Stewards Trial 1 – 431m

The greyhound SPIKE BENZ performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.91.

 

The greyhound LEAH BENZ performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.94.

 

The greyhound SHERIDON performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.44.

 

RACE REPORTS

Even start with the exception of SPRING POLLY which was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn NOIRE CHERIE, TIZZYWING, SPRING POLLY, SPRING DEAL, VEE BEE DOOLEY and EUROA KATE raced tight resulting in all greyhounds being checked to varying degrees.  Entering the back straight NOIRE CHERIE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SPRING DEAL which was trailling was hampered as a result as a consequence and then raced wide in the back straight.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight TIZZYWING was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight EUROA KATE made contact with the running rail, shifted out and was checked as a consequence.  VEE BEE DOOLEY and SPRING DEAL which were racing to its outside were checked as a consequence.  VEE BEE DOOLEY and SPRING DEAL which were racing to its outside were checked as a result of this incident.  Approaching the turn into the front straight SCAREDY CAT improved onto the heels of EUROA QUEENIE and was hampered as a consequence.

 

The greyhound EUROA KATE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 431M

Even start.  Leaving the 1st turn BRASS ROAD improved onto the heels of RAGNAR LOTHBROK resulting in that greyhound being checked and to lose ground.  Entering the back straight BRASS ROAD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight RAGNAR LOTHBROK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  RIGHT AS RAIN which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence.  TOP TIP HOORAY which was trailling was checked as a consequence.

ROSEWOOD & DISTRICT COMMUNITY BANK MAIDEN FINAL 431M

FARMOR FOR SHORE, INVERGARRY LADY and REAL CALL were best to begin.  MAGGIE BENZ was slow out.  Through the 1st turn INVERGARRY LADY and REAL CALL collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked and lose ground.  HOLD MY BEER, MAGGIE BENZ and RISING HAWKE which were trailling were checked as a consequence.  Leaving the back straight HOLD MY BEER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound HOLD MY BEER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

ALPHA FINANCIAL SERVICES NOVICE 431M

HEZA NOIR was best to begin.  BENMESSO was slow out.  Through the 1st turn SUBTITLE, HEZA NOIR and WEE BIT LUCKY raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be hampered.  LIGHTNING WHITE which was racing to the outside of WEE BIT LUCKY was checked as a consequence.  Approaching the turn into the back straight BENMESSO improved onto the heels of I’M OUTTA HERE resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight HEZE NOIR and WEE BIT LUCKY collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Leaving the back straight WEE BIT LUCKY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

GATTON TYRE SERVICE NOVICE 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start JAYDEN’S A STAR shifted out which tightened the racing room of ZABDON CHEVY, MILKY CHANCE, ANYKEY and TOMMY BENZ resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and momentarily hampered.  Through the 1st turn TOMMY BENZ was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE HEAT 1 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start ELITE MARJ and BIRKDALE BANDIT were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight BIG TRIGGER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SPRITLY LADY which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ELITE MARJ checked onto the heels of BIG TRIGGER and was checked as a consequence.  BELLA LEE which was trailling was checked as a result of this incident.

GJ WALSH & CO 5th GRADE HEAT 2 520M

Even start.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight COMMUNITY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after SOUTHERN FLOSS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SPRING SHANAE which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence.  Approaching the turn into the back straight GIFTED ANGEL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight CASEY UNDERCOVER commenced to give ground sharply.  SUGAR RAY ROSSO which was trailling was momentarily hampered.

 

The greyhound CASEY UNDERCOVER was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the back and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

GENTABLUE PET FOODS 4/5th GRADE 431M

CHEEKY CHEECH, HEZ SO FAST, TORQUE FLIGHT, SPRING SHANGHAI and GOLD TOTAL were best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn HEZ SO FAST and TORQUE FLIGHT were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn CHEEKY CHEECH was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SPRING SHANGHAI and ANGELIC MISS which were racing to its outside were checked as a consequence.  Leaving the back straight BRALYN BAUPLE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after ANGELIC MISS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the front straight in the run to the finish CHEEKY CHEECH and TORQUE FLIGHT collided.

ROSEWOOD & DISTRICT COMMUNITY BANK 5th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start LITTLE ACH CEE and ZABDON VUITTON were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn SUNDAY SUNRISE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight FAMECHON was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight LITTLE ACH CEE improved onto the heels of TWISTED and was momentarily hampered.

 

The greyhound FAMECHON was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near hind and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Even start.  Through the 1st turn WITHCOTT FLYER and ROMANA PRINCESS were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after the start GINGER BENZ and ASTIN’S WARRIOR were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight ASTIN’S WARRIOR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after ZABDON NUGGET was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  DEB’S PENNY which was trailling was checked as a consequence
