The greyhound DAZE FLYBY performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.39.

 

Return to Racing Trial 2 – 431m

The greyhound TINY TURNER performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.20.

SPRING HORNET was best to begin.  THROTTLE ON was tightened for racing room shortly after the start, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ALOTA CONTROL shifted in which tightened the racing room of BENTAXLE causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  Leaving the back straight TROTTLE ON and BENTAXLE collided causing both greyhounds to be checked.

SKY RACING MAIDEN 431M

LADY TECHNO and AVOID DAMAGE were best to begin. Shortly after the start MISSED CONTROL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight JOYCIE CORSAIR, MISSED CONTROL, BEST STRATEGY and ZIVA’S LASS were all checked as a result of tight racing.  In the back straight JOYCIE CORSAIR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight LADY TECHNO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  PENCIL raced wide in the front straight.

ROSEWOOD & DISTRICT COMMUNITY BANK NOVICE 431M

Even start.  Approaching the turn into the back straight GUN DANCER, ELL’S ALL CLASS and TECHNO LADY were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost some ground.  LOVE YOU ALOT was hampered as a result of this incident.  Leaving the back straight ROSDUE SPRITE shifted in which tightened the racing room of COMPETE CONTROL, causing the greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  TECHNO LADY raced wide rounding the home turn.  COMPLETE CONTROL contacted the running rail shortly after the finish of the race.

 

The greyhound COMPLETE CONTROL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

GREYHOUND-DATA.COM 5th GRADE HEAT 1 431M

Even start.  WILDASH TAPPER, BAIDEN ROSE HI, ALLOYD CHARM and HURRICANE CHANCE all raced tight shortly after the start.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ALLOYD CHARM shifted in which tightened the racing room of WILDASH TAPPER and BAIDEN ROSE HI causing these greyhounds to be checked.  Shortly after SPANKY’S LEGEND shifted in which tightened the racing room of PURELY PENNY causing that greyhound to shift in and tightened the racing room of ALLOYD CHARM, resulting in ALLOYD CHARM and PURELY PENNY to be checked and lose ground.  SPANKY’S LEGEND raced wide in the back straight.  Leaving the back straight ALLOYD CHARM made heavy contact with the hindquarters of WILDASH TAPPER causing that greyhound to be severely checked.

 

The greyhound WILDASH TAPPER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

SCOTT O’TOOLE PAINTER 5th GRADE HEAT 2 431M

WESTERN HONEY was best to begin.  SWITCHIN’ SIDES was slow out.  Shortly after the start SPRING AGUSTUS shifted in which tightened the racing room of SPRING OUT, WOOROOLIN SHADOW, WATTA STEP UP and DODGE DANCER, causing all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  SWITCHIN’ SIDES was checked as a result of this incident.  DODGY DANCER raced wide in the back straight.  Leaving the back straight WATTA STEP UP and SWITCHIN’ SIDES collided causing both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the home turn WATTA STEP UP and SWITCHIN’ SIDES again collided causing both greyhounds to be checked.

O’REILLY PET FOODS 4/5th GRADE 520M

GRIN AND WIN was best to begin.  MR. REALITY was slow out.  Leaving the front straight BYE BYE shifted out which momentarily hampered BLACK COBIA.  Leaving the back straight BEACH FRONT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  BLACK COBIA eased in the back straight.

 

Steward advised trainer Ms. J Price that the greyhound BLACK COBIA would be charged under Rule 69 (B) Failing to Pursue with injury, 1st offence plus a satisfactory stewards trial 520m all track.  The greyhound was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

C2C CONSTRUCTIONS 4/5th GRADE FINAL 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start DASHING CHARGER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after MAYWYN ZILCH was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  LIL’ BIT SPARKY was checked as a consequence of this incident.  Leaving the back straight SLAYER RETURN made contact with the hindquarters of SWITCH BLADE, resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SPRING RAYMOND and CALL ME AUSSIE collided.  In the front straight SLAYER RETURN and SWITCH BLADE collided.

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 3/4th GRADE 431M

WILDASH WARRIOR was best to begin.  Shortly after the start STANDOUT, MR. TRANSPORTER and SWEET AS BETH all raced tight.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SWEET AS BETH contacted the heels of LARA SAINT and was checked.  MANYARA MISS, STANDOUT and MR. TRANSPORTER which were all trailing were all checked as a consequence.

TWO BEERS, BILLY ROSE HI and PENNYLESS were best to begin.  SPRING TWIG and MAGICAL GIRL raced tight shortly after the start.  Approaching the turn into the back straight WALLOON WIZARD and HEZA SIZE UP collided which resulted in HEZA SIZE UP shifting out and making contact with MAGICAL GIRL, causing both greyhounds to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the back straight BILLY ROSE HI checked off the heels of PENNYLESS.  Leaving the back straight WALLOON WIZARD was tightened for racing room, and momentarily hampered.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT – Thursday 17 March 2016

An Inquiry was opened into the circumstances surrounding the use of Michael Brauer’s training facilities by licenced trainer Tony Zammit.  Mr Zammit was found guilty under Local Rule 52 (3) for utilising Michael Brauer’s training facility without gaining permission from Racing Queensland and was fined $100.
