Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound RAGNAR LOTHBROK performed a
satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.43 and
is now cleared all tracks except Brisbane and up to the distance of 431m
only. |

TYRE REPAIRS MAIDEN 520M MATRICULATE
was slow to begin. Shortly after the
start PRATER’S PROMISE, PALLINGTON and MATRICULATE all collided. Approaching the 1st turn
PALLINGTON was tightened. Entering the
1st turn PHONICS shifted out hampering WAZZA QUEEN and both
greyhounds lost ground. In the home
straight PALLINGTON turned its head and marred the running of MATRICULATE
which was racing to its inside. The
greyhound PALLINGTON underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was
found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a
period of 10 days. Stewards advised
trainer Mr. N. Eastell that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69
Marring, 2nd offence, 3 months plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial
520m all tracks. |

O’REILLY PET FOOD NOVICE 520M GRAND ANGEL and RENALD’S RIVALRY were best to begin. Shortly after the start ISLA’S OPAL,
PRATER’S ACE and AURIGA BINDI all collided causing PRATER’S ACE to lose
ground. In the front straight RUMBLING
JAKE checked off heels. PRATER’S ACE
was hampered entering the 1st turn. In the 1st turn RENALD’S RIVALRY
improved onto the heels of GRAND ANGEL and both greyhounds were checked as a
result with CHECKOUT CHARLIE which was racing to their outside also
inconvenienced. Leaving the back
straight AURIGA BINDI as tightened. In
the top turn FIRED UP AGAIN was tightened. |

C2C CONSTRUCTIONS 4/5th GRADE 520M MIGHTY NOVA
was best to begin. Approaching the 1st
turn JEN ROSE HI was tightened and fell and took no further competitive part
in the event. SENTIMENTAL LADY, WILD
WEST WILLY and SPILLING SECRETS were severely unbalanced as a result of this incident
and lost ground. WILD WEST WILLY was
wide in the home straight. The greyhound
JEN ROSE HI underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found. |

HEAT 1 520M AKKATOR and FERAL LAD were best to begin while ME HAPPY
and PORT LISA were slowly away.
AKKATOR and MUST BE MAX collided shortly after the start. Entering the 1st turn ME HAPPY
improved onto the heels of AKKATOR checking this greyhound. Shortly after PYRO BOB and FERAL LAD
collided and were unbalanced causing FERAL LAD to lose ground. Approaching the top turn PORT LISA was
tightened. ME HAPPY and PORT LISA were
tightened entering the home straight. The greyhound ME HAPPY underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind back
muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

& DISTRICT COMMUNITY BANK AUCTION SERIES HEAT 2 520M LANTANA LASS, WINDY GIRL and COMANECI were best to begin
while BLAZE ROSE HI was slowly away.
MJOLINER and MUSTANG NOVA collided shortly after the start. Entering the 1st turn MJOLINER
and COMANECI checked off heels while PEPPER BEACH and MUSTANG NOVA raced
tight and unbalanced. COSMIC DENLYN
was tightened entering the back straight.

HEAT 3 520M JESS ROSE HI and AZA ZEUS were best to begin while
SALUDOS and TURN AND BURN were slowly away.
Entering the 1st turn VEE BEE DOOLEY, TURN AND BURN, BILLY
BEAN and SALUDOS all collided and were unbalanced causing BILLY BEAN and TURN
AND BURN to lose ground as a result.
VEE BEE DOOLEY and JESS ROSE HI collided in the home straight. The greyhound BILLY BEAN underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound TURN AND BURN underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and
was stood down for a period of 28 days. |

HEAT 4 520M WERINA LIGHTNING and JUSTIFIED began awkwardly. SHUNT MAN was tightened in the front
straight and proceeded to check off heels entering the 1st
turn. SHUNT MAN and WATCH OUT RENALD
collided in the top turn. |

AUCTION SERIES HEAT 5 520M LEIGTH ROSE HI and PRECIOUS TO ME were
best to begin. Shortly after the start
FLAPPING GUMDS shifted out while LAZZA MANAZZA shifted in causing severely
tightening to CHILL JILL, ANNIE UNDERCOVER and RATHER DAPPER forcing these
greyhounds to lose ground. LAZZA
MANAZZA and FLAPPING GUMS collided shortly after causing FLAPPING GUMS to
lose ground. FLAPPING GUMS checked off
heels entering the 1st turn.
PRECIOUS TO ME was hampered entering the back straight. FLAPPING GUMS was wide in the back
straight. |

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 4/5th GRADE 431M Even start. TRISHA
NOLAN, ALEEAH JET, HARRY BENZ, SNEAKIN’ OUT and ONLY EXIT were all tight in
the 1st turn and checked to varying degrees. SNEAKIN’ OUT, TRISHA NOLAN and SHANAE’S
MAGIC raced tight and unbalanced passing the catching pen. Approaching the top turn SHANAE’S MAGIC
improved onto the heels of SNEAKIN’ OUT causing both greyhounds to become
unbalanced and SHANAE’S MAGIC to lose ground.
TRISHA NOLAN and ALEEAH JET which were following were hampered. IONISATION was tightened in the top turn. |

tightened in the 1st turn.
GET SHORTY checked off heels entering the back straight. SIX GUN and SHAKEY RANDLE collided in the
back straight. TOOKA HALF and COSMO
WAZ were tightened entering the top turn and lost ground. BELLA LEE, SIX GUN and ASTIN’S WARRIOR
which were following were hampered as a result. |
