Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound
MINSTREL MAN performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of
431m in a time of 25.41 and is now cleared all tracks. |
Stewards Trial 2 – 431m
The greyhound PHONICS
performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of
25.78 and cleared all tracks except Ipswich until after 5 September 2016.
Stewards Trial 3 – 431m
The greyhound IMA
SUAREZ performed a weight trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.34
and weight of 33.2.

MAIDEN HEAT 1 431M FROSTY
AMY was best to begin. MADAM INDI
began awkwardly and lost ground.
Shortly after the start SEA OF JOY, STORM RAIDER, TOOTHLESS STEVE,
ROSDUE LOMBO, MOORE REVENGE and EUROA KATE all collided resulting in SEA OF
JOY being hampered and TOOTHLESS STEVE, ROSDUE LOMBO, MOORE REVENGE and EUROA
KATE all being checked. MADAM INDI
which was trailing was checked as a result.
Out of the turn into the front straight EUROA KATE and TOOTHLESS STEVE
collided. SEA OF JOY raced wide in the
back and front straights. ROSDUE LOMBO
and MADAM INDI raced wide in the front straight. The
greyhound MADAM INDI underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and was
found to have suffered an injury to the off hind calf muscle and was stood
down for a period of 10 days. When
questioned in regards to the performance of MADAM INDI, trainer Mr. P
Sullivan stated that he had expected a better performance in today’s
event. Mr. Sullivan added that the
greyhounds’ recent performances at the track had given him confidence for today’sevent
and that he was disappointed in the performance. He added further that he had supported the greyhound
in today’s event. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT
2 431M TURKEY RARE was slow to begin. NOVA PARTY was tightened for room at the
start and hampered. PIZARRO shifted in
and collided with MAGICAL MO which was checked. AINIA was best to begin. Through the turn into the back straight MY
MOJO and PIZARRO collided resulting in PIZARRO being checked. MY MOJO then shifted out and collided with
NOIRE CHERIE resulting in that runner being checked. Out of the back straight into the turn MAGICAL
MO and NOIRE CHERIE collided. PIZARRO
which was trailing improved onto the heels of MAGICAL MO and collided heavily
with that runner resulting in both runners falling and taking no further
competitive part in the event. TURKEY
RARE which was trailing was checked as a result. The greyhound MAGICAL MO underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound PIZARRO underwent a post-race veterinarian
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

ALPHA FINANCIAL SERVICES MAIDEN FINAL 431M INKJET was
best to begin. OUTBACK MYSTERY and
TAKEN NOVA collided at the start resulting in both runners being
hampered. SPIRITUAL MAN was slow to
begin. Shortly after the start
SPIRITUAL MAN and TAKEN NOVA collided resulting in both runners being checked. DROP SHORT and WHAT A MESS bumped shortly
after the start. On entering the 1st
turn INKJET turned its head outwards and marred the running of BOGIE COMET
and continued to shift out causing interference to DROP SHORT and ORPHAN
ANNIE. All 4 runners were subsequently
checked. WHAT A MESS which was trailing
shifted in to avoid those runners heels and collided with OUTBACK
MYSTERY. SPIRITUAL MAN which was trailing
was checked as a result. Out of the
turn into the back straight DROP SHORT and SPIRITUAL MAN collided resulting
in DROP SHORT falling and taking no further competitive part in the
event. Out of the back straight into
the turn SPIRITUAL MAN was tightened for room and checked. BOGIE COMET and INKJET which were trailing,
were both checked and forced out wider on the track as a result. In the back straight INKJET and BOGIE COMET
raced wide. The greyhound
DROP SHORT underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent
injuries were found. The greyhound
INKJET underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent
injuries were found. Stewards advised
trainer Ms. D Hannon that the greyhound INKJET, would be charged under Rule
69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’
trail 431m all tracks. |

NOVICE 431M VELOCITY EBONY was best to begin. Shortly after the start MIGHTY NOVA
collided with MISSED CONTROL resulting in both runners being checked. Through the turn into the back straight
VELOCITY EBONY shifted in tightening the running of ELLIE’S BOY which then
shifted out and collided with TOMMY BENZ forcing that runner out wider on the
track and being checked. MISSED
CONTROL improved onto the heels of BENTAXLE and was checked. Through the turn into the front straight
GEM EXPRESS improved onto the heels of TOMMY BENZ and bumped that runner
forcing that runner out wide on the track.
GEM EXPRESS was hampered as a result.
BENTAXLE which was trailing was checked and shifted out to avoid that
runner’s heels. TOMMY BENZ raced wide
in the back and front straights.
RHONDDA MINER raced wide in the front straight. Over the concluding stages of the event
TOMMY BENZ and BENTAXLE collided. |

TYRE SERVICES NOVICE 431M STILTON HAYLEY was best to begin. FONIC THUNDER and FABULOUS LENY were slow
to begin. Shortly after the start
NACEY’S HERO shifted out and collided with TIZZYWING resulting in both
runners being hampered. Through the turn into the back straight STILTON
HAYLEY shifted in tightening the running of ROSDUE SPRITE which was hampered
as a result. On entering the back straight FABULOUS LENY was tightened for
room, checked and forced out wider on the track. TIZZYWING which was trailing
was forced out wider on the track and checked. Through the turn into the
front straight FONIC THUNDER shifted out taking NACEY’S HERO out wider on the
track. |

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 4/5th GRADE 431M Even start.
Shortly after the start DOOHAN TIME, TWISTED and KNIGHTS TEMPLAR were
all tightened for room and hampered.
Through the turn into the back straight FLAPPING GUMS, HARA’S SUMMER
and SPLENDID STAR collided resulting in HARA’S SUMMER being severely checked,
FLAPPING GUMS being checked. DOOHAN
TIME, TWISTED and KNIGHTS TEMPLAR which were all trailing, were all hampered
as a result. On entering the back
straight TWO SIZE’S ALL was tightened for room and hampered. Out of the back straight into the turn
FLAPPING GUMS shifted in tightening the running of TWO SIZE’S ALL and DOOHAN
TIME resulting in both runners being checked.
TWISTED which was trailing, was checked as a result. FLAPPING GUMS raced wide in the back
straight. |

5th GRADE 520M I’M OUTTA HERE, FROSTY BROWN and TIBETAN DREAM were all
slow to begin. Shortly after the start
STUBBORN MISS and GLENALLON ZULU bumped resulting in both runners being
hampered. On entering the 1st
turn STUBBORN MISS, GLENALLON ZULU and FROSTY BROWN all collided resulting in
GLENALLON ZULU falling and taking no further competitive part in the event,
and STUBBORN MISS almost falling and losing considerable ground. FROSTY BROWN was forced out wider on the
track and lost ground. On entering the
front straight TIBETAN DREAM and AY YA collided. The greyhound GLENALLON ZULU underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

WALSH & CO 4/5th GRADE FINAL 520M ARABELLA was best to begin. AND WE DANCED shifted out and bumped
BIRKDALE BANDIT at the start and lost ground.
Approaching the 1st turn SNOW RUNNER was tightened for room
and checked. Through the turn into the
back straight AND WE DANCED was tightened for room and hampered. The greyhound AND WE DANCED underwent
a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 5th
GRADE 431M Even start.
Shortly after the start SPRING IT ON and GUN DANCER collided,
resulting in both runners being hampered.
Through the turn into the back straight ROSDUE GOANNA was tightened
for room, checked and forced out wider on the track. WHO DAT GUN and MILKY CHANCE bumped. On entering the back straight SPRING IT ON
was tightened for room and hampered.
Out of the back straight into the turn SNEAKIN’ OUT shifted in
tightening the running of GUN DANCER which collided with the running rail and
was subsequently checked. MILKY CHANCE
which was trailing improved onto that runner’s heels and collided resulting
in GUN DANCER falling and taking no further competitive part in the event and
MILKY CHANCE being severely checked. The greyhound GUN DANCER underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

5th GRADE 431M Even start. Shortly after the start DASHING CHARGER and
LIL’ BIT SPARKY collided. Through the turn into the back straight MR. DEXTER
was tightened for room, checked and shifted out forcing COSMIC REVENGE
outwards which then collided with DASHING CHARGER, which then in turn shifted
out and collided with LIL’ BIT SPARKY, resulting in all four runners being
checked. MR. DEXTER improved onto the heels of CIGARS ON ICE through the turn
into the front straight and lost ground.
Shortly after COSMIC REVENGE improved onto the heels of MR. DEXTER and
checked out across that runner’s heels forcing LIL’ BIT SPARKY out wider on
the track. DASHING CHARGER which was trailing
was hampered as a result. On entering the front straight DASHING CHARGER and
LIL’ BIT SPARKY collided. COSMIC REVENGE and LIL’ BIT SPARKY raced wide in
the back straight. |
