Stewards Trial 1 – 431m

The greyhound JUST GITCHA performed a satisfactory weight trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.90 at a weight of 30.5.

Even start with the exception of DROP SHORT which was slow to begin and BY CRIKERY which stumbled leaving the boxes.  Rounding the 1st turn DASHING BOND contacted the heels of SPECIAL SHOW resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  BY CRIKEY which was trailing was hampered and shifted wide on the track as a result.  Rounding the turn into the front straight DROP SHORT shifted outwards across the heels of SPECIAL SHOW and was checked.  Over the concluding stages of the event DROP SHORT shifted inwards across the heels of SPECIAL SHOW and was hampered.

 

The greyhound BY CRIKEY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 431M

RUN RIVA RUN, NOIRE CHERIE and DU HAST were best to begin.  On entering the 1st turn NOIRE CHERIE was tightened for racing room, checked and shifted outwards.  SPRING NAKANO and ROSDUE AVALON which were racing to its outside were hampered as a result.  TITLE which was trailing was hampered as a result.  Leaving the turn into the back straight TITLE contacted the heels of ROSDUE AVALON resulting in TITLE to be hampered and ROSDUE AVALON to be checked.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight TITLE was tightened for racing room and hampered.

ALPHA FINANCIAL SERVICES MAIDEN FINAL 431M

SAMANTHA BENZ was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BOGIE COMET, MOORE REVENGE and KERRYZA GUNN were all tightened for racing room and checked.  On entering the 1st turn BOGIE COMET shifted outwards across the heels of EUROA KATE colliding with MOORE REVENGE resulting in all greyhounds being checked.  Leaving the turn into the back straight EUROA KATE and SAMANATHA BENZ collided resulting in EUROA KATE to be checked. In the back straight STORM RAIDER turned its head to the outside and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment. Leaving the back straight into the turn MOORE REVENGE was tightened for racing room and checked.  In the front straight MOORE REVENGE and YOU JANE were wide.

 

The greyhound STORM RAIDER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. C Wills that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

ROSDUE SPRITE and SHEZA RULER were best to begin.  SPRING AUDREY was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start ZILLIE BEAN and ELLIE’S LAST collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  On entering the 1st turn ELLIE’S BOY, AINIA, ZILLIE BEAN and REAL CALL were all tightened for racing room and checked.  ELLIE’S LAST and SPRING AUDREY which were trailing were hampered as a result.  Leaving the back straight into the turn AINIA was tightened for racing room and checked.  Shortly after REAL CALL and SPRING AUDREY collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SHEZA RULER contacted the heels of ROSDUE SPRITE resulting in both greyhounds being hampered. In the back straight ELLIE’S LAST and REAL CALL were wide.  In the front straight ELLIE’S BOY was wide.

GATTON TYRE SERVICE 5th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start WILLY DO, PREMIER BEAR and WINDY GIRL all raced tight and were checked.  On entering the 1st turn MR. DEXTER, SINGLETON, SPILLING SECRETS, WILLY DO and WINDY GIRL all raced tight resulting in SINGLETON being hampered and MR. DEXTER, SPILLING SECRETS and WINDY GIRL being checked and WILLY DO being severely checked.  Leaving the turn into the back straight PREMIER BEAR improved onto the heels of SPILLING SECRETS resulting in PREMIER BEAR being checked and shifting wider on the track.  WILLY DO which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight SINGLETON was tightened for racing room and checked.  In the back straight WILLY DO was wide.

 

After a review of the start of this race VELOCITY EBONY trained by Mr. N Eastell after its difficult nature being placed into the starting boxes will begin all future events as a ‘hard to box’ greyhound as authorised by stewards’.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE 520M

RAGNAR LOTHBROK, MOTORIN’ CIDER and CAPTAIN TIL were best to begin.  On entering the 1st turn CAPTAIN TIL was tightened for racing room and checked.  ASTIN’S WARRIOR and CHEEKY CHEECH which were trailing were hampered as a consequence.  ASTIN’S WARRIOR and CHEEKY CHEECH both raced wide around the 1st turn as a result of this interference.  In the back straight CAPTAIN TIL shifted inwards across the heels of RAGNAR LOTHBROK and was hampered.  Leaving the back straight into the turn ASTIN’S WARRIOR was tightened for racing room and checked.  In the back straight MOTORIN’ CIDER was wide.  In the front straight CHEEKY CHEECH was wide.

NOT TODAY MATE, SHAYLOR SAM, THIS TIME MADDIE, WHO DAT GUN and TORPEDO MAN were best to begin.  WHITE MARLIN, DUSKY SILK and TIBETAN DREAM were slow to begin.  Leaving the back straight into the turn NOT TODAY MATE and SHAYLOR SAM collided resulting in SHAYLOR SAM being checked.  WHITE MARLIN and WHO DAT GUN which were trailing were hampered as a result.  Shortly after TIBETAN DREAM improved onto the heels of WHO DAT GUN with both greyhounds being hampered.  In the back straight WHITE MARLIN was wide.

Even start.  Shortly after the start DODGY DANCER, BLACKWOOD BURST and SPIKE BENZ were all tightened for racing room and checked.  Rounding the 1st turn into the back straight SPIKE BENZ shifted outwards across the heels of KLOEIS PRIDE and was hampered.  Leaving the turn into the back straight DODGY DANCER was tightened for racing room and checked.  SPIKE BENZ which was trailing was hampered as a result.  In the back and front straights DODGY DANCER was wide.

 

The greyhound SPIKE BENZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start with the exception of GAGAN NANCY which was marginally slow to begin.  On entering the 1st turn STEP BACK LASS, CIGARS ON ICE, HEZA SIZE UP and SNEAKIN’ OUT all raced tight and were checked.  GAGAN NANCY which was trailing was hampered and shifted wider on the turn as a consequence.  Leaving the back straight into the turn SPRING BIG IRON and MAX WEDGE were tightened for racing room and checked.  Shortly after GAGAN NANCY contacted the hindquarters of SNEAKIN’ OUT resulting in both greyhounds to be momentarily hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SPRING BIG IRON and MAX WEDGE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked.

COOL VANE was best to begin.  ROSDUE GOANNA was slow to begin.  On entering the 1st turn WILDASH GEE and SPRING DORRIE were tightened for racing room and checked.  Leaving the turn into the back straight WILDASH GEE was tightened for racing room and checked.  Entering the turn out of the back straight BENTAXLE contacted the heels of RHONDDA MINER and was hampered.  In the back straight ROSDUE GOANNA was wide.  In the front straight WILDASH GEE and ROSDUE GOANNA were wide.
