Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound MAGIC
BENZ performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a
time of 26.02 and is now cleared all tracks. |

MAIDEN HEAT 1 431M STAR
RISE and ALFONSO were best to begin while JACKSON BENZ was slowly away. In the 1st turn STAR RISE and
ALFONSO collided which caused SHOW BEKIM to check off heels and collide with
JACKSON BENZ. Passing the catching pen
ALFONSO was tightened and lost ground, causing SPRING REMI which was
following to be hampered and lose ground.
JACKSON BENZ and STAR RISE collided entering the home straight. The
greyhound SPRING REMI underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found
to have suffered an injury to the near fore foot, and was stood down for a
period of 7 days. |

SKY RACINGMAIDEN HEAT
2 431M SUPA PASS was best to begin. In the 1st turn ROXANNE BENZ
checked off heels causing BERT SWANG, SLICE OF CAKE and DAHOMEY WINDSONG to
be hampered. Leaving the 1st
turn SHOT TO FAME improved onto the heels of ROXANNE BENZ, both greyhounds
became unbalanced and ROXANNE BENZ fell taking no further part in the
event. Approaching the top turn SPRING
NOVA was tightened and lost ground.
SPRING NOVA was checked leaving the top turn. The ‘all clear’ for this event was delayed while stewards
examined the patrol films to ascertain whether there was any interference
caused by the fallen greyhound ROXANNE BENZ as it approached the field in the
home straight. Once Stewards were
satisfied that no greyhound was materially affected by the presence of ROXANNE
BENZ ‘all clear’ was declared. The greyhound ROXANNE BENZ underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

ALPHA 390 FINANCE MAIDEN FINAL 431M NINPIN, KYLE
THE TANK and POCKET BENZ were best to begin while DODGY CREDIT was slowly
away. Shortly after the start FOREST
DWELLER checked off heels. In the 1st
turn GALWAY HYPERACT checked off heels while LAZZA MANAZZA and DODGY CREDIT
collided causing DODGY CREDIT to lose ground.
Leaving the back straight KYLE THE TANK was tightened and lost ground. The greyhound
FOREST DWELLER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found. |

NOVICE 431M JAYCEE’S LADY was slow to begin. In the 1st turn DAHOMEY
WINDFIRE, KAAN PAKMAK, VELOCITY ALLY and SPRING ERNIE all collided and
JAYCEE’S LADY which was following was inconvenienced. In the 1st turn SPRING ERNIE was
hampered and lost ground. Entering the
back straight DAHOMEY WINDFIRE contacted the running rail and shifted out
colliding with VELOCITY ALLY and both greyhounds lost ground. JAYCEE’S LADY which was following was
hampered as a result. KAAN PAKMAK was
wide in the back straight. The greyhound DAHOMEY WINDFIRE underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. Trainer Ms. M. McLennan was reminded of her
obligations to follow the orders of the starter when preparing to load her
greyhound in the starting boxes. |

TYRE REPAIRS NOVICE 431M POUNDING LILIE was slow to begin. Shortly after the start SHAKEY START,
HURUNUI ALYSSA, WILDASH ABBY and BRASS ROAD all collided. DORREGO and MIDNIGHT BURN collided in the 1st
turn. BRASS ROAD was hampered leaving
the 1st turn. DORREGO and
SHAKEY START were both tightened and lost ground when entering the top turn
and POUNCING LILIE and WILDASH ABBY
which were following were both hampered.
In the top turn HURUNUI ALYSSA and SHAKEY START bumped and became
unbalanced. In the top turn DORREGO
and POUNCING LILIE collided causing POUNCING LILIE to lose ground. The greyhound POUNCING LILIE underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

O’REILLY PET FOOD 4/5th GRADE 431M MURBAH GOLD was slow to begin. Immediately after the start SPRING LAUREN,
GITCHA ROSES and DARK SMIFFY collided.
In the 1st turn MURBAH GOLD checked off heels and collided
with DARK SMIFFY and GITCHA ROSES which was following was
inconvenienced. Leaving the 1st
turn SPRING LAUREN checked off heels causing WILDASH BAM BAM and SPRING SHELLEY
that were following to be inconvenienced.
CITCHA ROSES was tightened entering the top turn. The greyhound GITCHA ROSES underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. Trainer Mr. G Mitchell noted to stewards
that the greyhound does not race well when receiving pressure on its outside,
and he believed that this could explain the greyhound’s performance in this
event. Stewards noted Mr. Mitchell’s comments. |

GRADE 431M MAKE TODAY COUNT was best to begin. Shortly after the start SPRING AUDREY,
RAGNAR LOTHBROK, PENTADOG, TITLE and SPLIT IMAGE all bumped and were
unbalanced. In the 1st turn
SPLIT IMAGE checked off heels and became unbalanced. TITLE checked off heels leaving the 1st
turn. GOTCHA CHA CHA faltered in its
stride entering the back straight.
Entering the top turn RAGNAR LOTHBROK was hampered on the heels of
MAKE TODAY COUNT, became unbalanced and collided with SPLIT IMAGE and both
greyhounds lost significant ground.
PENTADOG checked off heels in the top turn. GOTCHA CHA CHA was wide in the home
straight. The greyhound SPLIT IMAGE underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound RAGNAR LOTHBROK underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

CONSTRUCTIONS 5th GRADE 520M SHUNT MAN and COSMIC YESSAM were
marginally slow to begin. In the front
straight COSMIC YESSAM was hampered as DROP SHORT shifted out and collided
with RHONDDA MINER. Shortly after,
MIDNIGHT DASHER and SENTIMENTAL LADY came together and were unbalanced. Entering the back straight WHAT A MESS
shifted out and hampered MIDNIGHT DASHER which was following. Leaving the top turn SENTIMENTAL LADY and
WHAT A MESS collided and were unbalanced. |

SURGEON 5th GRADE 431M REAL CALL and CASEY MINI ME were best to begin. Shortly after the start HEARTLAND FLYER and
STEP BACK LASS were checked and lost ground.
RUNAWAY KITTY, SPRING POLLY and REAL CALL collided in the 1st
turn causing SPRING POLLY and REAL CALL to lose ground. FARAHMAC was also inconvenienced as a
result of this incident. Entering the
top turn RUNAWAY KITTY improved onto the heels of ROAD CAM causing both
greyhounds to be checked. In the top
turn CASEY MINI ME was tightened and shifted in hampering SPRING POLLY which
was following. SPRING POLLY and
HEARTLAND FLYER colliding entering the home straight. |

5th GRADE 431M ON THE WALL was best to begin. Shortly after the start SLIP MY MIND was
tightened and lost ground. In the 1st
turn JUST SIZE and RUNYA DOWN collided and became unbalanced. Leaving the 1st turn FAMOUS
MOLLY and SLIP MY MIND collided. In
the back straight FAMOUS MOLLY checked off heels and became unbalanced and
lost ground. Entering the top turn
FROSTY AJAY was tightened and lost ground. The greyhound FAMOUS MOLLY underwent a post-race veterinary
examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the chest, and was stood
down for a period of 10 days. |
