BEAN causing that greyhound to lose
momentum.
Race 5 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUSAN HARRIS 5TH GRADE
(2) – 366M
GIRL
OVERBOARD and LOVE THE LOOK were best to begin, RISING SON was slow. At the 100m, STICKY STICKA shifted in off
heels. Just after the 200m, WILL EYE AM
checked off the heels of PRETTY SEDUCTIVE and became unbalanced. Immediately after, GIRL OVERBOARD shifted out
and collided heavily into WILL EYE AM, causing WILL EYE AM to become severely
unbalanced and lose substantial ground as a consequence. MR. APOLLO shifted in which momentarily
impeded STICKY STICKA just prior to the finish.
The
greyhound WILL EYE AM underwent a post race veterinary examination and was
found to have sustained an injury to the near shoulder blade and was stood down
for a period of 28 days.
Race 6 – SWAN PLUMBING SERVICES 5TH GRADE (3) –
366M
CLAMPET
DRYVA was best to begin, ALPHA ULYSSES was marginally slow. TSAR BOMBER shifted inwards immediately after
the start and checked with SEDUCTIVE SMILE.
Leaving the 200m, CLASSY CASSIE and MONDELLA raced tight and
checked. Inside the last 100m, CLASSY CASSIE
and CLAMPET DRYVA checked, causing CLAMPET DRYVA to lose considerable ground.
Race 7 – BECOME A MEMBER AT CAPALABA BEST 8 – 366M
TOO
MANY BILLS was best to begin and shifted to the outside immediately after the
start. CARBROOK LAD was marginally slow. Approaching the 200m, ROCKFORD, SIRIUS STAR
and CARBROOK LAD came together and checked, with all losing ground. Shortly after the 200m, CARBROOK LAD shifted
out and collided into VISIGOTH. Shortly
after the 200m, DOGMATIC commenced to yield ground. Inside the last 100m, VISIGOTH was impeded by
CARBROOK LAD and shifted inwards.
Stewards’
spoke to licensed trainer, Mr G Friend, in regards to the performance of the
greyhound DOGMATIC. Mr Friend stated
that the greyhound has had injury problems in the back muscle area, which he
has been trying to manage. Mr Friend
also stated that it’s his intention, going forward, to give the greyhound a
spell and continue to manage the injury and only race it at Capalaba, until its
impending retirement.
The
greyhound DOGMATIC underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found.
Race 8 – JPG CAPALABA GRAND PRIX – OPEN FINAL – 366M
JEANNIE DREAMING was
best to begin, with EXPONENTIAL being slow.
At the 200m, EXPONENTIAL was momentarily impeded and shifted out.
The greyhound JOYCE
RUMBLE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries
were found.
Race 9 – HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY RIPLEY & WILLIAM
4TH GRADE – 366M
CHIPPIES was best to
begin. INDIANA PRINCESS and SHOW BOUND
shifted in sharply after the start, colliding into RUDOLFINUM, NOTORIOUS HERO
and PAY THE WAY, causing all those greyhounds to lose ground. At the 100m, NOTORIOUS HERO and PAY THE WAY
raced tight and checked on a number of occasions. RUDOLFINUM was inconvenienced as a result of
that contact and checked off heels and lost ground.
