Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound
SPECIAL VIRTUE performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 4313m
in a time of 25.42. |

MAIDEN 431M STAR
RISE and WHITE EAGLE were best to begin.
KIMARI MARIA was marginally slow to begin. Through the 1st turn WHITE EAGLE
and DAHOMEY WINDSONG were tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. SPRING REMI which was trailing
was checked as a consequence and lost ground.
Entering the back straight WHITE EAGLE and DAHOMEY WINDSONG collided
resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Approaching the turn out of the back
straight DAHOMEY WINDSONG was tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. At the same time SPRING REMI
was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground and collided with
KIMARI MARIA resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose
considerable ground. The
greyhound SPRING REMI underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no
apparent injuries were found. The
greyhound KIMARI MARIA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no
apparent injuries were found. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN 431M Even start with the exception of SPRING BENNY which was
marginally slow to begin and BLAZE ROSE Hi which was slow to begin. Shortly after the start SMOKIN’ ALICE and
HOT collided. Through the 1st
turn JOJO BELLE and MADRE were tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. At the same time SPRING BENNY,
SMOKIN’ ALICE and HOT collided resulting in SPRING BENNY to be checked and
lose ground with SMOKIN’ ALICE and HOT to be severely checked and lose
considerable ground. Entering the back
straight JOJO BELLE and MADRE collided resulting in MADRE to be checked and
lose ground. Leaving the back straight
SPRING ROY and WILL TO WIN collided resulting in both greyhounds to be
severely checked and lose considerable ground. |

ALPHA 390 FINANCE MAIDEN 431M Even
start. Shortly after the start NO
CURFEW and CATCH ME KEITH collided.
Through the 1st turn FROSTY BLACK JAY and RICHMOND ROAD
were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. At the same time SHEZA JEWEL and CATCH ME
KEITH collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose
ground. Entering the back straight NO
CURFE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight
SHEZA JEWEL checked across the heels of SMART SHIRL and raced wide. CALL ME KEITH raced wide in the front
straight. The greyhound
SMART SHIRL underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent
injuries were found. When questioned
over the performance trainer Mr. A Sommerfield said that the greyhound races
best when leading and after jumping sideways at the start it put it at a disadvantage
for the remainder of the race. He said
that although SMART SHIRL suffered some interference throughout the race he
was disappointed with its overall performance and it would be his intention
to have the greyhound thoroughly examined by his own veterinary surgeon prior
to racing. |

NOVICE 431M TURBO BURN and ME HAPPY were best to begin. Through the 1st turn BIG DIPP,
DAHOMEY WINDFIRE and DAD’S THE WORD were tightened for racing room, checked
and lost ground. In the front straight
during the latter stages of the race TURBO BURN turned its head outwards to
the direction of ME HAPPY and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment. The greyhound TURBO BURN underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. M Brauer that
the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st
offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks. |

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 4/5th GRADE 431M Even start with the exception of SHAYLOR ANDRE and WHO
DAT GUN which were marginally slow to begin.
KOORINGA BUD was slow to begin.
Approaching the 1st turn IRONBAR JILL and BOOTY BEACH
collided on a number of occasions.
Through the 1st turn IRONBAR JILL, BOOTY BEACH and
CHEVALEIR NUIT were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost
ground. Entering the back straight
IRONBAR JILL and BOOTY BEACH collided resulting in both greyhounds to be
checked and lose ground. KIKEM ZEST
and KOORINGA BUD which were trailing were both checked as a result of this
incident. The greyhound BOOTY BEACH underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

5th GRADE 520M Even start.
Shortly after the start CLOVER KNOX, WATCH OUT RENALD and ZABDON BLUEY
were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight
CLOVER KNOX and WATCH OUT RENALD bumped resulting in WATCH OUT RENALD to
shift out and raced wide. SKY BOND
which was racing to its outside was hampered as a consequence and raced
wide. Entering the back straight
ZABDON BLUEY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. |

after the start ORANGE THUNDER was tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. Through the 1st
turn TRISHA NOLAN and SPARK YOU UP collided resulting in both greyhounds to
be checked and lose ground. FLYING
PRINCESS commenced to give ground in the back straight. HYDROGEN, SPARK YOU UP and JANE’S JEZABEL
which were all trialling were checked as a consequence. The greyhound FLYING PRINCESS underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. D Sykes that
the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st
offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks. |

5th GRADE 431M Even start with the exception of JAYCEE’S LADY which was
marginally slow to begin. Approaching
the 1st turn HOPEFUL BLUE, LEIGTH ROSE HI, ALLPA MAMA and MISTER
DEBONAIR all raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked to varying
degrees with HOPEFUL BLUE losing ground.
MIDNIGHT BURN lost some ground entering the back straight. The greyhound MIDNIGHT BURN underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. |
