Stewards Trial 1 – 431m The greyhound PRATER’S RECRUIT performed a
satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.85 and
is now cleared all tracks. |

MAIDEN 520M BINERAY
BOY was best to begin. Shortly after
the start BURNING and WALLOON MISS were both tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
Shortly after SPECIAL COVER was tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground.
Rounding the turn out of the front straight BURNING and SPRING PETE
raced wide resulting in SPRING PETE to be checked
and race wide. Approaching the turn
into the back straight BURNING and SWEET KAMARA collided resulting in both
greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. In the back straight SPRING
PETE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. WALLOON MISS raced wide in the back
straight. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN FINAL 520M Even start with the exception of FREEWAY KING which was marginally slow to begin. Shortly after the start
FREEWAY KING was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Leaving the front straight APACHE BROOK and
SPLENDIFEROUS collided resulting in both greyhounds to be
checked and lose ground. At the
same time SIMMSY’S NINERON checked across the heels of PAUA TO LAUNCH and was
checked as a consequence and lost ground.
Rounding the turn into the back straight ORBIT THE SUN was tightened
for racing room, shifted out and collided with PAUA TO LAUNCH
which then shifted out and collided with APACHE BROOK resulting in
ORBIT THE SUN and PAUA TO LAUNCH to lose ground with APACHE BROOK being
severely checked and lose considerable ground. |

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE NOVICE 431M Even
start. Through the 1st turn RUMBLING JAKE and WILDASH DIVA were tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground.
Entering the back straight FONIC THUNDER was tightened for racing
room, checked, shifted out and collided with WILDASH DIVA resulting in both
greyhounds to be severely checked and lose
considerable ground. SUPER SCOOTER which was trailing was checked as a consequence
and lost ground. Leaving the back
straight PRATER’S ACE was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. The greyhound
WILDASH DIVA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were
found. The greyhound
FONIC THUNDER underwent a post race veterinarian
examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip and
was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

begin. Shortly after the start TOBI TINKLER and PHANTOM HENRY collided resulting in
PHANTOM HENRY to be checked and lose ground.
Shortly after PHANTOM HENRY and SISSO’S JOY
collided resulting in SISSO’S JOY to be checked and lose ground. Leaving the front straight VELOCITY ALLY
shifted out and collided with SISSO’S JOY causing that greyhound to shift out
and collide with FAMOUS MOLLY which resulted in
FAMOUS MOLLY shifting out and colliding with FLYING TWISTER. All greyhounds were checked to varying
degrees and lost ground with FAMOUS MOLLY losing considerable
ground. Entering the back straight
SISSO’S JOY improved onto the heels of PHANTOM HENRY and lost ground. Approaching the turn out of the back
straight FAMOUS MOLLY eased and lost considerable ground. The greyhound SISSO’S JOY underwent a post
race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards inquired into the manners of PHANTOM HENRY
during the latter stages of the race where it appeared to turned its head
toward FLYING TWISTER which was racing to its inside. After taking evidence from trainer’s
representative K Brown stewards gave the greyhound the benefit of the doubt
as they could not be comfortably satisfied the greyhound had turned its head
at that stage as there was a collision between the 2 greyhounds leading up to
the incident. The greyhound FAMOUS MOLLY underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Ms. M Goodwin that
the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A)

SNOZZSTA and MAYWYN’S ACE were tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. |

CZARNY and AURIGA BINDI collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked
and lose ground. RHYTHMIC EARNER race
ungenerously approaching the turn into the back straight and lost ground. In the back straight AURIGA BINDI was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. The greyhound RHYTHMIC EARNER underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have
suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 14
days. |

GJ WALSH & CO 4/5th GRADE 520M PRINCESS EMALYS, FLAPPING GUMS and MURBAH GOLD were best
to begin. Shortly after the start KNEW
YOU WOULD, SPRING MYSTERY and SHUNT MAN were all tightened
for racing room, checked and lost ground.
Approaching the turn out of the front straight ANOTHER HASSLER
commenced to give ground to finish a considerable distance from the remainder
of the field. KNEW YOU WOULD which was trailing was checked as a consequence and
lost ground. Rounding the turn out of
the front straight FLAPPING GUMS shifted out and collided
with MURBAH GOLD resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose
ground. Approaching the turn into the
back straight SHUNT MAN improved onto the heels of MURBAH GOLD and lost
ground as a consequence. Rounding the turn into the back straight
SPRING MYSTERY was tightened for racing room, checked and
lost ground. Entering the front
straight MURBAH GOLD checked across the heels of FLAPPING GUMS and was momentarily hampered.
SPRING MYSTERY which was trailing was checked
as a consequence and lost ground. The greyhound ANOTHER HASSLER underwent a post race veterinarian examination and
was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back muscle and
was stood down for a period of 6 weeks. |

GRADE FINAL 520M Even start with the exception of BIG
BAD BOB and HAPPY GLEN which were both momentarily
slow to begin. Shortly after the start MINSTREL MAN shifted out and bumped ARABELLA
resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight
BIG BAD BOB was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided
with ARABELLA resulting in both greyhounds to and lose considerable ground. Leaving the back straight BIG BAD BOB was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. ARABELLA which was trailing
was checked as a consequence. Entering
the front straight COMANECI shifted out which hampered the running of
MINSTREL MAN. The greyhound MINSTREL MAN underwent a
post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were
found. |

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 4/5th GRADE 431M Even start.
Through the 1st turn all greyhounds
with the exception of WILDASH WILDBOY and THIS TIME MARY were tightened for
racing room, checked and lost ground to varying degrees with THAT’S SUPER
losing considerable ground. Shortly
after WILDASH WILDBOY and THIS TIME MARY collided
resulting in THIS TIME MARY to be checked and lose ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight
STANKY LEG and TRISHA NOLAN collided resulting in STANKY LEG to be checked and lose ground. |

when NAUGHTY JESS proved difficult to box.
NAUGHTY JESS has been declared ‘hard to box’ for its immediate future. Even start with the exception of MAGIC SWIFTLY
which was slow to begin and LIGHTNING WHITE which was very slow to
begin. Shortly after the start JUST
SIZE and WHAT A MESS were tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. Shortly after
MAGIC SWIFTLY and WHAT A MESS collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight
JUST SIZE and CUPPA TEA KIWI collided resulting in CUPPA TEA KIWI to be checked and lose ground. Entering the back straight LIGHTNING WHITE
improved onto the heels of JUST SIZE and was checked as a
consequence. Leaving the back
straight NAUGHTY JESS was tightened for racing room,
checked and lost ground. |
