The greyhound SOUTH PARK STAN failed a Return to Racing trial over the distance of 431m.

 

RACE REPORTS

RIPPING ESCAPE was best to begin.  GALWAY KITE was very slow to begin.  At the start LADY SPUR and FROSTY FOX were tightened for room and hampered.  Shortly after the start TINY TAPPER, NEED SOME SPEED and GO FOR CHUCK were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  Entering the first turn LADY SPUR made contact with the running rail, was checked and shifted outwards.  FROSTY FOX which was racing to its outside was checked as a result.  GALWAY KITE which was trailing that runner was checked as a result.  Rounding the turn into the back straight TINY TAPPER was tightened for room and hampered.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight LADY SPUR was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Entering the turn out of the back straight FROSTY FOX and GO FOR CHUCK collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight FROSTY FOX checked off heels.

 

The greyhound LADY SPUR underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

ALADDIN’S ANGEL, WHITE EAGLE and CAPO were best to begin.  Rounding the turn into the back straight FROSTY BEJAY was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  In the back straight FROSTY BEJAY was wide.  In the front straight CAPO was wide.

KAPPA NU and AVOID DAMAGE were slow to begin.  Approaching the first turn GALWAY EAGLE was tightened for room and checked.  Shortly after FARMOR DIVA was tightened for room and severely checked.  KAPPA NU and AVOID DAMAGE which were trailing were checked as a result.  Rounding the turn into the back straight GALWAY EAGLE and TROUBLING TIMES bumped on a number of occasions and were hampered as a result.  Rounding the turn into the front straight GALWAY EAGLE and TROUBLING TIMES collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  In the back and front straight KAPPA NU was wide.

 

The greyhound MAKE TODAY COUNT underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start with the exception of COMPLETE CONTROL which was marginally slow to begin.  At the start RUN RIVA RUN was tightened for room and checked.  Through the first turn DUDE PERFECT and MAMA NATURE SAID were tightened for room and severely checked.  Rounding the turn into the back straight DUDE PERFECT and MAMA NATURE SAID bumped resulting in both runners to be hampered.  Through the top turn MAMA NATURE SAID checked off heels.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE HEAT 1 431M

CUT THE CAKE was best to begin and HOPEFUL BLUE was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start SPRING DORRIE was tightened for room and checked.  Entering the first turn HANNAH’S BELL was tightened for room and severely checked.  HOPEFUL BLUE which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  Shortly after LORD LACHLAN, SPANISH HARBOUR and ON THE WALL were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  HOPEFUL BLUE which was trailing those runners was hampered as a result.  In the back straight HOPEFUL BLUE was wide.

 

The greyhound HOPEFUL BLUE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE HEAT 2 431M

Even start with the exception of MAYWYN IF LUCKY which was slow to begin.  Through the first turn ARE YOU THERE, HARA’S JESSICA, HARA’S SAM, COSMIC LAPTOP and SINGLETON were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  In the back straight ARE YOU THERE was wide.  In the front straight ARE YOU THERE and HARA’S SAM were wide.

 

The greyhound ON THE WALL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

TIP TIP HOORAY was marginally slow to begin.  Entering the first turn SNOW RUNNER was tightened for room and checked.  Through the first turn FLYING PRINCESS was tightened for room and hampered.  Rounding the turn into the back straight WILD WEST WILLY was tightened for room and hampered.  Entering the turn out of the back straight FARMOR FOR SHORE was tightened for room and severely checked.  DU HAST which was trailing was hampered as a result.  In the back straight WILD WEST WILLY was wide.

 

Stewards questioned trainer Mr. B Dull with regards to the actions of the greyhound TIP TIP HOORAY in the front straight on the run to the finish.  After considering all evidence stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that a charge could be substantiated and therefore gave the greyhound the benefit of the doubt.

GJ WALSH & CO 5th GRADE FINAL 431M

TITLE was best to begin and HO CHOI was marginally slow to begin.  Through the first turn RAMBLIN’ ROSE, OPPORTUNE KNOCKA and SPRING HOUDINI were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  Rounding the turn into the back straight FROSTY AJAY was tightened for room, severely checked and fell taking no further competitive part in the event.  TITLE which was trailing was severely checked as a result of this incident. R AMBLIN’ ROSE which was trailing the field was hampered as a result.  Entering the back straight HALF MINE was tightened for room and checked.

 

The greyhound FROSTY AJAY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 5th GRADE HEAT 4 431M

JAHIMIA was best to begin.  HAPPY GLEN was slow and SCAR’S BROTHER was very slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MADAM MEDUSA and HARA’S STORM bumped and were hampered as a result.  Entering the first turn HAPPY GLEN checked outwards contacting the hindquarters of HARA’S STORM resulting in both runners to be checked and shift wider on the turn.  Through the first turn SPRING MYSTERY was tightened for room and checked.  MADAM MEDUSA which was trailing was checked as a result.  SCAR’S BROTHER which was trailing that runner was hampered as a result.

CHEVALEIR NUIT and FYRE GAL were marginally slow to begin.  Through the first turn KNOCKA’S ASSET was tightened for room and hampered.  FYRE GAL which was trailing was hampered as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SPECIAL VISION was tightened for room and hampered.  Entering the turn out of the back straight KNOCKA’S ASSET was tightened for room and hampered.  FYRE GAL which was trailing was hampered and shifted out wide on the turn.  Over the concluding stages of the event IMA TALENT was tightened for room and hampered.
