Race Reports
Race 1 – JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS MAIDEN – 366M
At
the start, MY BRO DOUGIE and BAY OF MOJO’S collided, resulting in both runners
to be checked and lose ground. Shortly
after the start, PAWTICIPATION shifted outwards with BAY OF MOJO’S having to
check to avoid that runner’s heels. Near
the 300m, VALDA THE VIKING was bumped by another runner and lost ground. Near the 200m, PAWTICIPATION and VALDA THE
VIKING checked off heels.
Race 2 – ON THE BUNNY GREYHOUND TIPS NOVICE (1) – 366M
DRUID
PRINCE, HOPPING MAD and TOOK A RHYNO were slow to begin. Near the 300m, DRUID PRINCE shifted
outwards. For the majority of the event,
PATCHE DE KAHN and ZABDON VEYRON collided on several occasions and lost
considerable ground as a consequence.
Stewards’
received a report from starter, Mr W Thomson, with regards to the difficulty in
loading HOPPING MAD and that he was required to provide assistance. After consideration, stewards’ elected to
declare the greyhound HOPPING MAD a hard-to-box greyhound for its future
engagements.
Race 3 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND NOVICE (2) – 366M
WRITTEN
IN RED and MONTRACHET both began awkwardly and were subsequently slow to
begin. Shortly after the start, TOOK A
FERGUS, FAKE NEWS, RAPID MAIL and FEAR THE FLYER all sustained interference and
were checked to varying degrees. As a
result of this incident, MONTRACHET shifted outwards. Leaving the 200m, FAKE NEWS and RAPID MAIL
collided, resulting in both runners to be checked. FEAR THE FLYER, which was racing to their
outside, was inconvenienced as a consequence.
Over the concluding stages of the event, FEAR THE FLYER checked inwards
across heels. FAKE NEWS, which was
trailing, had to check and shift outwards to avoid that runner’s heels.
The
greyhound WRITTEN IN RED underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.
Race 4 – BECOME A MEMBER @ CAPALABA 5PW – 366M
VIKING
BUDDY was marginally slow to begin. At
the start, LITTLE LIVEWIRE was tightened for room and hampered. Near the 300m, GUNNA WINK was tightened for
room and checked.
Race 5 – AC CARINA 2018 PREMIERS 5TH GRADE –
366M
Even
start. Near the 300m, VALKYRIE NIGHT
contacted the hindquarters of GYPSY’S WISH, resulting in both runners to become
severely unbalanced and lose considerable ground. Near the 100m, AVA SURPRISE and GYPY’S WISH
bumped and were hampered.
The
greyhound VALKYRIE NIGHT underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found.

Race 6 – LOVE OUR CGRC VOLUNTEERS 5TH GRADE
FINAL – 366M
At
the start, MR. APOLLO, ALPHA RHEA and OFF THE DECK collided, resulting in those
runners to be checked to varying degrees. Near the 300m, OFF THE DECK and MR.
APOLLO collided and were checked. TSAR
BOMBER, which was trailing, checked to avoid those runners’ heels. Near the 200m, MR. APOLLO checked off
heels. Near the 100m, OFF THE DECK was
tightened for room and checked.
Race 7 – WAYNE HARRIS APPRECIATION 5TH GRADE –
366M
At
the start, MAGIC PASS and GIFTED PINES bumped and were hampered. At the same time, MAKING CENTS, LION’S BLUE
and HAZE PURPLE were shifted outwards, resulting in MONTAIGNE, VIKING WHITE and
SPECIAL COVER to be tightened and checked to varying degrees. Near the 200m, SPECIAL COVER was tightened
for room and checked. Near the 100m,
MONTAIGNE was bumped by another runner and hampered.
Race 8 – TREVOR MCSHERRY APPRECIATION 4TH GRADE
– 366M
At the start, all runners, with the exception
of WINGS OF PERLITA, CAWBOURNE BIGRED and RODOLFINUM, were tightened for room
and checked to varying degrees. Through
the early and middle stages, LADY PERLITA bumped with a number of runners and
lost significant ground as a consequence.
Race 9 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND BEST 8 – 366M
VISIGOTH, GUTENBERG and TOO MANY BILLS were
marginally slow to begin. Shortly after
the start, SNOWBALL OTTO shifted outwards abruptly. TOO MANY BILLS, which was trailing, improved
onto that runner’s hindquarters, resulting in SNOWBALL OTTO to be severely
checked and lose significant ground.
Near the 150m, SNOWBALL OTTO checked off heels. Over the concluding stages, SNOWBALL OTTO
steadied to avoid the heels of another runner.
The greyhound SNOWBALL OTTO underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
