Capalaba Greyhounds

Race 1: ONTHECLOCK FOR TRIALS MAIDEN – 366m SON OF VILLA began awkwardly. FABIAN FEAST shifted inwards at the start and was subsequently slow to begin. Approaching the 300m, RILEY ROO checked off the heels of VALEGRO when that runner shifted outwards.
Race 2: KEYBOW @ STUD MAIDEN FINAL – 366m BLACK HONEY was marginally slow to begin. At the start TWICE THE SIZE shifted outwards and tightened the running of SECOND SOLUTION and MEERKAT WARRIOR, resulting in those greyhounds to bump and lose ground. Shortly after the start, BLACK HONEY shifted inwards and lost ground. Approaching the 200m CROCODILE TEARS shifted outwards and collided with CENTRE FIELD resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. From the 100m, CROCODILE TEARS continued to shift outwards and collided with CENTRE FIELD on a number of occasions resulting in both runners to be severely checked and to lose considerable ground.
Race 3: GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM NOVICE – 366m At the start DRUID PRINCE, CROCODILE SMILE and WALTZING BANJO were tightened between runners and were subsequently slow to begin. Shortly after the start FANCY MOON collided with DRUID PRINCE, resulting in that runner to be checked and shift outwards while losing ground. Near the 250m, TIMES A BONUS checked off heels when WALTZING BANJO shifted outwards. Near the 150m, FAKE NEWS checked off the heels of another runner and lost ground. Near the 100m, TIMES A BONUS checked off the heels of another and lost ground.
Race 4: BUYABALE.COM NOVICE – 366m JEZEBEL’S JEWEL and CAMPFIRE KID began awkwardly and were subsequently slow to begin. At the start COUNTRY SPIRIT was tightened between runners and checked. Near the 200m, JEZEBEL’S JEWEL checked off the heels of another runner. Leaving the 200m, WERINA ROCKET checked off the heels of COLOR PURPLE, when that runner shifted outwards.
COUNTRY SPIRIT underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the offside hind leg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Race 5: HYDRO PET CARE GRADE 5 – 366m COUNTRY DYNAMITE began very awkwardly, shifted inwards and contacted the heels of EYE HATE CAKE and STANKY LEG resulting those greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. Shortly after the start BOGAN DANCER and WINGS OF PERLITA collided resulting in both runners to be checked and to lose ground. Near the 200m, BOGAN DANCER was tightened between runners and momentarily hampered. Shortly after, GUNNA WINK shifted inwards across heels and lost ground. Near the 100m, STAR BILLING shifted inwards across heels and lost ground.
Race 6: CORNERSTONE RISK MANAGEMENT GRADE 5 – 366m At the start, CHANCES was tightened between runners, severely checked and fell, taking no further competitive part in the event. LOGAN STORM was checked during this incident and lost ground. Near 250m, COMMODUS and TWEED GOVENER collided and lost ground. Near the 200m, SWEET TALKING was bumped by another runner and shifted outwards. Near the 100m, IMA TALKER raced greenly. Shortly after, BANJO BLUES checked out across that runners heels. Also at this stage in the event, WICKLA shifted inwards across and became momentarily unbalanced.
CHANCES underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no abnormalities were found.
Race 7: SHANE MURPHY PAINTING 5TH GRADE FINAL – 366m SLICK SHANNON was declared a late scratching at 11:49am under veterinary advice when the greyhound was found to have an ear infection. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
NEED A MIRACLE was tightened between runners at the start and lost ground. Near the 250m, NEED A MIRACLE shifted inwards across heels and became momentarily unbalanced. Near the 100m, REAR VIEW was bumped by another runner and lost ground.
Race 8: JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS MIXED 3/4 – 366m At the start, HOOT, ALWAYS ALBURY, VISIGOTH and FREE SPIRIT were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees. Shortly after the start, FREE SPIRIT shifted outwards and collided with ALL ABOUT TIGER resulting in both runners to be checked and to lose ground. Near the 300m, HOOT shifted inwards and collided with OUTA BUSINESS resulting in both runners to be checked and to lose ground. Approaching the 250m, FREE SPIRIT commenced to give ground and finished a distant last. Leaving the 200m, THANKING PETER checked off the heels of another runner and lost ground.
FREE SPIRIT underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the nearside back muscle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Race 9: BEV TEALE APPRECIATION MIXED 3/4 – 366m TORAH SPRITE was slow to begin. Near the 300m, LUCILE RUMBLE shifted inwards and collided with CAKES ALL ROUND resulting in both runners to be checked. Near the 100m, KRYPTONITE JAKE shifted inwards and collided with IRISH RIPPLE resulting in both runners to be checked. Over the concluding stages TIGHT CIRCLE was tightened between runners and lost ground.
Race 10: WWW.CAPALABAGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE PATHWAYS – 366m CHASING DOLLARS was slow to begin. BACK OFF shifted inwards at the start and collided with PATTAYA GIRL resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose ground. Shortly after the start, HARA’S STEVO and CHANCE ME BRO bumped. Near the 300m, PATTAYA GIRL shifted outwards and collided with CHASING DOLLARS, which shifted outwards and tightened the running of CHANCE ME BRO and HARA’S STEVO resulting in all of those runners to be checked to varying degrees. Near the 250m, HARA’S STEVO took an awkward stride and became momentarily unbalanced. Near the 200m, ODESSA commenced to give ground and tailed off from the field. Over the concluding stages CHANCE ME BRO checked off heels.
ODESSA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the nearside pin muscle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Race 11: CAPALABA GREYHOUNDS ON INSTAGRAM GRADE 5 – 366m JET BLACK STAR and MAHONEY bumped shortly after the start and lost ground. Near the 250m, JET BLACK STAR checked off the heels of HAZE PURPLE when that runner shifted outwards. Near the 200m, HAZE PURPLE and MAHONEY bumped and lost ground. Just prior to the winning post, MAHONEY eased for a number of strides.
MAHONEY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no abnormalities were found. Stewards advised S. Lawrence, the trainer of MAHONEY, that the greyhound would be stood down pursuant to GAR69A (Failing to Pursue). As this was the greyhounds first (1st) offence under this rule, stewards ordered that it be stood down for a period of 28 days at Capalaba and must complete a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to being permitted to race again at any track.
Race 12: THANK YOU BEV TEALE GRADE 5 – 366m At the start COUNTRY GRENADE began awkwardly and shifted inwards, and MISS FERNANDO shifted outwards, with both greyhounds colliding with CAPTAIN’S KNOCK, resulting in those runners to be checked to varying degrees. Shortly after the start COUNTRY GRENADE shifted inwards abruptly and lost ground. Over the concluding stages FIVE OF SPADES checked off heels. ___________________________ Race day Summary
