Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound SMART SHIRL performed a
satisfactory Return to Racing trial over the distance of 431m in a time of
26.70. The greyhound SIMMSY’S NINERON performed a
satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.66 and
is now cleared all tracks. |

MAIDEN 431M ITSA PATCHY
was marginally slow to begin. At the
start DUDE PERFECT was tightened for room and checked. Shortly after the start all greyhounds with
the exception of ITS PATCHY and DUDE PERFECT were tightened for room and
checked to varying degrees as a result.
Entering the first turn WHITE EAGLE and TRIPLE TWIST collided
resulting in both runners to be checked.
ITSA PATCHY which was trailing was checked as a consequence. In the back straight WHITE EAGLE and TRIPLE
TWIST collided resulting in both runners to be checked. ITSA PATCHY which was trailing was hampered
as a result. In the back and front
straights SPRING NAKANO, DUDE PERFECT and ROSEDUE BLUE GUM were wide. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN 431M CASEY MINI ME was best to begin. FABULOUS SHOW was very slow to begin. At the start SUPER SCOOTER was tightened
for room and checked. Through the
first turn round into the back straight DJANGO and SPRING POLLY collided on a
number of occasions resulting in DJANGO to be severely checked as a
result. SUPER SCOOTER which was
trailing was hampered as a result. DJANGO
and SUPER SCOOTER were wide in the back straight. Through the turn into the front straight
SPRING POLLY was tightened for room and hampered. Rounding the turn into the front straight
SPRING POLLY and GRAND RULER collided resulting in both runners to be
checked. In the front straight DJANGO
and SUPER SCOOTER were wide. The greyhound DJANGO underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side wrist
and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

GREYHOUND-DATA.COM NOVICE 431M Even
start. At the start ABBY NORMAL
collided with KAPPA NU resulting in both runners to be checked. SPRING DOTTIE which was racing to their
outside was checked as a consequence.
Through the first turn KAPPA NU, SMASHNIAK STORM, LOVED UP and ABBY NORMAL
were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees as a result. Rounding the turn into the front straight
SPRING DOTTIE checked inwards across the heels of TROUBLING TIMES. KAPPA NU was wide in the front straight. |

dislodged. Shortly after the start
REAL CALL, BRONCO BOY, TOO MANY BILLS and NAVAJO WARRIOR were tightened for room
and checked. Through the first turn
FIRED UP AGAIN, REAL CALL and BRONCO BOY were tightened for room and checked
to varying degrees as a consequence.
SPRING ROCCA which was racing to their outside was checked as a result
of this incident. Entering the turn
out of the back straight SPRING ROCCA shifted inwards and collided with REAL
CALL resulting in SPRING ROCCA to be checked and race wide entering the turn
as a result. NAVAJO WARRIOR and SPRING
ROCCA were wide in the back straight.
Rounding the turn into the front straight FIRED UP AGAIN improved onto
the heels of NAVAJO WARRIOR resulting in both runners to be hampered. Stewards questioned licenced trainer Mr. P Shaxson over
the racing muzzle being displaced from SPRING ROCCA at the start of the
event. Mr. Shaxson stated that the
greyhound was boxed with the muzzle appropriately attached and that it may
have been dislodged just moments prior to the lids opening while inside the
starting boxes. He further stated that the dislodgement of the muzzle may
have had an effect on its performance today and that he did support the
greyhound today. The greyhound FIRED UP AGAIN underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

CLINT’S
CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE HEAT 1 431M GET SHORTY and TRISHA NOLAN were best to begin. COSMIC CAPERS, SPRING DORRIE and HAPPY GLEN
were slow to begin. Shortly after the
start COSMIC CAPERS and SPRING DORRIE were tightened for room and
checked. Entering the first turn REIYN
CHAAI, ROCK BOTTOM and ORANGE THUNDER were tightened for room and
checked. HAPPY GLEN which was racing
to their outside was hampered as a result.
COSMIC CAPERS and SPRING DORRIE which were trailing were hampered as a
result. Rounding the turn into the
back straight COSMIC CAPERS checked out across the heels of SPRING DORRIE and
lost considerable ground. Entering the
turn out of the back straight REIYN CHAAI was tightened for room and
checked. Through the turn into the
front straight REIYN CHAAI was tightened for room and checked. Rounding the turn into the front straight
ROCK BOTTOM collided with HAPPY GLEN resulting in that runner to be severely
checked and stumble. The greyhound HAPPY GLEN underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE HEAT 2
431M Even start.
Entering the first turn EUROA AZAZ, HAVE SOME, HO CHOI, SPRING TRIXIE
and JIGGLE SPLAT were all tightened for room.
EUROA AZAZ was hampered, SPRING TRIXIE and JIGGLE SPLAT were checked and
forced wider around the turn, HO CHOI was severely checked and HAVE SOME was
severely checked, fell and took no further competitive part as a result. SPRING TRIXIE raced wide around the turn
and through the front straight. The greyhound HAVE SOME underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

GUNN and COOPOLLY BEACH were slow to begin.
Rounding the turn into the back straight SPRING RECALL was tightened
for room and checked. Entering the
back straight SPRING RECALL contacted the hindquarters of YOU JANE resulting
in both runners to be checked.
Entering the turn out of the back straight COOPOLLY BEACH was
tightened for room and momentarily hampered. |

GJ WALSH & CO 4/5th
GRADE 520M BOGIE MIRACLE, MIGHTY NOVA and SWEET
AS BETH were best to begin. MINNIE
MARTINI was slow to begin. Shortly
after the start MINNIE MARTINI contacted the hindquarters of DEEP DESPAIR
resulting in both runners to be checked.
In the front straight BOGIE MIRACLE and MIGHTY NOVA were tightened for
room and hampered. Approaching the
first turn DEEP DESPAIR shifted inwards and collided with ROSDUE GOANNA
resulting in that runner to be hampered.
Shortly after CUT THE CAKE shifted inwards, made contact with the
running rail and was checked as a result.
ROSDUE GOANNA which was racing to its outside was checked as a
result. Through the first turn MIGHTY
NOVA checked outwards across the heels of BOGIE MIRACLE. Entering the back straight MINNIE MARTINI
was tightened for room and checked.
Entering the turn out of the back straight MIGHTY NOVA contacted the
hindquarters of BOGIE MIRACLE resulting in both runners to be checked. GOOD BOY SEAMUS was wide in the back
straight. ROSDUE GOANNA and GOOD BOY SEAMUS
were wide in the front straight. The greyhound CUT THE CAKE underwent a
post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 5th GRADE HEAT 3 431M TOLL EVASION was best to begin. TELEX FINGERS and KYOTO KAHN were
marginally slow to begin. At the start
SPECTRAILLE and DECLAN’S BOY were tightened for room and checked. Shortly after TELEX FINGERS was tightened
for room, made contact with the running rail and was checked. Entering the first turn CHEEKY CHEECH
shifted outwards and collided with LOOK THE PART resulting in both runners to
be checked. Shortly after SPECTRAILLE
was tightened for room, checked and shifted outwards. LOOK THE PART and DECLAN’S BOY which were
racing to its outside were checked as a consequence. KYOTO KAHN which was trailing was checked
as a result. Entering the back
straight TELEX FINGERS and SPECTRAILLE were tightened for room and checked to
varying degrees as a result.
SPECTRAILLE was wide in the back straight. The greyhound TELEX FINGERS underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

MASTER 431M The start of the event was delayed due to the boxing
manners of SONIC REDUCER. LORIAN ADITI was best to begin. Entering the first turn SILKY OAK, SINUK
and LEAH BENZ were tightened for room and checked. SONIC REDUCER which was trailing was
checked as a consequence. In the back
straight MR. TRANSPORTER checked out across the heels of ELL’S ALL CLASS. Stewards questioned licensed trainer Mrs. D Wilson with
regards to the boxing manners of SONIC REDUCER. Mrs. Wilson stated that in the greyhound’s
future events her husband Mr. B Wilson would be boxing the greyhound. Stewards noted Mrs. Wilson’s comments
however, advised her that they would be monitoring the greyhound’s boxing
manners in its future events. The greyhound LEAH BENZ underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side hind
foot and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |
