MAIDEN 520M Due to the Gardens being abandoned Race time changes
occurred for Race 2 to 8. Race 2 to
5.47pm, Race 3 to 6.09pm, Race 4 to 6.32pm, Race 5 to 6.50pm, Race 6 to
7.07pm, Race 7 to 7.25pm and Race 8 to 7.42pm. GALWAY
BLUEBIRD and SANRICO ROSIE were slow to begin. Shortly after the start GALWAY ROSELLA and
FROSTY ZERO collided. Shortly after
FROSTY ZERO shifted in resulting in GALWAY BLUEBIRD being checked. Through the turn into the front straight
FROSTY ZERO was tightened for room and checked. Over the concluding stages of the event
LANCASTER BOMBER failed to pursue the lure with due course. Stewards
advised trainer Mr. M Jolliffe that the greyhound would be charged under Rule
69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory
stewards’ trial 520m all tracks. |

SKY RACING NOVICE 520M SHARP SONGAR was slow to begin. Shortly after the start TECHNO LADY was
tightened for room and checked.
Approaching the 1st turn FROSTY BROWN improved onto the
heels of GALWAY ACHIEVER and collided with that runner resulting in both
greyhounds being checked. Out of the
back straight into the turn RIGHT AS RAIN improved onto the heels of GUN
POWER and collided with that runner resulting in both greyhounds being
hampered. GUN POWER and CHIPS AHOY
collided on several occasions over the concluding stages of the event. FROSTY BROWN raced wide in the back
straight. TECHNO LADY raced wide in
the back and front straights. The greyhound GALWAY ACHIEVER underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off
side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

SCOTT O’TOOLE PAINTER NOVICE 520M ELEGANT
STRIDER was best to begin. Shortly
after the start FROSTY AJAY shifted in and collided with GALLON which in turn
was taken in and collided with SPRING DEAL, which in turn was taken in and
collided with BET YOU WILL resulting in all 4 runners being hampered. Shortly after FROSTY AJAY was tightened for
room and checked. On entering the 1st
turn MIDNIGHT DASHER and GALLON collided resulting in GALLON being hampered
and MIDNIGHT DASHER being forced out wider on the track. On entering the front straight BET YOU WILL
checked out across the heels of ELEGANT STRIDER taking MIDNIGHT DASHER and
GALLON out wider on the track. |

O’REILLY PET FOODS 5th GRADE 520M Even start. At the
start CALL ME AUSSIE and DON’T WEAKEN collided. Shortly after the start SCAR’S BROTHER,
TOVENAAR and DOUBLE STORM all bumped on a number of occasions. Approaching the 1st turn all
runners with the exception of CALL ME AUSSIE, raced tight and were all
checked to varying degrees. As a result,
TOVENAAR and FLASH VENTURE fell and took no further competitive part in the
event. The greyhound TOVENAAR underwent a post-race veterinarian
examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound FLASH VENTURE underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off
fore toe and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks. |

CONTRUCTIONS 4/5th GRADE 520M MURBAH GOLD and FASHION ADVICE were best to begin. MAYWYN IF LUCKY was slow to begin. Shortly after the start SOOT SPRITE was
tightened for room, checked and shifted out colliding with MAYWYN PETTYCASH
which was checked as a result. SOOT
SPRITE, GEORGE GALLON, MAYWYN IF LUCKY and MAYWYN PETTYCASH all raced wide in
the back straight. SOOT SPRITE, GEORGE GALLON and MAYWYN IF LUCKY all raced
wide in the front straight. |

IPSWICH DERBY FINAL 520M The start of race six was delayed due to an interstate
harness event. TRIPUM was best to begin.
Shortly after the start ZABDON LAMBO, SINGLETON and BUBBLE GUPPY all
collided resulting in SINGLETON being checked. Shortly after ZABDON LAMBO was tightened
for room and hampered. On entering the
1st turn DODGY DANCER checked out across the heels of INNER WISDOM
and raced wide. Out of the back
straight into the turn BOOM WARRIOR collided with the running rail and was
checked. DODGY DANCER raced wide in
the back and front straights. The greyhound BOOM WARRIOR underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

IPSWICH FUTURITY FINAL 520M KNEW YOU WOULD was best to begin. Shortly after the start LUCKY SALLY was
tightened for room and checked.
Approaching the 1st turn HERE FOR YOU was tightened for
room and hampered. On entering the 1st
turn ISLA’S STYLE and JOSIE RUMBLE collided resulting in ISLA’S STYLE shifted
out and colliding with SMACK DAB forcing that runner out wider on the
track. LUCKY SALLY and HERE FOR YOU
which were both trailing were forced out wider on the track and lost ground. Through the turn into the back straight
SMACK DAB and ISLA’S STYLE collided resulting in ISLA’S STYLE being
checked. ISLA’S STYLE, HERE FOR YOU
and SMACK DAB all raced wide in the back and front straights. |

PAST MEMBERS TROPHY FINAL 630M MULLAWAY was best to begin. Shortly after the start GOT A BROTHER was
tightened for room and lost ground.
Out of the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion
GOLD DIVA shifted out and collided with DUSTY WAY resulting in both runners
being checked. Out of the back
straight into the turn GOLD DIVA was tightened for room and checked. The greyhound GOT A BROTHER underwent
a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were
found. Trainer Mr. P Ruetschi was
questioned in regards to the performance of this greyhound and stated that he
was disappointed with the greyhound’s performance in tonight’s event, however
it would benefit from tonight’s run in future performances. He further added that GOT A BROTHER
requires and inside box draw to race more competitively and that the
greyhound’s preferred distance is the 700m.
Mr. Ruetschi stated that he would monitor the greyhound’s recovery
over the coming days and report any abnormalities to stewards. |

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 4/th GRADE 431M LEHMAN BENZ and ALEEAH JET were slow to begin. On entering the 1st turn MIGHTY
NIMROD was tightened for room and checked.
Through the turn into the back straight LEHMAN BENZ improved onto the
heels and collided with FLAPPING GUMS resulting in both runners being
checked. LEHMAN BENZ then shifted out
and collided with ALLEAH JET forcing that runner out wider on the track and
to be checked. Out of the back
straight into the turn MARG’S MEMORY and MIGHTY NIMROD collided resulting in
both runners being checked. FLAPPING
GUMS which was trailing was hampered and shifted out wider on the track to
avoid that runner’s heels taking LEHMAN BENZ out wider on the track as a
result. Out of the turn into the front
straight FLAPPING GUMS and ALEEAH JET collided. CHEEKY CHEECH raced wide in the back and
front straights. LEHMAN BENZ raced
wide in the front straight. The greyhound MIGHTY NIMROD underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

resulting in both runners being checked.
SPRING SHANGHAI which was trailing was checked as a result. The greyhound DASHING CHARGER underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |
