TRIALS |
Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound BLUE ME performed a
satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 26.02 and
is now cleared all tracks. Stewards Trial 2 – 520m The greyhound SPRING OUT performed a
satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.62 and
is now cleared all tracks. |

MAIDEN HEAT 1 520M FROSTY
ZERO and VELOCITY ALLY were best to begin.
WITHOUT FAIL and DIAMOND ROBYNE were slow to begin. Shortly after the start DROP SHORT and
MINNIE MARTINI collided, resulting in DROP SHORT being checked, shifting in
making contact with STAR BEACH resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and
lose ground. Leaving the front
straight DROP SHORT was tightened for racing room, severely checked and fell
taking no further competitive part in the race. STAR BEACH, MINNIE MARTINI and BIG DIPPA
were checked as a result of this incident.
DIAMOND ROBYNE was severely checked and lost considerable ground. Shortly after MINNIE MARTINI and BIG DIPPA
collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked and lose ground. DIAMOND ROBYNE raced wide rounding the turn
into the front straight. The
greyhound DROP SHORT underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 520M Even start with the exception of PORT LISA, FROSTY GAIL
and SATAN’S GIFT which were all slow to begin. Shortly after the start VALERIE MERLE was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Shortly after DIAMOND FLUSH was tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
Rounding the turn into the back straight DIAMOND FLUSH and NOIRE
CHERIE collided resulting in NOIRE CHERIE shifting out and making contact
with RENALD’S RIVALRY. Both NOIRE
CHERIE and RENALD’S RIVALRY were checked and lost ground as a result of this
incident. Approaching the turn out of
the back straight VALERIE MERLE was tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. |

SCOTT O’TOOLE PAINTER NOVICE 520M STRONG STEP,
QUICKLEE BAZZ and SHEZA RULER were best to begin. Leaving the front straight GALWAY EAGLE was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight
GALWAY EAGLE shifted in and made contact with the running rail, shortly after
out and collided with CARLTON CREW resulting in both greyhounds to be checked
and lose ground. Leaving the back
straight CARLTON CREW was tightened for racing room and momentarily hampered. The greyhound
GALWAY EAGLE underwent a post race veterinarian
examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip and
was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

BENTAXLE which were marginally slow to begin.
Leaving the front straight GALLON improved onto the heels of CYNO
STEIN and was momentarily hampered.
Leaving the back straight CYNO STEIN was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. |

PET FOODS 3/4th GRADE 520M Even start with the exception of BOOM WARRIOR which was
marginally slow to begin. Shortly
after the start THURSDAY WIZARD was tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. SHIFT SEINE commenced to
give ground leaving the front straight and finished a considerable distance
from the remainder of the field.
Leaving the back straight BOOM WARRIOR was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. The greyhound SHIFT SEINE underwent a post
race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury
to the near hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks. |

5th GRADE 520M BEACH FRONT was best to begin. Leaving the front straight CYNO GENERAL was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. The greyhound HEIR OF KING underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent
injuries were found. |

C2C CONSTRUCTIOONS 5th GRADE 520M ARE YOU THERE was best to begin. Shortly after the start KIKEM SPRINGER was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Leaving the front straight GIFTED ANGEL and
TECHNO LADY bumped resulting in both greyhounds being hampered. LUNA PARK which was trailing was hampered
as a consequence. LUNA PARK commenced to give ground badly in the latter
stages of the race. The greyhound LUNA PARK underwent a post
race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury
to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 21 days. |

the early stages of the race. Leaving
the front straight PETITE ZIP ZIP was tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground. Trainer Mr. D Gladman
reported that the rug on PETITE ZIP ZIP had become
displaced after the greyhound had been placed in the boxes which may have her
at some disadvantage. Stewards reminded Mr. Gladman
of his obligations in respect to placing rugs on greyhounds in the correct
manner. |

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 4/5th GRADE 431M Even start with the exception of FABULOUS STORM and JIMMY
BRUTE which were slow to begin.
Through the 1st turn SPRING AGUSTUS was tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground.
MASTER CORSAIR and JIMMY BRUTE which were trailing were checked as a
consequence. Entering the back
straight FABULOUS STORM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. MASTER CORSAIR which was
trailing was hampered as a consequence. |

Shortly after the start LADY CORSAIR was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Shortly after
FARMOR MAYHEM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. RHONDDA MINER and PEBBLE BAY were both
checked as a result of this incident.
Approaching the turn into the back straight DIRECT TERROR and KLOEIS
PRIDE collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked and lose ground. Leaving the back straight DIRECT TERROR was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight
DIRECT TERROR and LADY CORSAIR collided.
Entering the back straight RHONDDA MINER and FARMOR MAYHEM collided
resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. |
