MAIDEN 431M UMBRELLA
HARRY was best to begin with MONLEE and GLORIA’S CHOICE slow. Shortly after the start UMBRELLA HARRY
shifted in colliding with MONLEE, GLORIA’S CHOICE and CELS EXPRESS resulting
in all greyhounds to lose ground. At
the same time WILL TO WIN was tightened for racing room and lost ground. In the 1st turn WESTERN
DIVISION, ALFONSO, UMBRELLA HARRY, GLORIA’S CHOICE and WILL TO WIN all
collided resulting in all greyhounds to lose ground to differing
degrees. Rounding the turn into the
back straight MONLEE clipped heels and lost ground. In the back straight WILL TO WIN got on the
heels of GLORIA’S CHOICE resulting in GLORIA’S CHOICE to lose ground and
GLORIA’S CHOICE ran wide. Entering the
turn into the home straight CELS EXPRESS and ALFONSO collided resulting in
ALFONSO to lose ground. Rounding the
turn into the home straight ALFONSO and WILL TO WIN collided resulting in
ALFONSO to lose ground. Leaving the
turn into the home straight WILL TO WIN, WESTERN DIVISION, ALFONSO and CELS
EXPRESS collided resulting in WESTERN DIVISION and ALFONSO to be hampered. In the home straight CELS EXPRESS ran wide. The
greyhound UMBRELLA HARRY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found. |

SKY RACING MAIDEN 431M The greyhound BLUE GIRL BLUE underwent a pre-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. SHEZA JEWEL and SAIL SURFER were best to begin with
INOUNO slow. Shortly after the start
all greyhounds except SHEZA JEWEL and INOUNO collided resulting in all
greyhounds to be hampered. In the 1st
turn SHEZA JEWEL, ROSDUE AVALON, BONDI GIRL and SAIL SURFER collided
resulting in all greyhounds to be hampered.
ELOISE which was trailing was checked, shifted out and collided with
INOUNO resulting in both greyhounds to lose ground. In the turn into the back straight ROSDUE
AVALON, BONDI GIRL and SAIL SURFER collided on numerous occasions resulting
in ROSDUE AVALON to lose ground. In the
home straight INOUNO ran wide. The greyhound ELOISE underwent a post-race veterinary
examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

ALPHA 390 FINANCE MAIDEN FINAL 431M Even start
with MAKING CENTS best to begin. Shortly
after the start LARRIKAN LASS, WILDASH WILLOW, ZAZU’S HEADACHE and CASEY
WHISPER all collided resulting in all greyhounds to be hampered. In the 1st turn all greyhounds
bar SPRING COMMAND and MAKING CENTS collided resulting in all to check and
lose ground to differing degrees. In
the top turn CASEY WHISPER and SPRING ROY collided. Both greyhounds were hampered. The greyhound
WILDASH WILLOW underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent
injuries were found. |

NOVICE 431M Even start with DORREGO slow. Shortly after the LONESOME HERO, SPRING
DOLLY, ASICLAO, POCKET BENZ an SNOW GIRL all collided resulting in all
greyhounds to lose ground. Rounding
the turn into the back straight ASICLAO clipped heels, shifted out and lost
ground. In the top turn POCKET BENZ
shifted in colliding with ASICLAO resulting in ASICLAO to lose ground. The greyhound UP THE HEAT underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

TYRE REPAIRS 5th GRADE 431M Even start with ELEGANT STRIDER and BOOM WARRIOR
slow. Shortly after the start ELEGANT
STRIDER and BOOM WARRIOR collided resulting in BOOM WARRIOR to lose
ground. In the 1st turn
CALL ME AUSSIE and COSADO SUN collided resulting in both greyhounds to lose
ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight CALL ME AUSSIE and COSADO
SUN collided resulting in both greyhounds stumbled and lost ground. In the home straight AGRO’S THUNDER turned
its head inwards to make muzzle contact with SPRING HOUDINI. In the finishing stages SPRING ERNIE
collided with the running rail. The greyhound SPRING ERNIE underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound AGRO’S THUNDER underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Steward advised trainer Mrs. J Cauchi that
the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence,
28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks. |

O’REILLY PET FOOD 5th GRADE 520M Even start with TRISTAN CANNON and BIG BAD BOB were slow
to begin. Entering the 1st
turn ASTIN’S WARRIOR was tightened for racing room, shifted out colliding
with ALEEAH JET and BIG BAD BOB resulting in all greyhounds to lose
ground. In the 1st turn
FATHER NOEL and ASTIN’S WARRIOR collided resulting in both greyhounds to lose
ground. TARA MARRIE clipped heels and
lost ground. leaving the 1st
turn FATHER NOEL, TRISTAN CANNON and BIG BAD BOB all collided resulting in
all greyhounds to be hampered. In the
top turn TARA MARRIE and BIG BAD BOB collided resulting in both greyhounds to
lose ground. Leaving the top turn
CUPPA TEA KIWI and ALEEAH JET bumped causing both greyhounds to lose
ground. In the home straight LITTLE
FONZIE tired in the last 100m and gave ground. The greyhound LITTLE FONZIE underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards questioned trainer Mr. M Boody
about the performance of LITTLE FONZIE.
Mr. Boody said that the greyhound is in top grade over the 431m and
the owner wanted the greyhound to be run over the 520m. Mr. Boody had not
supported the greyhound and he was happy with the performance tonight. |

5th GRADE FINAL 520M COOL VANE was best to begin with FAB DOOLEY and RANGER
DANGER slow. Shortly after the start
WILD WEST WILLY stumbled and was hampered.
Entering the 1st turn HONEY HORNET and RANGER DANGER
colliding forcing RANGER DANGER to shift out and lose ground. At the same time FAB DOOLEY hit the running
rail. In the 1st turn FAB
DOOLEY clipped heels and lost ground.
Entering the top turn SIZEABLE was tightened for racing room and lost
ground. FAB DOOLEY which was trailing
was checked and lost ground. Rounding
the turn into the home straight WILD WEST WILLY got on the hindquarters of
FAB DOOLEY resulting in WILD WEST WILLY to shift out and lose ground. In the home straight WILD WEST WILLY ran
wide. |

CONSTRUCTIONS 3/4th GRADE 431M SPRING LAUREN and NEEDY AND GREEDY
were best to begin. Shortly after the
start BANG ON TARGET and FABRE FORCE collided resulting in both greyhounds to
be hampered. In the 1st
turn MAKE TODAY COUNT, BANG ON TARGET, FABRE FORCE and MAGIC PASS all
collided resulting in BANG ON TARGET to lose ground and the rest of the
greyhounds to be hampered. Rounding
the turn into the back straight SPRING LAUREN and NEEDY AND GREEDY bumped
resulting in NEEDY AND GREEDY to be hampered.
In the top turn BANG ON TARGET was tightened for racing room and lost
ground. The greyhound FAB DOOLEY underwent a
post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

SURGEON 5th GRADE 431M ON THE WALL was best to begin with DOLLAR AND CENT and ME
HAPPY slow. Shortly after the start DOLLAR AND CENT and LOGAN COUNTY
collided. At the same time HERO HAYDOS
and SECOND GEAR bumped and all greyhounds were hampered. In the 1st turn DOLLAR AND CENT,
LOGAN COUNTY and FARAHMAC with SECOND GEAR, RUM RUNNER and ME HAPPY all
collided resulting in all greyhounds to be hampered. Rounding the turn into the back straight
SECOND GEAR was tightened for racing room and lost ground. At the same time DOLLAR AND CENT clipped
heels and lost ground. Rounding the
turn into the home straight HERO HAYDOS and FARAHMAC collided resulting in
HERO HAYDOS to fall and give no further competitive part in this race. SECOND GEAR, DOLLAR AND CENT and ME HAPPY
which were all trailing were checked and lost ground. The greyhound HERO HAYDOS underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off
hind foot and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |

5th GRADE 431M GIFTED ANGEL and SPRING POLLY were best to begin with
HEARTLAND FLYER and SWEET PEARL slow.
Shortly after the start HEARTLAND FLYER and SPRING POLLY bumped. PORT LISA which was trailing was checked
and all greyhounds were hampered. In
the 1st turn GIFTED ANGEL, HEARTLAND FLYER and PORT LISA collided
resulting in PORT LISA to lose ground.
Rounding the turn out of the back straight SPRING POLLY was tightened
for racing room and hampered. In the
top turn PORT LISA and GIFTED ANGEL collided resulting in GIFTED ANGEL to be
checked, shifted out and collided with HEARTLAND FLYER resulting in both
greyhounds to lose significant ground.
In the home straight BLOZA ran wide. The greyhound GIFTED ANGEL underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. The greyhound HEARTLAND FLYER underwent a post race
veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off
hind foot and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |
