2 Wally’s Boy – Commenced to give ground leaving the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off hind toe and was subsequently stood down for 10 days. |

2 Indian Heat – Turned its head to the outside towards another runner approaching the finish line. A post-race veterinary revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off side hip and was subsequently stood down for 10 days. Stewards spoke to trainer N Connell regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Ms N Connell, stewards deemed Indian Heat had taken its attention away from the lure therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Indian Heat was suspended from racing at Capalaba for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial. |
