Stewards Trial 1 – 431m

The greyhound ARDEN STREET performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.42.

 

The greyhound KLOMPUS performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.27.

 

The greyhound LONGTIME COMIN’ performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.61.

 

The greyhound RUN RIVA RUN performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 431m in a time of 26.11

MONLOR KIM was best to begin.  HUNTER’S A STAR, JUST SIZE and BLUSHING MEL were slow out.  Approaching the 1st turn SHAYLOR BART and PIZARRO collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked.  JUST SISZE which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SHAYLOR BART and PIZARRO collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked with PIZARRO shifting out and colliding with RYAN ROAD, which in turn shifted out and made heavy contact with BLUSHING MEL, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

SKY RACING MAIDEN 431M

TOOTHLESS STEVE, ROSDUE LOMBO, THUNDER OF FIRE and SMASHNIAK STORM were best to begin.  MADAM INDI and FABELLA were marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn TOOTHLESS STEVE, ROSDUE LOMBO and SMASHNIAK STORM raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose some ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight TOOTHLESS STEVE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  FABELLA, THUNDER OF FIRE and SMASHNIAK STORM which were all trailing were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  TOOTHLESS STEVE raced wide rounding the turn out of the back straight.

Even start with the exception of SPIRING NAKANO which was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn EUROA KATE and NOVELLA collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  Shortly after HEATONS’ GIRL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight MR. BELLISSIMO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the front straight SPRING NAKANO checked across the heels of ROSDUE CARBINE and was hampered as a consequence.  Leaving the back straight HEATON’S GIRL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Even start with the exception of RUMBLING JAKE which was marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn BENTAXLE and SUNNYSIDE SURF were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  ICE PANTHER, RUMBLING JAKE and SUNNYSIDE PARK which were racing to the outside were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Entering the back straight JAYDEN’S A STAR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

SCOTT O’TOOLE PAINTER NOVICE 431M

Even start with the exception of MAGGIE BENZ which was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn FIREFLY LADY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ALLPA MAMA improved onto the heels of KIRKHAM ZOEY and was hampered as a consequence. DISTANT SHORES raced wide for the majority of the race.  Leaving the back straight FIREFLYN LADY was tightened for racing room, and momentarily hampered.  ROSDUE SPRITE raced wide entering the front straight.

O’REILLY PET FOODS 5th GRADE HEAT 1 431

PAVLYUCHENKOVA and MOTORIN’ CIDER were best to begin.  Shortly after the start OUR CHALLENGE and BEACH FRONT collided as well as REIYN CHAAI and FIREFLY ERN collided.  Approaching the 1st turn OUR CHALLENGE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight RAPID ROSE improved onto the heels of BLACK RHINO resulting in BLACK RHINO to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the front straight RAPID ROSE and OUR CHALLENGE collided.  Approaching the turn into the back straight PAVLYUCHENKOVA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound BLACK RHINO underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned Mr. K Mackenroth stated that he is of the view that BLACK RHINO is not suited by drawing box 1 as in his view the greyhound wants to get out immediately after the start and after receiving some minor interference during the early part of the race he was somewhat overall disappointed with the greyhound’s overall performance.  Mr. Mackenroth was instructed to inform stewards of anything that may come to light with BLACK RHINO in the upcoming days.

 

The greyhound PAVLYUCHENKOVA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GNARLEY GIRL, FLASH GEE, KIKEM SPRINGER and OUT WEST were best to begin.  FIREFLY JAMES was slow to begin.  Leaving the back straight FIREFLY JAMES improved onto the hindquarters of FLASH GEE resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  KIKEM SPRINGER and OUT WEST which were racing to the outside of FIREFLY JAMES were checked as a consequence.

C2C CONSTRUCTIONS 5th GRADE FINAL 431M

Even start with the exception of BENMESSO which was marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn PUNCH RIGHT OUT and BARTHOLOMEW collided resulting in BARTHOLOMEW being checked, shifted out and bump AVAMAY which in turn shifted out and colliding with MAYWYN’S COPY, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight BARTHOLOMEW and AVAMAY collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  UNIQUE MOTIVE which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  MAYWYN’S COPY raced wide in the back straight.

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEONS 5th GRADE 520M

WALLOON SMARTIE, PUKUTU and FARMOR FOR SHORE were best to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight PUKUTU, SCAR’S BROTHER and SPECIAL VISION raced tight resulting in PUKUTU and SPECIAL VISION being severely checked and losing considerable ground.  SCAR’S BROTHER was checked and lost ground as a result of this incident.  FLSAH ROSE which was trialling was checked as a consequence.

THAIDAY NIGHT was best to begin.  Through the 1st turn SILKY OAK shifted in and tightened for racing room of NOT THE ONE, resulting in that greyhounds to be checked and lost ground.  SPLIT IT and TAYTO which were trailing were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  TAYTO and MAL ROSE HI commenced to give ground in the back straight to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.

 

The greyhound TAYTO underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. M Hay that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance and must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks prior to nominating.

 

The greyhound MAL ROSE HI underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 28 days.
