Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound
WITTCOTT FLYER failed to complete a 6 month trial over the distance of 431m
due to a malfunction with the mechanical lure. |

HEAT 1 431M The
start of this event was delayed while stewards held for an interstate event. Even
start. Shortly after the start ASICIAO
and SHOW BEKIM collided and ASICIAO was hampered. In the 1st turn DUE CREDIT,
ZHICHAO LEE and SPLENDIFEROUS were all tightened and became unbalanced
causing severe interference to ZHICHAO LEE and SPLENDIFEROUS. SHOW BEKIM and SWIFT LEAH that were
following were also checked as a result.
ZHICHAO LEE was hampered entering the back straight. Shortly after, SWIFT LEAH and SPLENDIFEROUS
collided causing SPLENDIFEROUS to lose ground. Approaching the top turn ASICIAO was tightened
and lost ground. ZHICHAO LEE that was
following was hampered. SWIFT LEAH and
ZHICHAO LEE were tightening and became unbalanced in the top turn. The
greyhound ZHICHAO LEE underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found
to have suffered an injury to the off side hip, and was stood down for a
period of 7 days. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN
HEAT 2 431M ARFA SHOW OFF, SLICE OF CAKE and GUNLEE GIRL were slow to
begin. In the 1st turn
SPRING ERNIE, BOGIE TEEJAY, DODGY CREDIT and SUPA PASS all collided and
became unbalanced. GUNLEE GIRL, SLICE
OF CAKE, MOLLY CONNELL and ARFA SHOW OFF that were following were
hampered. SPRING ERNIE, BOGIE TEEJAY,
DODGY CREDIT and SUPA PASS continued to race tight rounding the 1st
turn and as a result BOGIE TEEJAY fell and took no further competitive part
in the event. DODGY CREDIT was also
severely checked. GUNLEE GIRL and
SLICE OF CAKE that were following were severely hampered as a result of this
incident. The greyhound BOGIE TEEJAY underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

ALPHA 380 FINANCE MAIDEN FINAL 431M The beginning
of this race was slightly delayed when LITE ME UP proved difficult to
box. The greyhound was subsequently
declared ‘hard to box’. STAR RISE was
best to begin while BONKNOCKA BEANS was slowly away. In the 1st turn STAR RISE was
tightened and shifted out colliding with FAB FIT, DESERT CHILD and LITE ME UP
which were racing to the outside. At
the same time, KYLE THE TANK and POCKET BENZ were tightened and became
unbalanced. Entering the back straight
BONKNOCKA BEANS checked off heels and collided with FAB FIT which lost
ground. Approaching the top turn KYLE
THE TANK was tightened and lost ground.
FAB FIT and STAR RISE that were following were hampered. In the top turn, LITE ME UP and KYLE THE
TANK collided. In the top turn, FAB
FIT shifted in and made heavy contact with the running rail and lost
ground. DESERT CHILD and KYLE THE TANK
collided entering the home straight. The greyhound
FAB FIT underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found to have suffered
an injury to the near hind leg, and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

NOVICE 431M THUNDER OF FIRE and CANUTE’S LAW were best to begin while
KAAN PAKMAK was slowly away and tightened shortly after the start. Shortly after the start CZARNY, RUN RUNNER,
THUNDER OF FIRE and ALADDIN’S ANGEL all collided and became unbalanced
causing all 4 greyhounds to lose ground.
TURBO BURN and DORREGO checked off heels and were hampered. KAAN PAKMAK was wide entering the back
straight. Entering the top turn RUM
RUNNER and CZARNY were tightened.
THUNDER OF FIRE and CZARNY raced tight over the concluding stages. |

TYRE REPAIRS NOVICE 431M DUSTY’S DESTINY was best to begin.
In the 1st turn BACK ON TRACK and WILDASH DIVA collided
causing FANCY FREEL which was following to be hampered. FANCY FREEL checked off heels in the back
straight. In the top turn BACK ON
TRACK and SPRING DOTTIE collided causing SPRING DOTTIE to become severely
unbalanced. POUNCING LILIE and DUSTY’S
DESTINY collided in the home straight. The greyhound SPRING DOTTIE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found. |

O’REILLY PET FOOD 5th GRADE 431M SPRING DORRIE and LONNIE’S BANJO were slow to begin. In the 1st turn OLE MATE KICK,
SNOZZSTA and NOIRE CHERIE collided; as did STEP BACK LASS, LONNIE’S BANJO and
SPRING DORRIE. LONNIE’S BANJO was
hampered entering the back straight.
Approaching the top turn STEP BACK LASS was tightened and lost ground
and SPRING DORRIE which was following was hampered. In the top turn SNOZZSTA shifted in and
collided with GOTTA BE BLACK. The greyhound STEP BACK LASS underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries
were found. |

5th GRADE 520M HESPERIDES was best to begin. Immediately after the start LIGHTNING WHITE
shifted out causing severe tightening to ALPHA HECTOR, BIKINI CLOUD, RANGER
DANGER and FROSTY AJAY and all 4 greyhounds lost ground. ALPHA HECTOR, BIKINI CLOUD and FROSTY AJAY
collided entering the 1st turn. |

CONSTRUCTIONS 3/4th GRADE 431M BURNING OAK, COOL VALE and GOTCHA CHA
CHA were best to begin. CORY’S DIAMOND
and TRY COMB collided shortly after the start and in the 1st
turn. GOTCHA CHA CHA was checked in
the 1st turn. STUBBORN
STATE was tightened in the back straight.
GOTCHA CHA CHA was wide in the back straight. ONYA BENZ was tightened approaching the top
turn. Shortly after, TRY COMB made
contact with the running rail and became unbalanced. In the top turn STUBBORN STATE was
tightened and lost ground. The greyhound TRY COMB underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found. |

SURGEON 5th GRADE 431M ARDVARK and CUT THE CAKE were slow to begin. PREPARE YOURSELF was hampered in the 1st
turn. FEARSOME MISS was wide in the
back straight. Entering the top turn
LOOK THE PART improved onto the heels of FEARSOME MISS and both greyhounds
were checked. The greyhound FEARSOME MISS
underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered
an injury to the off fore leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

5th GRADE 431M SHIMATTA and WILDASH BAM BAM were best to begin while ON
THE WALL was marginally slow. SPRING
DOLLY, ON THE WALL, HURRICANE CHANCE, BENTAXLE and FLASHING FERGO all bumped
in the 1st turn and were checked to varying degrees. SPRING DOLLY and FLASHNG FERGO were
hampered entering the top turn. SPRING
DOLLY and FLASHING FERGO raced tight entering the home straight. YOU JANE was wide entering the home
straight. |
