The greyhound PERFECT LADY performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.91 and is now cleared all tracks except Brisbane.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

AURIGA CINDY was best to begin while MAYBE PETE was slowly away.  Immediately after the start ELUSIVE WATCH and FLYING TWISTER collided as did AIR TIME and MAYBE PETE.  Entering the 1st turn AURIGA CINDY was tightened and lost ground causing ELUSIVE WATCH to shift out and check the running of FLYING TWISTER and PHANTONM PETE, causing both greyhounds to fall.  AURIGA RAVEN, MAYBE PETE and AURIGA CINDY were all severely hampered as a result of this incident. In the 1st turn INDOMINOUS REX shifted wide.  Shortly after, ELUSIVE WATCH shifted out marring the running of AIR TIME and causing this greyhound to collide with INDOMINOUS RED and all 3 greyhounds lost significant ground.  In the turn MAYBE PETE eased when in clear running.  Entering the top turn AIR TIME and MAYBE PETE came together and were unbalanced.  Entering the home straight INDOMINOUS REX and ELUSIVE WATCH came together as did AIR TIME and MAYBE PETE.  Shortly after, INDOMINOUS REX checked off heels.  In the home straight MAYBE PETE turned its head inwards towards FLYING TWISTER.

 

The greyhound MAYBE PETE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. C Wills that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

The greyhound PHANTOM PETE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound ELUSIVE WATCH underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr D. Turley that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

The greyhound FLYING TWISTER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind leg and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

SKY RACING MAIDEN FINAL 520M

ALISSA’S ANGEL was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BINERAY BOY, HARRY’S PLACE and PHANTOM HENRY all collided.  In the front straight ALISSA’S ANGEL and HARRY’S PLACE collided.  In the top turn PHANTOM HENRY checked off heels.

 

The greyhound ALISSA’S ANGEL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. When questioned on the greyhound below market expectation performance trainer Mr S. Austen stated that he was confident in the greyhound’s chances in this event, given that it was beginning from box 1, and as a result he supported the greyhound on this occasion. He further stated that he was disappointed with the performance and will consider retiring the greyhound, as her performances have not been up to standard recently. Stewards noted Mr Austen’s comments.

 

The greyhound COWGIRL LUCY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE NOVICE 431M

WILDASH BAM BAM was best to begin while BIG SHOW HAWKO and JALANCY LEE were slowly away.  In the 1st turn FONIC THUNDER shifted out checking PRATER’S ACE.  Entering the back straight BIG SHOW HAWKO checked off heels.

BIG TURLS, RENALD’S RIVALRY and LIL’S ROSE were best to begin while LITTLE MISS SHOW and FIRED UP AGAIN were slowly away.  In the 1st turn LITTLE MISS SHOW was tightened and collided with LIL’S ROSE hampering this greyhound and LITTLE MISS SHOW was severely inconvenienced and lost significant ground as a result.  THUNDER OF FIRE which was following was also hampered.  In the 1st turn RENALD’S RIVALRY checked off heels.  Entering the 1st turn FIRED UP AGAIN checked off heels.  In the home straight LIL’S ROSE and BELVEDERE BABE collided.

 

The greyhound BELVEDERE BABE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound LITTLE MISS SHOW underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 4/5th GRADE 431M

COOL VANE was best to begin while MR. TRANSPORTER was slowly away.  Shortly after the start LIL’ BIT SPARKY, HOPPING HOUDINI and KLOEIS PRIDE collided.  Leaving the back straight KLOEIS PRIDE was tightened.  Entering the top turn HOPPING HOUDINI collided heavily with the running rail and lost ground.  COOL VANE checked off heels in the top turn.

 

The greyhound HOPPING HOUDINI underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GAB TAR was best to begin.  Shortly after the start AZA ZEUS, OH GOLLY GOSH and SHAKEY RANDLE were all tightened.  Entering the 1st turn OH GOLLY GOSH was tightened and lost ground.  In the 1st turn PLENTY OF PUNCH checked off heels and lost ground, colliding with SHAKEY RANDLE which was following and both greyhounds were hampered.

GJ WALSH & CO 5th GRADE FINAL 520M

GINGER BENZ was best to begin while MY SUPER and LIGHTNING WHITE were slowly away. COSMIC CAPERS and MIDNIGHT DASHER collided shortly after the start.  In the first turn COSMIC CAPERS, MIDNIGHT DASHER, MY SUPER and COME TOGETHER all collided and lost ground. In the top turn LIGHTNING WHITE shifted out and collided with COSMIC CAPERS.

MIGHTY NOVA, BEACH FRONT and GEORGE GALLON were best to begin.  Shortly after the start SLICK shifted out and tightened SENTIMENTAL LADY, PORT LISA and ARDEN STREET.  In the front straight GEORGE GALLON checked off heels and lost ground.  In the 1st turn SENTIMENTAL LADY checked off heels.  Entering the back straight GEORGE GALLON tailed off from the field.

 

The greyhound GEORGE GALLON underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

GETABLUE PET FOOD 5th GRADE 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start ELEGANT STRIDER and SKY BOND came together.  In the front straight ON THE RIZE was tightened and lost ground taking no further competitive part in the event.  Shortly after, ELEGANT STRIDER was hampered on heels.  Entering the 1st turn WATCH OUT RENALD and JACOBY RAIDER came together causing JACOBY RAIDER to shift out and check PENCIL and SKY BOND which lost ground.

 

The greyhound ON THE RIZE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

BENTAXLE was slow to begin.  BENTAXLE and LOVED UP collided shortly after the start.  In the 1st turn MADAM LOOPSY, REIYN CHAAI, ZODIAC SANDY and EUROA AZAZ all bumped and became unbalanced and TOBIAS RUMBLE which was following was inconvenienced.  Racing through the 1st turn BENTAXLE checked off heels.  Entering the back straight LOVED UP checked off heels.  Entering the top turn TOBIAS RUMBLE improved onto the heels of REIYN CHAAI and became unbalanced.  In the top turn MADAM LOOPSY checked off heels.
