Stewards Trial 1 – 520m The greyhound HESA
BIRD performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a
time of 30.74 and is now cleared all tracks except Brisbane. |

MAIDEN HEAT 1 520M Even
start with the exception of ANOTHER NORRIS which was slow to begin. Shortly after the start DOODOOMP and NO NOT
ME were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Leaving the front straight FROSTY BEJAY
shifted out which hampered the running of MR. BELVEDERE and NOT FOR
LONG. As a result of this incident
both FROSTY BEJAY and NOT FOR LONG raced wide. Rounding the turn out of the front straight
NO NOT ME was tightened for racing room, checked across the hindquarters of
DOODOOMP and collided with MASKED ZORRO resulting in both NO NOT ME and
MASKED ZORRO to be checked and lose ground.
Entering the front straight during the run to the finish DOODOOMP and
MASKED ZORRO collided resulting in both greyhounds to be momentarily
hampered. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT
2 520M Even start with the exception of PHANTOM PETE an SLICE OF
CAKE which were marginally slow to begin.
Shortly after the start AURIGA CINDY and BINERAY BOY was both
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. The greyhound BINERAY BOY underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE NOVICE 520M ELUSIVE
WATCH, KURO ROSE and CYNO STEIN were best to begin. Rounding the turn out of the front straight
FLYING TWISTER and CYNO STEIN collided resulting in both greyhounds to be
checked and lose ground. Approaching
the turn into the back straight MRS POLETTI improved onto the hindquarters of
KURO ROSE resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Entering the back straight MRS POLETTI was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. PRATER’S ACE which was trailing was checked
as a consequence. Entering the back
straight ELUSIVE WATCH turned its head outwards in the direction of KURO ROSE
and failed to chase the lure with due diligence. As a consequence, ELUSIVE WATCH gave ground
over a short distance. The greyhound
MRS POLETTI underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent
injuries were found. Stewards
questioner trainer Mrs. C Harman in regards to the greyhound’s action
rounding the turn into the back straight.
Stewards were concerned with the action of MRS POLETTI in that it may
have turned its head towards KURO ROSE.
After viewing all available video footage stewards could not be
comfortably satisfied to lay a charge against MRS POLETTI and it gave it the
benefit of the doubt. The greyhound
ELUSIVE WATCH underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent
injuries were found. Stewards advised
trainer Mr. D Turley that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A)
Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory
stewards’ trial 520m all tracks. |

NOVICE 520M Even start with the exception of JIMARY BOND which was
marginally slow to begin. Leaving the
front straight SUPER SCOOTER and MUSTANG NOVA were tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. The greyhound AIR TIME underwent a post race veterinarian
examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind back
muscle and was stood down for a period of 14 days. |

GRADE HEAT 1 520M SENTIMENTAL LADY, SPRING SHANAE and GET A LIFEBOUY were
best to begin. Approaching the turn
out of the front straight SPRING SHANAE and UNDER ADVICE were both tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
Rounding the turn out of the front straight SENTIMENTAL LADY was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Entering the back straight SENTIMENTAL LADY
was tightened for racing room and momentarily hampered. Leaving the back straight UNDER ADVICE was
tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. In the front straight during the latter
stages of the race UNDER ADVICE was tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. |

Shortly after the start THAT HOUDINI and VEE BEE DOOLEY were tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
Shortly after MIGHTY NOVA was tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. Approaching the turn out
of the front straight VEE BEE DOOLEY was tightened for racing room, checked
and lost ground. Rounding the turn out
of the front straight ARABELLA an GAGAN CEE JAY collided resulting in GAGAN
CEE JAY to be checked and lose ground.
Entering the back straight MIGHTY NOVA was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. |

C2C CONTRUCTIONS 3/4th
GRADE 431M Even start with the exception of SPLIT IMAGE and MILKY
CHANCE which were both marginally slow to begin. Through the 1st turn the
majority of the field with the exception of GO LASSIE GO were all tightened
for racing room and checked to varying degrees. |

GRADE 520M KNEW YOU WOULD was best to begin. PUNCH RIGHT OUT and SON OF BETTY were slow
to begin. In the front straight on the
1st occasion KNEW YOU WOULD and WINDY GIRL bumped on a number of
occasions. SON OF BETTY gave ground
over the final 100m. The greyhound SON OF BETTY underwent a
post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury
to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 21 days. |

GRADE 431M Even start.
Through the 1st turn BURNING OAK, DUSTY’S CHANCE and LEEROY
ROGUE were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight
DASHING BRADSTA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. BURNING OAK and LEEROY ROGUE which were trailing
were checked as a consequence with LEEROY ROGUE losing ground. LEEROY ROGUE raced wide rounding the turn
into the front straight. The greyhound LEEROY ROGUE underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

5th GRADE 431M Even start with the exception of SIX GUN and RED STEEL
which were both marginally slow to begin.
Shortly after the start SIX GUN and RED STEEL collided resulting in
both greyhounds to be momentarily hampered.
Through the 1st turn the majority of the field with the
exception of MINSTREL MAN were tightened for racing room and checked to
varying degrees. SIX GUN was severely
checked as a result of this incident and fell and took no further competitive
part in the race. Leaving the back
straight ASTIN’S WARRIOR and SPECTRAILLE collided resulting in both
greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.
Rounding the turn into the front straight SPECTRAILLE was tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
RED STEEL and NAUGHTY JESS collided over a number of occasions in the
front straight during the run to the finish. The greyhound SIX GUN underwent a post race veterinarian
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |
