greyhounds were checked. THUNDER OF
FIRE was tightened in the top turn. The greyhound SALUDOS underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. Handler of the greyhound Mr. W. Dunstall
was questioned in regards to the greyhound’s performance particularly over
the concluding stages, in which it appeared to give ground. Mr. Dunstall advised that connections were
confident of the greyhound’s chances in this event, however he felt the
greyhound was forced wide throughout the race. He believed this might have
contributed to the greyhound’s weakening over the concluding stages. Stewards
noted Mr. Dunstall’s comments. |
