General:

Stewards today concluded an inquiry into a report concerning the straying of greyhounds at a public park in Capalaba on the 16th of January. Trainer R Hamilton pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to GAR86(o) in that on the 16th of January he negligently allowed a greyhound in his control to stray in a public place. After considering submissions on penalty which included his extensive involvement over 25 years in the greyhound racing industry, his disciplinary record and the circumstances surrounding the incident, a fine of $400 was imposed with $200 wholly suspended for a period of 12 months on the assurance that R Hamilton does not offend during this period. Trainer R Hamilton was advised of his right to an internal review.

 

Further, stewards directed that Trainer R Hamilton be limited to the handling of two greyhounds in a public area at any time.

3 Zada – Shifted out and clipped heels shortly after the start.

 

4 My Dark Lorian – Shifted out and checked other runners shortly after the start.

 

6 Busted Axel – Checked shortly after the start. Shifted in shortly after the start. Checked and became unbalanced approaching the 100m.

 

7 Aria Marrie – Checked shortly after the start. Checked leaving the 100m.

 

8 Celtic Ripple – Came up with the lids. Shifted in shortly after the start.

 

 

Race 3 - Just Greyhound Photos Maiden (2) 366m

 

2 Remitting – Commenced to give ground in open running approaching the 200m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Charged under R69A Failing To Pursue 28 days at Capalaba and 1 stewards trial.

 

3 Tackleberry – Shifted out at the 200m.

 

4 Alpha Ollie – Bumped shortly after the start. Shifted in at the 200m.

 

6 Stand By Me – Bumped shortly after the start.

 

7 Typhoon Mae – Bumped shortly after the start.

 

8 Black Shimmer – Clipped heels leaving the 200m.

 

 

Race 4 - Errol Suell Novice (1) 366m

 

1 Alpha Calypso – Checked approaching the 200m. Checked and became unbalanced leaving the 100m. Stewards had concerns with the greyhound action leaving the 100m but could not be comfortable satisfied that the greyhound had offended any rules of racing and was given the benefit of the doubt.

 

3 Where's The Nova – Checked shortly after the start. Shifted out approaching the 200m.

 

4 Frankie's Rose – Checked shortly after the start.

 

5 Solo Ripple – Shifted out and checked other runners shortly after the start.

 

6 Doc Smeethy – Checked shortly after the start. Checked approaching the 200m.

2 Pinkowski – Checked shortly after the start. Bumped approaching the 200m.

 

3 Impatient Miss – Bumped approaching the 200m. Checked leaving the 100m.

 

4 Tweed Dolly – Bumped approaching the 200m.  Bumped approaching the finishing line.

 

5 Myra's Girl – Slipped coming out of the boxes.

 

6 Khaleesi Loretta – Clipped heels and became unbalanced approaching the 200m. Bumped approaching the finishing line.

 

 

Race 8 - Keybow @ Stud Mixed 3/4 366m

 

1 Spritely Maiden – Checked approaching the 200m. Shifted out at the 200m.

 

2 Katana – Checked approaching the 200m. Shifted out approaching the 100m.

 

3 Crackerjack Soc – Clipped heels and shifted in and gave no further competitive part in the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the nearside hip support and stood down for 21 days.

 

4 Under Shot Mail – Shifted out and checked other runner shortly after the start. Checked approaching the 200m.

 

5 Pepe Le Fleur – Tightened for racing room shortly after the start. Checked at the 200m.

 

6 Quick Storm – Checked shortly after the start. Checked approaching the 200m. Checked on numerous occasions leaving the 100m.

Prier to the all clear stewards viewed the race footage to ascertain a fair start was affected, after reviewing race footage stewards were comfortably satisfied that a fair start was afford to all runners and subsequently the all clear was given.

2 Duck Inn – Bumped shortly after the start. Shifted out and checked other runners approaching the 200m.

 

3 Not Scared – Checked shortly after the start. Checked, clipped heels and shifted in approaching the 200m.

 

4 Laporte – Tightened for racing room shortly after the star. Shifted out and checked other runners approaching the 200m. Bumped at the 200m. Clipped heels approaching the 100m.
