Race 1 - JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS MAIDEN 366m

 

2 Davey Boy – Severely checked and dragged down shortly after the start. Checked approaching the 200m. Underwent two post- race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Charged under GAR129 Unsatisfactory Performance requiring a satisfactory trial to return to racing.

 

4 Run For Ruby – Checked and inconvenienced shortly after the start. Checked approaching the 200m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury.

 

Race 2 - DON AND DENISE NOVICE 366m

 

2 Then Came You – Underwent an extensive veterinary examination during kennelling that was requested by trainer and was declared fit to race. Slipped coming out of the boxes. Checked shortly after the start. Checked and inconvenienced approaching the 200m. Checked and inconvenienced leaving the 200m. Beaten favourite, a post-race swab was collected. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the nearside pin muscle and stood down for 7 days. Stewards spoke to Mr M.Vaughan in relations to the greyhounds performance which he stated that the racing interference and injury sustained during the race was the major factor on todays performance. Mr Vaughan also stated that he did not support the greyhound, and this is his normal practice for all races.

 

6 Shian Coco – Stewards declared this greyhound hard to box in future events.

 

Race 3 - ANNUAL PEST MANAGEMENT GRADE 5 (1) 366m

 

8 Peyton’s Wish – Shifted in and checked another runner shortly after the start. Checked approaching the 200m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Ms Howarth regarding the performance which she stated that the greyhound hadn’t raced for nearly three months and was the first race at Capalaba. Stewards noted her comments.

 

 

 

Race 4 - TREVOR MCSHERRY CLASSIC GRADE 5 (2) 366m

 

8 Calypso Ripple – Shifted in and clipped heels approaching the 200m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the Nearside hind leg laceration and stood down for 14 days.

 

 

 

Race 5 - HAPPY 50TH MYRA GRADE 4 366m

Race 6 - SENTENCED AT STUD MIXED 3/4 366m

Race 7 - WYNNUM HAULAGE BEST 8 366m

 

R3 Beck and Call – Checked shortly after the start. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the Offside hind back muscle and stood down for 28 days, requires injury trial to return to racing.

Race 9 - MELBOURNE CUP @ CAPALABA GREYS GRADE 5 (3) 366m

 

R9 Black Abbott – Shifted in and checked shortly after the start. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the Nearside back muscle and stood down for 28 days, requiring an injury trial to return to racing.
