Stewards Trial 1 – 520m

The greyhound ROCKY BE GOOD performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.68and is now cleared all tracks except Brisbane until after 24 June 2016.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

HEZA NOIR, NOIRE CHERIE and SPRING MIA were best to begin.  Rounding the 1st turn JUST SIZE, BARTHOLOMEW, MOVIE MARATHON and NOIRE CHERIE were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight HEZZ NOIR and SPRING MIA collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  Shortly after SHOTGUN and JUST SIZE collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  In the back straight BARTHOLOMEW shifted out and made contact with JUST SIZE causing that greyhound to be checked.  SHOTGUN which was racing to the outside of JUST SIZE was checked as a consequence.  Both JUST SIZE and SHOTGUN lost considerable ground as a result of this incident.  Approaching the turn into the front straight NOIRE CHERIE crossed over the heels of SECRET RIVER and was momentarily hampered.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 1 431M

SUNNYSIDE PARK, MINSTREL MAN, BRONCO BOY, HIRED GOON and GO THE SPOILS were best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn BRONCO BOY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight GALWAY EAGLE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

ALPHA FINANCIAL SERVICES MAIDEN HEAT 2 431M

BEC’S DIAMOND and CURL THE WAVE were best to begin.  KAYLE THE FIRST was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BLACK AQUILA, INVERGARRY LADY and PAIR OF ACES were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight INVERGARRY LADY raced tight inside GEMMA BENZ for a short distance and was momentarily hampered.

 

The greyhound GEMMA BENZ underwent a post race Veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GATTON TYRE SERVICE MAIDEN FINAL 431M

Even start with the exception of SHEZA JEWEL which was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn FROSTY AJAY, COME TOGETHER, LOGAN CITY, DOWN SIZED UP and ISLA’S STYLE were all checked due to tight racing and lost ground to varying degrees.  ISLA’S OPAL and CYNO SNIP which were trailling were checked as a consequence.  In the back straight DOWN SIZED UP contacted the hindquarters of LOGAN CITY and lost ground as a consequence.  Leaving the back straight FROSTY AJAY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

ROSEWOOD & DISTRCIT COMMUNITY BANK NOVICE 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start IMA TALENT and HERE FOR YOU were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Racing through the 1st turn VEGA, HANNAH ALLEN and CUT THE CAKE all raced tight resulting in each greyhound being checked and lose ground.  HERE FOR YOU which was trailling was checked as a consequence.  Entering the back straight VEGA and CUT THE CAKE collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked and losing ground.  VEGA raced wide in the back straight.  GEM EXPRESS and HERE FOR YOU bumped rounding the home turn.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE 431M

ULTIMATE STAR and FAMECHON were best to begin.  Entering the back straight FAMECHON was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the home turn HER STORY and FAMECHON collided.  WILD ELITE gave ground over the concluding stages.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Attard that the greyhound WILD ELITE would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks prior to nominating.  The greyhound underwent a post race Veterinarian examination and found to have suffering cramping and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

GJ WALSH & CO 5th GRADE HEAT 1 520M

The start of this race was delayed due to a malfunction of the starting boxes and consequently the start was started manually.

 

MAGIC FLY HIGH was best to begin. SUNNYSIDE JAY was slow out and shifted out shortly after the start.  SHAYLOR SAM contacted the running rail rounding the turn out of the front straight and was checked as a consequence.  BAD MOON MAGIC and ALPHA PLUTO which were racing to its outside was checked as a consequence.  Leaving the back straight SIZEABLE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after SHAYLOR SAM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound SHAYLOR SAM underwent a post race Veterinarian examination no apparent injuries were found.

8.

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 5th GRADE HEAT 2 520M

HOPEFUL JACK, INNER WISDOM, LONESOME DUK and KNEW YOU WOULD were best to begin.  VENETIAN RESULTS and MY AWESOME MAGIC were tightened for racing room shortly after the start and lost ground.  SPEAR IT was slow to begin.  Leaving the front straight THURSDAY WISH was tightened for racing room, shifted out and made contact with VENETIAN RESULTS causing that greyhound to become unbalanced and fall and took no further part in the race.  LONESOME DUK and KNEW YOU WOULD both raced wide in the back straight.

 

The greyhound VENETIAN RESULTS underwent a post race Veterinarian examination and found to have suffered an injury to the near fore leg and was humanely euthanised.

ROSEWOOD & DISTRICT COMMUNITY BANK 4/5th GRADE 431M

ALPHA MIMOS was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SPRING BIG IRON, SNOWBALL BOB, SPRING FIRECHIEF and LEHMAN BENZ all raced tight.  Leaving the back straight SNOWBALL BOB contacted the running rail and gave ground.

 

The greyhound SNOWBALL BOB underwent a post race Veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

ASTIN’S WARRIOR was best to begin.  Shortly after the start KIKEM SPRINGER and ELITE MARJ collided.  Racing through the 1st turn ONYA BENZ and ELITE MARJ raced tight resulting in ELITE MARJ being checked and lose ground.  HURRICANE CHANCE which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  In the back straight SNOW RUNNER made heavy contact with the hindquarters of ONYA BENZ resulting in that greyhound being checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight HURRICANE CHANCE shifted in and made contact with BEC’S STORM resulting in both greyhounds falling and taking no further competitive part in the race.  ELITE MARJ was checked as a result of this incident.

 

The greyhound HURRICANE CHANCE underwent a post race Veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BEC’S STORM underwent a post race Veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.
