Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound
AUGUST FLAME performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m
in a time of 25.17. The greyhound
underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were
found. Stewards Trial 2 – 431m The greyhound
HARRY’S PLACE performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of
461m in a time of 25.97. |

MAIDEN HEAT 1 431M SPRING
LAUREN and BOGIE COMET were best to begin.
DROP SHORT was slow to begin.
Shortly after the start INITIATOR and DROP SHORT bumped resulting in
both runners being checked. Through
the turn into the back straight SPRING LAUREN was tightened for room and
checked. AL BUZZARD which was trailing
collided heavily with that runner and was checked. SPRING LAUREN fell as a result. LONG JOHN SILVER was checked. Shortly after
INITIATOR collided heavily with SPRING LAUREN and was checked. DROP SHORT and LONG JOHN SILVER collided in
the back straight. Out of the back
straight into the turn INITIATOR suffered an injury and tailed the
field. In the front straight INITIATOR
pulled up and took no further part in the event. Through the turn into the front straight
BOGIE COMET shifted out and collided with BINALONG ROAD. Over the concluding stages of the event
BOGIE COMET and BINALONG ROAD bumped on a number of occasions. The
greyhound SPRING LAUREN underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no
apparent injuries were found. The
greyhound INITIATOR underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and was
found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a
period of 28 days. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT
2 431M SPRING DOLLY was best to begin. Shortly after the start SPRING ERNIE and
SAMANTHA BENZ were tightened for room and checked. Through the turn into the back straight
CAKE OF SOAP was tightened for room and checked. SAMANTHA BENZ which was trailing, shifted
out to avoid that runner’s heels and in doing so collided with TITLE. EUROA AZAZ and YOU JANE collided resulting
in both runners being checked. CAKE OF
SOAP which was trailing was checked as a result. Out of the back straight into the turn
SPRING ERNIE was tightened for room and checked. Out of the turn into the front straight
SIZE WISE and SPRING DOLLY collided resulting in both runners being
hampered. Over the concluding stages
of the event SPRING DOLLY was tightened for room and hampered. CAKE OF SOAP raced wide in the back
straight. YOU JANE raced wide in the
front straight. |

ALPHA FINANCIAL SERVICES MAIDEN FINAL 431M SPRING
DESTINY was best to begin. SPRING
ROCCA, FROSTY FOX and BIG DIPPA were all slow to begin. Shortly after the start NIKITA’S GLAMOUR and
LEIGTH ROSE HI collided resulting in both greyhounds being hampered. Through the turn into the back straight SPRING
ROCCA, FROSTY FOX and BIG DIPPA all collided resulting in all 3 runners being
checked. BRONCO BOY and LEIGHT ROSE HI
collided resulting in LEIGHT ROSE HI falling and taking no further
competitive part in the event. Out of
the back straight into the turn GET SHORTY and BRONCO BOY collided resulting
in BRONCO BOY being checked. BIG DIPPA
raced wide in the back straight. FROSTY FOX raced wide in the front straight. The greyhound
LEIGTH ROSE HI underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent
injuries were found. |

resulting in DISTANT SHORES being hampered. On entering the first turn TOUCH OF CAJUN, NEGDO
HEATHER and BATTLE READY all collided resulting in all 3 runners being
checked. On entering the back straight
NEDGO HEATHER was tightened for room and checked. Out of the back straight into the turn TOUCH
OF CAJUN was tightened for room and hampered. In the front straight TOMMY BENZ turned its
head outwards and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment. DISTANT SHORES raced wide in the back and
front straights. Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Rolls that the greyhound
TOMMY BENZ would be charged under Rule 69 (B) Failing to Pursue, 1st
offence with injury and underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and
was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down
for a period of 10 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks. |

GATTON
TYRE SERVICE NOVICE 431M MISSED CONTROL was best to begin. SHINTARO STAR, FIRED UP
AGAIN, and BATTLE READY were all slow to begin. Through the turn into the back straight 6
was tightened for room and hampered. BATTLE READY which was trailing was checked
as a result. On entering the back
straight LOTS OF TIME and FIRED UP AGAIN collided resulting in FIRED UP AGAIN
being hampered. 6 which was trailing clipped FIRED UP AGAIN’s heels and
almost fell losing considerable ground. Through the turn into the front straight TOMMY
BENZ checked out across the heels of DISTANT SHORES. |

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 4/5th GRADE 431M ONYA BENZ and ZABDON CHEVY were best to begin. Shortly after the start all runners except ONYA
BENZ and ZABDON CHEVY were tightened for room and checked. Through the turn into the back straight CARLTON
CREW was tightened for room and checked. GIDDY UP PATSY raced wide in the front
straight. |

5th GRADE 520M THURSDAY WIZARD was best to begin. Approaching the first turn BEACH FRONT was
tightened for room and checked. BEC’S
DIAMOND and SEE THAT which were trailing were checked and shifted out wider
on the track as a result. Shortly
after THURSDAY WIZARD and NATURAL LAD collided. Through the turn into the front straight SOUTHERN
FLOSS clipped the heels of THURSDAY WIZARD and shifted out wider on the
track. As a result THURSDAY WIZARD
suffered an injury and took no further competitive part in the event. The greyhound THURSDAY WIZARD underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off
side hock and was humanely euthanised. |

WALSH & CO 5th GRADE FINAL 520M SWITCH BLADE and THURSDAY WISH were
best to begin. GUY FAWKES began
awkwardly, shifted out and collided with PATRONUS resulting in both runners
being checked. Approaching the first
turn SEE THAT, THURSDAY WISH, ASTIN’S WARRIOR, MIDNIGHT DASHER and WATTA STEP
UP all collided resulting in THURSDAY WISH being checked, ASTIN’S WARRIOR and
WATTA STEP UP almost falling losing considerable ground. Shortly after GUY FAWKES and THURSDAY WISH
collided. Through the turn into the
back straight PATRONUS and SEE THAT collided resulting in SEE THAT shifting
out and colliding with MIDNIGHT DASHER. All runners were checked as a result. ASTIN’S WARRIOR raced wide in the back
straight. The greyhound WATTA STEP UP underwent
a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound ASTIN’S WARRIOR
underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were
found. |

GRADE 431M The greyhound TINY TURBO underwent a pre-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. SPRING SHANGHAI was best to begin. Shortly after the start MIRANDA ROSE HI was
tightened for room and hampered. Through
the turn into the back straight SPRING CRUSHER, PASSIVE PROTEST and RAGNAR
LOTHBROK were all tightened for room and checked. RAGNAR LOTHBROK then shifted out and
collided with MIRANDA ROSE HI which then shifted out and collided with TINY
TURBO resulting in both runners being checked and forced out wider on the
track. Out of the back straight into
the turn MIRANDA ROSE HI was tightened for room and checked. PASSIVE PROTEST which was trailing was
hampered as a result. Through the turn
into the front straight RAGNAR LOTHBROK checked out across the heels of PASSIVE
PROTEST. |

FRANCE and HURRICANE CHANCE all collided, resulting in all 3 runners being
checked. FABULOUS LENY which was trailing collided heavily with HURRICANE
CHANCE resulting in both runners being checked. FABULOUS LENY raced wide in the back
straight. The greyhound HURRICANE CHANCE underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |
