Stewards Trial 1 – 520m

The greyhound BRONSTER failed a stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m.

 

The greyhound LITTLE MADAM performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 31.19 is now cleared all tracks except Brisbane.

 

Stewards Trial 1 – 431m

The greyhound DAYSEAS ASTRA performed a satisfactory Whelping trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.64.

ICE PANTHER, SMASHNIAK BARC, SACRED SHIELD and MONLOR KIM were best to begin.  SHAYLOR HULA was slow out.  Shortly after the start JUST SIZE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after SMASHNIAK BARC and SACRED SHIELD collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked and lose ground.  Through the 1st turn SMASHNIAK BARC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SHAYLOR HULA raced wide in the back straight.  Approaching the turn into the front straight ICE PANTHER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

SKY RACING MAIDEN 431M

FROSTY VANE, MONLOR RON, NEDGO HEATHER and BACK SCRATCHER were best to begin.  Shortly after the start MONLOR RON, NEDGO HEATHER and BACK SCRATCHER raced tight resulting in NEDGO HEATHER and BACK SCRATCHED being checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight EUROA QUEENIE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight MONLOR RON and NEDGO HEATHER collided heavily resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  EUROA KATE which was trailing was severely checked and as a consequence fell and took no further competitive part in the race.

 

The greyhound EUROA KATE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side fibula and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

ROSEWOOD & DISTRICT COMMUNITY BANK NOVICE 431M

HARBOUR GYPSY, MARLOW’S WALTZ, HANNAH ALLEN and CASSIOPEIA were best to begin.  Through the 1st turn I’M OUTTA HERE and GNARLEY GIRL raced tight resulting in both greyhounds to be momentarily hampered.  Shortly after PARTY FOR TWO improved onto the heels of CASSIOPEIA and was checked as a consequence.  Entering the back straight I’M OUTTA HERE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

BARTHOLOMEW, VALENTINO JACK, SPRING CRUSHER and BOGIE MIRACLE were best to begin.  FIREFLY JAMES was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn VALENTINO JACK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight JACKSON FIVE improved onto the heels of BARTHOLOMEW was checked, shifted out and made contact with FIREFLY JAMES resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight CLOVER KNOX was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  VALENTINO JACK which was racing on its outside was checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight CLOVER KNOX and JACKSON FIVE were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the front straight ZABDON CHEVY and FIREFLY JAMES collided resulting in ZABDON CHEVY being checked and lose ground.

SCOTT O’TOOLEY PAINTER 5th GRADE HEAT 1 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start ZABDON VUTTON was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after GRAVITY WOLF and SPRING BIG IRON collided resulting in GRAVITY WOLF being checked and lose ground.  Through the 1st turn ZABDON VUITTON was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after SPRING BIG IRON and GRAVITY WOLF collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight CHEECKY CHEECH was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight CHEEKY CHEECH shifted out and raced wide.  GRAVITY WOLF which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence and raced wide.  Leaving the back straight NINA ROSE HI was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound NINA ROSE HI was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

O’REILLY PET FOODS 5th GRADE HEAT 2 431M

The start of this race was delayed when LIGHTNING WHITE proved difficult to box.  Steward advised trainer Ms. M Goodwin that the greyhound LIGHTNING WHITE papers would be endorsed ‘Hard to Box’ for future events.

 

PENCIL was best to begin.  SPRING SHELLEY was slow out.  Through the 1st turn SPRING SHELLEY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the 1st turn HARRY BENZ was tightened for racing room, and made contact with the running rail and checked as a consequence.  RYLI’S RAMBO, FIRELY ERN and SPRING HONEY which were all racing to its outside were checked as a consequence.  Entering the back straight HARRY BENZ was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound HARRY BENZ was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

C2C CONSTRUCTIONS 5th GRADE FINAL 431M

Even start.  Leaving the 1st turn WALLOON SMARTIE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight BUBBLE GUPPY improved onto the heels of MINISTREL MAN and was checked as a consequence.  Leaving the back straight WALLOON SMARTIE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight MINISTREL MAN shifted out and turned its head and made muzzle contact with BEETOWN TOMMY which effectively marred its running.  Entering the front straight WILDASH WILDBOY shifted out and made muzzle contact with BEETOWN TOMMY which effectively marred its running.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. M Emery that the greyhound MINSTREL MAN would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

 

Stewards advised trainer Msr. J Miggins that the greyhound WILDASH WILDBOY would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 3/4th GRADE 431M

VICKI ROSE HI was best to begin.  In the back straight DON’T GO QUIETLY improved onto the heels of VICKI ROSE HI and was checked as a consequence.  ROMEO RAGTOP and LONE GUN which were racing to its outside were checked as a result of this incident.  Shortly after SPRING DODGER retired from the race.

 

The greyhound SPRING DODGER was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was humanely euthanised.

ROSEWOOD & DISTRIC COMMUNITY BANK 5th GRADE HEAT 3 431M

Through the 1st turn LEHMAN BENZ, LITE ME UP, BRALYN LUIGI and SPRING MIA were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight SPRING MIA contacted the running rail and was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

 

The greyhound SPRING MIA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start with the exception of FYRE GAL which was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start NOT THE ONE, OUT WEST and SHAYLOR JAKE raced tight and checked as a consequence.  Shortly after BAIDEN ROSE HI and DOLLY BLOO were tightened for racing room and checked as a consequence.  NOT THE ONE, MISS ESPOSITO, OUT WEST and SHAYLOR JAKE which were trailing were checked as a consequence.  Approaching the turn into the front straight OUT WEST was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the front straight FYRE GAL and MISS ESPOSITO collided on a number of occasions.
