TRIALS |
Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound WHO DAT GUN performed a
satisfactory weight trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.75 and a
weight of 26.9. |
GENERAL
Prior to Race 1 the greyhound GIFTED ANGEL
became loose from its handler. It was
examined by the club veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race.

AQUATICS SWIM CLUB MAIDEN 520M AZA
ZEUS, PHANTOM HENRY, AURIGA CINDY and ESSENTIALLY PURE were best to
begin. RUN CHUCK RUN and HARRY’S PLACE
were slow to begin. Leaving the front
straight RUN CHUCK RUN and PASS THE AMMO collided resulting in both greyhounds
to be checked and lose ground. Leaving
the back straight PASS THE AMMO was tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. Approaching the turn into
the front straight HARRY’S PLACE checked across the heels of AURIGA CINDY and
was momentarily hampered. |

CARRINGTON KENNELS MAIDEN 520M Even start.
Shortly after the start PHANTOM PETE slipped on the mat, collided with
SUPER SCOOTER resulting both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Leaving the front straight PHANTOM PETE
collided with GIFTED PINES resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and
lose ground. WAZZA QUEEN which was
racing to its outside of GIFTED PINES was checked as a result of this
incident. SUPER SCOOTER which was trailing
was checked as a consequence and raced wide.
Rounding the turn into the front straight AURIGA BINDI and NOIRE
CHERIE collided resulting in NOIRE CHERIE to be checked and lose ground. The greyhound GIFTED PINES underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

WESTERN AQUATICS SWIM CLUB NOVICE 520M VELOCITY ALLY
and OH GOLLY GOSH were best to begin.
Shortly after the start FAMOUS POLLY shifted out which hampered the
running of FIRED UP AGAIN resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose
ground. Rounding the turn into the
front straight DIAMOND FLUSH turned its head and made muzzle contact with OH
GOLLY GOSH resulting in both greyhounds to be momentarily hampered. DIAMOND FLUSH and OH GOLLY GOSH collided on
a number of occasions in the latter stages of the race. Stewards
advised trainer Mr. L Lewis that the greyhound DIAMOND FLUSH would be charged
under Rule 69 Marring, 2nd offence, 3 months plus a satisfactory
stewards’ trial 520m all tracks. |

LJS SERVICES PTY LTD MECHANICAL & EARTHMOVING NOVICE
520M FARMOR DIVA was best to begin. WILD MISS JUDY slipped on the mat shortly
after the start and lost ground.
Shortly after the start AVOID DAMAGE was tightened for racing room, checked
and lost ground. Shortly after THAT
HOUDINI shifted in and hampered the running of PRATER’S ACE. Approaching the turn out of the front
straight WILD MISS JUDY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Rounding the turn out of the
front straight LUPE FIASCO shifted out which hampered the running of AVOID
DAMAGE which was racing to its outside.
Rounding the turn into the back straight PRATER’S ACE and LUPE FIASCO
collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. The greyhound PRATER’S ACE underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

WESTERN
AQUATICS SWIM CLUB 4/5th GRADE 431M The track was downgraded to ‘slow’ and weather conditions
to ‘showery’. Even start with the exception of JUST SIZE which was
marginally slow to begin. Through the
first turn PATRONUS, SPLENDID STAR and COOL VANE were all checked as a result
of tight racing and lost ground.
Entering the back straight JUST SIZE was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. |

HEATH RAMSAY SWIM CENTRE 5th GRADE 520M THROTTLE ON, SINGLETON and SENTIMENTAL LADY were best to
begin. SIZEABLE was slow to
begin. Leaving the front straight
THROTTLE ON and SINGLETON were both tightened for racing room and collided as
a consequence and both greyhounds lost ground as a result of this
incident. Approaching the turn into
the back straight LOVED UP collided with PIZARRO resulting in PIZARRO
shifting out and colliding with WITHOUT FAIL.
All greyhounds were checked and lost ground as a result of this
incident. |

OAKWOOD FARMS 4/5th GRADE 520M Even start with the exception of MY SUPER which was
marginally slow to begin. Rounding the
turn out of the front straight SEIZED ASSET was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Leaving the
back straight DASH OF FAITH was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. POCAHONTAS and GLOBAL DEEJAY
were hampered as a result of this incident. The greyhound GLOBAL DEEJAY underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound POCAHONTAS underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off
side pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days. |

RQ YOUNG GUNS FINAL 520M Even start with the exception of
HESPERIDES and TURN AND BURN which were both slow to begin. Rounding the turn out of the front straight
INVERGARRY LADY and WINDY GIRL collided resulting in both greyhounds to be
checked and lose ground. Leaving the
back straight INVERGARRY LADY and TURN AND BURN bumped resulting in both
greyhounds to be momentarily hampered. |

WESTERN AQUATICS SWIM CLUB 5th GRADE 431M Even start with the exception of ARABIAN MELODY which was
slow to begin. Shortly after the start
MAGIC PASS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Through the first turn FARMOR FOR SHORE,
ARABELLA, NACEY’S HERO, SMACK DAB and MAGIC PASS were all tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground.
SMASH DAB was severely checked and fell as a consequence losing
considerable ground and taking no further competitive part in the race. Entering the back straight FARMOR FOR SHORE
and ARABELLA collided resulting in FARMOR FOR SHORE losing ground. The greyhound SMACK DAB underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound FARMOR FOR SHORE underwent a post-race
veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near
side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

IRELAND & CO 5th GRADE 431M The greyhound GIFTED ANGEL underwent a pre-race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. EUROA AZAZ and GIFTED ANGEL were best to begin. JOHNNY THE FOX was slow to begin. Shortly after the start ARE YOU THERE, WILD
FOX and LIL’ BIT SPARKY raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked
and lose ground. Through the first
turn ARE YOU THERE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Shortly after WILD FOX was tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground.
Entering the back straight JOHNNY THE FOX was tightened for racing
room, checked and lost ground. Leaving
the back straight SPLIT IT improved onto the hindquarters of LIL’ BIT SPARKY
resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Rounding the turn out of the back straight
SPLIT IT and WILD FOX collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and
lose ground. ARE YOU THERE raced wide
entering the front straight. |
