Stewards Trial 1 – 431m

The greyhound AGRO’S THUNDER performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 413m in a time of 25.32 and is now cleared all tracks except Brisbane.

TIGI BENZ was best to begin.  HORSLEY ROCKET was slow to begin.  Through the first turn SNOW GIRL and AMUS UNLEASHED were tightened for room and checked.  HORSLEY ROCKET which was trailing was hampered as a consequence.  Shortly after SHEZA SHOCKER was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight DORRIE’S PICK checked off heels.  Shortly after HORSLEY ROCKET turned its head outwards and made muzzle contact with FROSTY BEJAY hampering that runner as a result.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. J Hauritz that the greyhound HORSLEY ROCKET would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 2nd offence, 3 months plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

SKY RACING MAIDEN 431M

AURIGA CINDY was marginally slow to begin.  At the start HOT MOONLIT NITE and FROSTY WITCH bumped resulting in HOT MOONLITE NITE to be hampered.  Through the first turn FROSTY FOX shifted inwards resulting in AURIGA CINDY which was trailing to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the back straight FROSTY WITCH, NIKOLUCKY, WHITE EAGLE, MAGIC BENZ and ASICIAO were all tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  Entering the turn out of the back straight AURIGA CINDY was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Rounding the turn and into the front straight FROSTY FOX raced greenly.  Shortly after HOT MOONLITE NITE and NIKOLUCKY collided resulting in NIKOLUCKY to be checked.

 

The greyhound FROSTY FOX underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

AURIGA RAVEN was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start ALADDIN’S ANGEL was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Through the first turn PENNYLESS and MAMA NATURE SAID were tightened for room and checked resulting in MAMA NATURE SAID to shift outwards.  ALADDIN’S ANGEL and ZILLIE BEAN which were trailing were checked as a result.  Entering the back straight PENNYLESS shifted outwards resulting in MAMA NATURE SAID which was racing to its outside to be checked.  Entering the top turn ALADDIN’S ANGEL was tightened for room and severely checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight AURIGA RAVEN checked off heels.  PENNYLESS was very wide in the back straight.

 

The greyhound ALADDIN’S ANGEL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

FERAL LAD, MY SUPER and MIGHTY NOVA were slow to begin.  Approaching the winning post on the first occasion SNOW RUNNER was tightened for room and checked and shifted inwards.  FERAL LAD which was racing to its inside was severely checked as a result.  Entering the first turn SKY BOND shifted outwards and collided with RENALD’S RIVALRY resulting in both runners to be checked and shift out wider on the turn.  MIGHTY NOVA which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the back straight FERAL LAD checked off heels.  Entering the top turn SNOW RUNNER was tightened for room and checked.  Over the concluding stages of the event FERAL LAD and RENALD’S RIVALRY bumped on a number of occasions resulting in FERAL LAD to be checked.

 

The greyhound FERAL LAD underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 4/5th GRADE HEAT 1 431M

Even start.  Entering the first turn EUROA AZAZ and MAYWYN’S COPY were tightened for room and hampered.  Shortly after ROAD TO FLAME and SPRING SHELLEY were tightened for room and severely checked.  MAYWYN’S COPY which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  In the back straight EUROA AZAZ shifted outwards resulting in BOGART BLEND which was racing to its outside to be checked.  MAYWYN’S COPY was wide in the back straight.  Entering the top turn SPRING SHELLEY and BOGART BLEND were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  Rounding the turn into the front straight ROAD TO FLAME shifted outwards and collided with EUROA AZAZ resulting in that runner to be severely checked and forced out wide.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND 4/5th GRADE HEAT 2 431M

DU HAST and OPPORTUNE KNOCKA were slow to begin.  Through the first turn SHEZA KEEN SIZE was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Shortly after OPPORTUNE KNOCKA checked off heels.  Entering the top turn LIL’ BIT SPARKY contacted the hindquarters of PERFECT LADY resulting in LIL’ BIT SPARKY to be checked and PERFECT LADY to be severely checked.  Through the top turn SHEZA KEEN SIZE bumped the running rail and was hampered as a result.  OPPORTUNE KNOCKA which was trailing checked off that runner’s heels.

 

The greyhound PERFECT LADY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SHEZA KEEN SIZE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.  Stewards questioned trainer Mr. P Ruetschi with regards to the performance of the greyhound.  Mr. Ruetschi stated that he was disappointed with the greyhound’s run with expectations that it would win however, was happy with its run to the finish.  He further stated that the greyhound had been trialling well leading up to its first run back from an injury however, he would be endeavouring to race the greyhound in future at Albion Park over the 520m distance.  Stewards noted his explanation.

TIP TIP HOORAY was marginally slow to begin.  At the start JAHIMIA slipped off the mat and was hampered as a result.  Approaching the first turn MAYWYN IF LUCKY was tightened for room and hampered.  Rounding the turn into the back straight JAHIMIA, HARA’S HOOK and MAYWYN IF LUCKY were all tightened for room and checked.  In the back straight JAHIMIA shifted outwards and collided with HARA’S HOOK resulting in that runner to be checked.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight HARRY BENZ shifted inwards resulting in JAHIMIA which was racing to its inside to be checked.  Entering the turn out of the back straight MAYWYN IF LUCKY improved onto the heels of TIP TIP HOORAY resulting in that runner to be severely checked fall, and take no further competitive part in the event.  JAHIMIA which was trailing made contact with this greyhound and was severely checked as a result.  Through the top turn HARRY BENZ collided with LOOK THE PART resulting in both runners to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight MAYWYN IF LUCKY checked outwards and contacted the heels of LOOK THE PART resulting in both runners to be checked and lose ground.  HARRY BENZ and JAHIMIA were wide in the back straight.  In the front straight JAHIMIA was very wide.

 

The greyhound JAHIMIA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound TI TIP HOORAY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

MASTER LAGOON was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start THIS TIME MADDIE was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Rounding the turn into the back straight HARRY BAILEY was tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight COOL VANE checked off heels.

SPRING MYSTERY and BIG DIPPA were slow to begin.  Entering the firs turn ENKA ALLEN and SENOR’S SON collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  GET SHORTY which was racing to their outside was checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the back straight ENKA ALLEN was tightened for room and severely checked.  Entering the top turn BIG DIPPA was tightened for room and checked.  GET SHORTY which was trailing was checked and forced out wider on the turn as a result.

HO CHOI and CAPTAIN’S KNOCK were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start CAPTAIN’S KNOCK checked inwards across the heels of HO CHOI and was hampered as a result.  Rounding the turn into the back straight MAYWYN’S YING contacted the hindquarters of LENNY BENZ resulting in both runners to be checked.  Entering the back straight BRAE GIFT and FROSTY BROWN were tightened for room and checked.  Entering the top turn BRAE GIFT and FROSTY BROWN were tightened for room and momentarily hampered.

 

The greyhound BRAE GIFT underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
